Torture, mind games and revenge … the three things that Captain Laurie Madigan has embedded into his very being. Enter his best friend, psychologist Gemma Calloway. After Laurie is rescued from the hands of “Firebird”, it's up to Gemma to see if Laurie is fit for duty with CFA. What transpires is a test of wills for both of them … the coming of age of the deep feelings they have for each other … discovering the difference between revenge and

This was better than the first book in the series, but it still didn't do enough to keep my attention. The first 20% was great, the next 60% was utterly boring and then the last 20% was great and helped make up for the lackluster middle section, somewhat. I can say that the author definitely picked up the suspense/action in this book, which was much appreciated. The first book had almost none at all, despite the occupation of the characters, so it was great to have something that kept me intrigu ...more

Snap is the second installment of Porter’s “adventurous, La Femme Nikita-inspired series of military erotic romances,” Command Force Alpha. This romantic suspense tale is not of the carefree, adventurous Romancing the Stone ilk; it’s a darker, brooding tale of survival and retribution. The urge to read the next page is as addictive as the attraction between the two main characters. And Snap is as addictive as they come.

We are introduced to Captain Laurence Madigan (his friends call him Laurie),

Genre: Romantic Suspense.

Second book in the C.F.A. series and though each book is a stand alone you’ll enjoy it better if you’ve read book one. That mentions the capture and disappearance of Laurie, and introduces some of the characters we meet in this book. this novel is centred around Laurie who finally escaped after fourteen months of imprisonment and torture, and is undergoing Psych assessments by his colleague a

Well the only problem I have with reading a book by Katie Porter is, she doesn't just tell a story, she draws you in and makes you take notice. Her stories are full of course hot steamy sex, but suspens and intruige. I have fallen for this series from the first chapter of book one. And as great as it was, this one is better. Laurie is one frighting individual, you never want to be on his bad side. The first few chapters prove that, but if there is someone he's afraid of sit up and take notice. B ...more

This is not my usual fare as military-type stories don’t generally appeal to me, but I’m very glad I kept reading this book! Capt. Laurence Madigan is a tough, commanding man who is used to getting what he wants. He is loyal and determined to complete his mission. Gemma Calloway is a great compliment to Laurence’s personality – kind, but with a spine of steel, she can simultaneously care for Laurence’s psychological pain without taking any of his crap.

Laurence and Gemma’s survivalist journey bri

Liked but didn't love as I couldn't really connect with either Laurie or Gemma and their romance. It felt detached to me which isn't strange considering especially Laurie's background and struggles.
Did love the plot though and am curious to know where everything is headed. The end (last 70-80 pages or so) were fast-paced and definitely held my attention. Though not my favorite among the Katie Porter books it held its ground and made me want to continue reading the series.
Interesting, suspenseful, grim at times. The sex was occasionally erotic, more often served as a vehicle to work through the hero and heroine's issues. Not my favourite of Ms. Porter's books, this is a good read.

Bought from kindle.

Vacillated between boring me to tears to shocking me with super sexy sex scenes and clumsy espionage and back to supreme boredom and back to the toe curling sex.
