This is exactly what I look for in a romantic suspense book.

Dr. Jillian Mahoney gets kidnapped by a man in the parking lot of the hospital. He orders her to save a man who is bleeding in the back of his car. Taking her to his bolthole, a terrified Jillian does her best to patch up the injured man, who appears to be a 17-year-old drug dealer. Excusing herself to go to the bathroom, Jillian fills a syringe with sedative, but before she can stick her kidnapper, she's caught. It's only then that he

Dr. Jillian Mahoney is kidnapped by undercover FBI agent Alex Malcolm to patch up a gang member, Tony, who he needs alive to help him prove that Alex isn't the traitor in the FBI that led to an operation going south with several law enforcement officers ending up dead. The traitor is actually Dan Pryde, who blames Alex for the training accident that left him in a wheelchair. Now, Alex and Jillian have the 3 Star Killer gang on their tails, as well as Dan, who needs to cover his tracks. Adding a ...more
Good story with gripping suspense from the first chapter. Jillian is a doctor in a busy emergency room who has been on duty for three days. She's due three days off just as a bad snowstorm is about to hit the city. Thinking about what she needs to do as she walks to the subway station, she is startled when a man stops her to ask for help for his injured friend. Rather than bringing him into the hospital, the man kidnaps her to force her cooperation.

Alex is desperate to save the man with him, not

I read a fair amount of romantic suspense, but kidnapped heroine plots tend not to work for me. There's often way too much TSTL craziness involved for me to get sucked into the tension of the story. It's also hard for an author to convince me that the kidnapper and the kidnappee have a healthy relationship together. Not so with Lethal Lies. I'll admit that I rolled my eyes when I read the back blurb, but Lara Lacombe does a nice job both of creating tension and of making readers like her charact ...more

"In Lacombe’s latest, stakes are high and emotions are intense. The action-filled plot and the sweet chemistry between Alex and Jillian will keep readers turning the pages" (RT Book Reviews, 4 1/2 stars).

My first time reading this author, and I really enjoyed the book. Jillian is an ER doctor who is kidnapped from the hospital parking lot and forced to tend to the wounds of a young gang member. She's frightened much of the time, but dedicated to saving her patient, while also trying to find a way to escape. She's resourceful, and while her escape plan fails, she stays strong. Alex is an undercover agent who has been betrayed and is now on the run from not only the gang he infiltrated, but from t ...more

Lethal Lies is by Lara Lacombe. It is a romantic suspense. It is a very good book and very exciting to read. Lara creates very realistic characters and the plot is well thought out.
Dr. Jillian Mahoney is looking forward to her three days off. She has been working in the ER for the last three days with only catnaps in the residents’ room. The next three days are looking very good. She plans to do nothing but sleep. The weather is bad and getting worse. Lots of snow is in the forecast so she is p

"Lethal Lies" is much better than your average Harlequin Romantic Suspense. The heroine, Dr. Jillian Mahoney, is an emergency room doctor who is captured by a deep undercover FBI agent. Lacombe gives the reader insight into Jillian's thought processes as she makes medical decisions when faced with the challenge of saving lives outside a hospital. The medical science added realism and depth to the conflict Jillian faced.
Alex Malcom is a good man, who went deep undercover to infiltrate gangs. He d

Simply put, I could not put this book down!!! This was a wild ride from start to finish. Ms. Lacombe is on my auto-buy list. If you like romantic suspense, she should be on yours, too! Looking forward to her next book.

Nothing new here. Agent kidnaps doctor; she hates him; they have sex; they love each other; stupid angst; the end. Pure drivel.

Lethal Lies by Lara Lacombe was the first book that I have read by this author but it won't be the last.

Dr. Jillian Mahoney is an E.R. doctor and as smart and independent as any heroine that I have "met" while reading a book. She is scared when she gets kidnapped; but being a doctor in an E.R. has taught her to think on her feet. She agrees to help to save the life of her kidnapper's friend. Her experience in the E.R. has also honed her people assessment skills and she realizes that Alex is muc

LETHAL LIES BY LARA LACOMBE is the first book of this authors I've read. It wont be the last! I am not a huge reader of Harlequin romances but I thought what the heck,go for it! I enjoyed every page of this story. The fast pace, the danger, the suspense & yes the romance all wrapped up in a very good book! I should say great book! Dont let the Harlequin label fool you folks this is a great suspense/mystery.
