SeaMonster by Amalie Howard

An Aquarathi novella, 1.5. Young adult paranormal fantasy. Written in first person present tense.
Speio meets Anya when she jumps off a cliff and he saves her. Did she jump for excitement or out of desperation? It seems both. Saving her was easy for Speio since he’s an aquarathi, or seamonster in human disguise. The two easily fall in love, but there is danger in Anya’s life and Speio isn’t supposed to bond with a human anyway.

Young love. A bit sad. Maybe also a bit

I would like to thank Amalie Howard for gifting me with this Kindle novella, after I attended an author chat sponsored by Colleen Houck. We finally get a glimpse into Speio and this is one of the most beautiful stories I have read. I can not wait to dive into Oceanborn. Speio always hated being on land and did not understand Nerissa's contentment but circumstances change Speio.

I love aliens and the alien world Amalie has created is so unique. The Aquarithi are so awesome. The transformation she describes in her writing is so creepy and beautiful at the same time. The love story had me swooning. A must read and I am giving this

Speio’s mistrust of humans is no secret, and he sees them only as a threat to the existence of his people.
