This book stitches together 2 separate stories.

First is that of an African Bush outing that goes south in a big way. This was no fancy five-star African safari. This clients were promised an outing that involved hunting for the food they would consume on their trip, camping out in tents they pitched themselves. No luxuries, no contact with the outside world. Zip.
Unfortunately, out in the wild lines get blurred between the hunters and the prey. This part of the

I think the fact that I finished this book in one day indicates how much I enjoyed it. Tess Gerritsen is in top form and it is one of the best Rizzoli and Isles book she has written. I loved the fact that some of the story is set in Botswana and in Cape Town as well as Boston. In fact there are two story lines running throughout the book one in Africa and one in America and each is as exciting as the other. I frequently felt the need to rush on to the end just to find out how on earth it was ...more

The 11th book in Tess Gerritsen’s fantastic Rizzoli & Isles Series that grabs you from the first page….
In the slanting light of dawn I spot it, subtle as a watermark, pressed into the bare patch of dirt. Were it midday, when the African sun glares down hot and bright, I might have missed it entirely, but in early morning, even the faintest dips and depressions cast shadows, and as I emerge from our tent

Gripping, terrifying, strong characters, good plot, and guaranteed to keep you awake at night. A group of tourists are driven deep into the jungle of the Okavango Delta of Botswana to experience a trip of a lifetime by camping under the stars, and observing the wildlife. Their excursion soon turns into a nightmare when the hired tracker is found partially eaten not far from their camp. Tess Gerritsen creates an eerie frightening atmosphere as the tourists lie awake scared and on edge while ...more

Detective Jane Rizzoli & Medical Examiner Maura Isles are investigating the gruesome murder of a big game hunter and taxidermist who died in a similar manner to how he captured his own big cats. Maura eventually finds a connection to an unsolved case in the wilds of Botswana where six members of a safari either were presumed dead or whose bodies were later found. There was one survivor and the suspected murderer has never been seen again. That survivor has taken great pains to stay hidden ...more

Tess Gerritsen is back with another Rizzoli and Isles crime thriller spanning all the way across the bush in Botswana where there is a killer more sinister than the hunting leopard. Die Again tells the story of an adventure in Africa turned nightmare. A group of people travel into the bush in order to get a closer look at what it means to live in the wild. Before long, they become hunted, and it ain't by no lions or tigers.

Six years later, Rizolli and Isles are called to an horrific crime scene

Leopards and tigers and hyenas, oh my! Tess Gerritsen’s eleventh Rizzoli and Isles saga, Die Again , begins with a safari in Botswana. A reluctant bookseller from London has accompanied her boyfriend and several others on safari. What is intended to be a pleasure trip for the humans turns out to be anything but. Only one comes out alive.

Meanwhile, back in Boston, Detective Jane Rizzoli and her partner Barry Frost must deal with a gruesome scene: a taxidermist has been found strung up and

I have been reading this series for three years, since I started watching the tv series. The books and the series are different, but I enjoy both. This book starts out with a grisly murder. Detectives Rizzoli and Frost are called to scene of an especially gruesome murder. The dead man, Leon Gott, is found hanging from the ceiling. He has been eviscerated and hung up like a hunter hangs a deer. ME Maura Isles is also called to the scene. Dr. Isles ultimately plays a significant role in
The excitement was tangible from the small group of people on safari in Africa. A first for the city people; Botswana was touted as the last really wild place on earth – the website they had booked their seven day safari from had been enticing. For Millie though, she had only accompanied boyfriend Richard because it was his dream – having been a couple for a few years now, Millie was used to the sacrifices she made for Richard; what was one more? But Millie was finding it difficult to enjoy the ...more

Maybe its because it has been a while since I read these books, but while it was a good mystery I didn't find it to be anything special, thus the middle of the road three stars.

Rizzoli and Isles are back, this time trying to catch the killer of a taxidermist, strung up and gutted much like a hunter would kill his prey. When they find more deaths of a similar nature, Rizzoli follows the trail to Africa, where one woman may be the key to find the killer.

This like many of the other books was a
OH Tess! you are truly a genius. another wonderful master piece by the genre's shiniest star! oh how I love this woman's work.
this book reminded me rather unpleasantly of a recent incident. I went to visit a distant relative, a decent god fearing guy and what do I see in there drawing room...... animals poor, beautiful, majestic, STUFFED animals. lions and deer and even a leopard!!!!! imagine and endangered animal that he boasted about killing himself. I had a meltdown of epic proportions and I

Die Again is the eleventh book in the Rizzoli and Isles series by popular American author, Tess Gerristen. A bizarre murder bearing all the hallmarks of a game hunter has Rizzoli and Isles visiting the Suffolk Zoo and learning about large cats. A seemingly unrelated body dug up in a garden sees Maura taking an uncharacteristic stance, just on a hunch, to insist the murders are related. Before long, other cold cases are examined for similarities, and a link to a Botswana safari gone horribly ...more

I have to thank Net Galley for the forward copy of the latest Rizzoli & Isles book by Tess Gerritsen.
I have enjoyed this series for a while and after a long wait for the next in the series it was like saying hello to an old friend, This series is so well written with strong characters that develop with every book as you learn more about them. The book does work as a stand alone novel but if you read the series from the start you will get more out of the novels. These books are so much more

