Happy Pants Café by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is book one in the Happy Pants series. I love a fun, sexy romance but I love it even more when it turns out to have that hidden secret, that something that makes it more. And that is exactly what I found with Happy Pants Café.

Harper Branton is a writer for the San Francisco Tribune. She loves her job, I mean, her job is her life. She feels like she will eventually marry, but her future husband will have to agree that the marriage is not for love but for m

I downloaded Happy Pants at ten PM, by three AM I closed the cover on a finished book. (Not technically speaking of course, since I read it on my Nook, but you get what I’m saying.) I've come to the point with this author’s work that I don’t even bother with the synopsis anymore. Any title she releases is an instant download for me. Not one of her novels has yet to disappoint and her latest offering lived up to its predecessors and the high standard already set.

What I loved about this book:
What a wonderful/funny way to recover from a book slump. ^_^
Happy Pants Cafe was so much fun. Thank you so much Carol for the recommendation! I got this prequel book for free. This is my first book by Ms Pamfiloff. The premise/blurb was so so intriguing. I'm very happy to say that the book didn't disappoint.
Harper, the h is a reported for a SF newspaper. She's a romance/ love skeptic. The H, Austin is also a reporter for a competing Bay area newspaper. They're both going for the same story: Wha

This started so good that I felt some serious heart palpitations but the comedic side got over the top towards the ending that I felt bored and skipped pages to get to the end.

This was a cute, funny story actually. I loved the banter between the hero and heroine. But I didn't really like how the plot went.
About 25% towards the ending, the supporting characters were so freaking annoying that they all caused the dramas.

Although the blurb said that this book was stand alone, the ending was kind of vague. Apparently you still need to read the next book if you want to know the 'clear' ending... (๑・з・)ッブー

But I still enjoyed this. Pretty refreshing

I have so much admiration for Mimi's gift. To be able to create another great story in a different genre is genius. She are truly a gifted and talented person. This book is sweet and LOL funny! I can't wait to meet Moo. It's a wonder how Mimi seems to know how the ADHD of inner thoughts happen. The personal dialogues in this book are extremely funny. Great stuff. I'm sad that it's over, but can't wait for the next story!

Can't believe I have finished it the same day I bought it. That's how good it was; couldn't put it down. I'm glad mimi wrote this book as it just shows how good a writer she is. Loved it and can't wait to read what she writes next. Xx

Great as usual

I love her stories and this one is no exception. This is a great unique love story. Very funny and also crazy. You won't be disappointed!

DNF @30%. This started off well, then started losing steam. The humor just started getting too silly and OTT for me and the characters inner-monologue became overpowering.

This was a fun story that teaches one that we should never stop believing in the power of love. (or Cookies as the case may be) This short story made me laugh out load and cry and I just generally had a great time escaping into this world.

I look forward to more from this series.

Having read some mediocre bookbub freebies I held out very little hope that this would be any good. The title is a little crazy and I was convinced it would be terrible. How wrong could I be? This was perfect holiday reading. It was brilliant and I couldn't put it down. Bravo!! I loved it.

Interesting Introduction

Austin and Harper had much to learn about themselves, each other, and love. Harper had a lead and she was going to work it to the end. She needed this. Okay, I got that much. The Austin thing was another sotry for me. These two went through a lot of life to get to their happy ending. Just to find that it really was not the end. They are off to a different kind of journey. Luci & Sebastian had a bit more going on than what was presented in this introduction to the seri
Clearly, I'm in the minority here but I didn't care for this book. I was in the mood for a funny, light-hearted romance but what I got was a bizarre, over-the-top kitschy read with bad, overly-done jokes. To quote Billy Crystal, "It was neither fun nor funny."

Quick Rundown: Chick gets into a journalist war with Dude who happens to be her childhood best friend who broke her heart at 9 years old. They latch onto the same story of the "mysterious" Happy Pants Cafe which seems to be responsible for

Okay... I'm not going to be a scared little girl and hide behind my mommy. Oh no! I'm going to say this woman what I think about her... right now! She's the most hard-working, genius, absolutely fabulous woman that I have not meet yet. Her books are the works of a genius and she's not scared to try new things, to see how her readers (and new readers, because people get hooked on her books automatically) react to her new books. From my experience as her reader, I can say with all my heart, that I ...more

She needs this story and so does he… but maybe what they really need is each other.

Harper Branton needs a story to get her out of hot water with her boss and the strange goings on at The Happy Pants Café might just be the scoop she was looking for. There is only one problem in the delicious shape of Austin a fellow reporter with a competitive streak a mile wide, only he’s not just some reporter he is also the first boy who broke her heart. This was a great beginning to a new series. I absolutely loved Harper and Austin, the banter between them was so much fun I found myself laughing out loud several times. This story has also introduced us to a couple of the key players in the Happy Pants Cafe, the owner and baker Luci, as well as Sebastian who runs the farm where the special ingredients are grown for the cookies.
I look forward to reading the rest of this sweet and funny series.

This book was so much fun!! I received an ARC of Tailored For Trouble, book 1 in the Happy Pants series, but when I saw there was a prequel already out, I read that first. I'm so glad I did!

Harper, a journalist, messes up a story she's supposed to cover and has one last shot at keeping her job. She needs to find out the story behind the Happy Pants Cafe. Romance Between The Sheets
HAPPY PANTS CAFE was an OK read, but at times I found it to be a little too much, like it was trying too hard to be funny. I don’t remember much about Austin or Harper, other than they spent most of the book behaving like children and trying to one-up the other. Harper doesn’t believe in love because Austin broke her heart when she was nine and she’s carried around that thinking for the past nineteen years. Harper broke Austin’s heart when he was eleven, but he still believes in love and marriag ...more

Loved it, and managed to read most of it in one sitting.

Pleased to see it's not a one off, and I hope that means we'll see plenty more of Austin and Harper.
The story begins with Austin waking up freezing cold, half dressed and lying on the pavement outside the "Happy Pants Cafe" and works it's way full circle right back to that point.

It starts with a cookie....and then you fall in love.

Sound like a gimmick? It's the rumor of the Happy Pants Cafe. You eat the cookie, you're going to meet THE ONE within seven days.

Believe it?

Most don't. Until it happens to them. Problem is, most don't want to talk about it.....

Harper is a facts person. By the book. She's sassy, she's thinking all about work work work. (When I say sassy, I mean...well, she's feisty!) And lately, things just don't go in her favor. Like her last few jobs. She's

To start with, I can't really go into the story in the review, as that will completely destroy the story line and here at Cara’s Book Boudoir, we try not to do spoilers.
This book is a romantic comedy and I am not really a romantic comedy fan. Some of the interactions between Harper and her love/hate interest were bordering on cringe-worthy, which at times (for me) made the book a little hard to read. But then again I would like to point out; I am not a big Rom-Com fan I do have to say that 99% o

I usually just one-click any book that Mimi Jean writes. Her stories are simply amazing. Happy Pants Cafe is a little different than your usual Mimi Jean books. It was light and funny with a little mystery that kept me glued from page one.

Austin Royce is a refreshing change because he's actually the true romantic and Harper is the more cynical and cautious heroine. The story is told from both their points of view which kept me laughing throughout the entire book. This is exactly what you need f

Although I enjoyed this introduction to the Happy Pants Series, it wasn't as satisfying as the first full installment. There were too many road blocks and too many tears and misunderstandings without the heart that Tailor Made for Trouble contained. For these reasons, Happy Pants Cafe earns 3.5 Stars.
