Het is geen boek dat je van A tot Z leest (ik toch niet), maar eerder een naslagwerk.

Ik gebruik het bijvoorbeeld om nog even de verschillen te bestuderen tussen blauwe en grauwe kiekendieven voor de voorjaarstrek begint, omdat het al een paar jaren geleden is dat ik ze nog eens goed heb kunnen bekijken in het wild. Ik heb nog niet alle soorten bekeken, zelfs niet een meerderheid van de soorten, maar wat ik al gelezen heb is gewoon fantastisch. Bij sommige soorten staan er meer dan 30 foto's van vliegbeelden: boven- zij- en onderaanzicht, man/vrouw/juveniel, overgangskleden, melanisme, ... En dan zijn er nog de bijhorende teksten met beschrijvingen van de soort, de verschillende kleden, gedrag, verspreiding, ...

Dit is een fantastisch naslagwerk.