Rizzoli & isles DIE AGAIN is a fast paced police procedural novel set in Boston and Botswana. When a famed taxidermist and big game hunter is found strung up like a deer in his garage, Jane Rizzoli and her partner Frost get the case. A second body only slightly connected to the first victim is soon found and it is up to Maura Isles to make the tenuous connection.
The track of the killer is very dim, the only connection between the two being a phone call on the day they both died and the son

Homicide Detective Jane Rizzoli and Medical Examiner Maura Isles are working a new murder. Taxidermist Leon Gott was found hanging upside-down in his garage. He had been gutted just like the deer hanging in his study. While Jane looks for leads in the case, Maura begins to believe that they may have a serial killer in their midst. She finds other murders that could be tied to this one...including the disappearance of a group of tourists on safari in Africa.

This book was kind of uneven. It was

First off I have to say...OMG! It has been some books a while ago since I read one from this author. After reading this book I plan to go back and check out the ones I missed and don't let this happen again. This book reminded me of why I first fell in love with the talented Tess Gerritsen. One of my favorite duos in the mystery, suspense genre is Jane and Maura. Otherwise know as Rizzoli and Isles. They are so different but could not be more perfect together. Recommends it for: fans of great thrillers
Uncorrected Proof copy - not for sale it says on the cover of my trade paperback copy of this book. Also NOT FOR SALE, which is nice as I did buy it nonetheless.

A new Rizzoli & Isles to start the reading year with, is kind of great as it does set the standard for the thrillers I want to read this year. The book is a solid 4 star thriller, it gets one star taken away because my usually not so suspicious mind did guess the outcome of the book and the identity of the killer way too soon. Either

Die Again, the eleventh in the Rizzoli and Isles series, is, by far, my favourite novel in the entire Rizzoli and Isles series. Rizzoli is on the case after a big game hunter is found dead in his apartment, alone with the body of a snow leopard that he had been commissioned to stuff. Medical examiner, Maura Isles, connects the case to a number of seemingly unrelated deaths where the victims have been found hanging upside down, the same way a snow leopard would hang their prey. Into the world of ...more

Tess Gerritsen does research with Africa & it's animals. As they track a recent Boston murder of big hunter Leon Gott to 6 years earlier, it leads to Africa safari of 8 with a lone survivor finally found. How do murders in Africa fit & can a lone survivor identify the killer. Following the book is a read as a "first" person is kept as Millie Jackson. As usual, the final link is on the killed & the murderer identity switched.

No long review for this one because there are already so many. I loved it, despite guessing the killer, and read it in four hours. It was a reminder of how good Gerritsen can be. Think i'm going to have to catch up on the ones i've missed.

I won this copy from Dead Good- many thanks! Looking forwards to reading the Q&A with Tess on October 5th.

Detective Jane Rizzoli and Medical Examiner Maura Isles join forces once again to investigate the curious case of a taxidermist strung up and gutted in his home. When additional remains are found, Jane and Maura come to believe that the murder is related to the disappearance of a group of bush tourists in Africa. Has the killer changed continents?

OVERVIEW/ANALYSIS: I've been a fan of Tess Gerritsen's Jane Rizzoli & Maura Isles series. I've followed the series until about book 7 after which my interest waned and I didn't really care much for the travails in the lives of our complicated duo. However I did read the remaining titles but it wasn't with the same burning intensity. Lately the author has also taken a detour into Maura's past & rather complex family history. Also Jane's family situation has been complicated due to her ...more

Oh my Buddha this was GOOD, extremely entertaining. I literally could not put it down and finished it during my free time within 3 days. Although this book is in a series, it works well as a standalone book. I think there are some spoilers for the earlier books, but I didn't mind, it was just SOO GOOD. Fascinating characters, well-planned and well-written threads of stories that ended perfectly and made me want more more more. Some events were rather hard to believe but who cares? The ...more

Everyone is related to Africa; everyone comes from Africa. We are all distant relatives. - Damian Marley

Let’s face it – think of Africa, and the first images that come to mind are of war, poverty, famine and flies. How many of us really know anything at all about the truly great ancient African civilizations, which in their day, were just as splendid and glorious as any on the face of the earth? - Henry Louis Gates

No matter what we call it, poison is still poison,
Another in the Rizzoli and Isles series and wow, possibly the best yet. This had me intrigued from the beginning. All the usual ingredients were here. The criss cross between Botswana and Boston was an interesting storyline that had me hooked and I had to prize myself away from this book at times.

"In Die Again, the eleventh outing for Detective Jane Rizzoli and Dr Maura Isles, we are initially given two stories. Firstly we are miles away from the duo’s home of Boston and find ourselves on a safari trip in Botswana. Here a group of relative strangers, though they include a couple and two best friends, are out to have an adventure in the wilds camping amongst the animals. Things soon take a much darker turn as something or someone starts picking them off one by one. Back in Boston Jane ...more

This book was everything I expect from Tess Gerritsen. My problem initially was picturing Rizzoli and Isles as I see the actresses in the show. Once I got into the story, my previously imagined characters were back in place. Jane and Maura kept things interesting throughout the book, and the African side of the plot was enjoyable. The "witness" was very well developed and I could empathize with her. Well done!
