***B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree*** This is a story of a girl name Sofie, who doesn't want to take ballet. She soon realizes though that she likes it and with the help of her friend Chloe she does quite well. When a chance comes along to be the prima ballerina in the next recital, Sofie is torn because she has to compete against her best friend Chloe. Who will win? Will the girls be friends in the end?
Sofie at Dance is a wonderful story about a girl who is not sure of herself at first. She wants to take Ballet classes but is hesitant. She pushes through her nervousness and ends up reconnecting with a school friend. The girls become best buddies and help each other become successful.
This book is a great book for girls who are nervous about starting something new. It also teaches the great lesson about helping others and the need to practice. In the book another girl gets prima ballerina and Sofie's reaction helps show that you can be happy for aomeone else and still be disappointed. This also demonstrated the importance of staying motivated even when things don't turn out exactly as you expect.
This book is great for all girls not just those who are wanting to take ballet/dance lessons. Sofie is an excellent role model.
This was a cute story laced with themes of trying new things, believing in yourself, friendship, and healthy competition. The illustrations were colorful and enhanced the story. We enjoyed seeing Chloe and Sofia grow and learn throughout the story.
My daughter loves all things dance. She asks me to read this story to her every night before bed. It is very relatable and inspiring for little girls who love to dance.
Enjoyed this sweet tale about friendship, competition, and working hard toward a goal. And a reminder to parents that children need loving support to develop confidence about their unique selves.
This is a story of friendship, competitive spirit and loyalty. The story is one every growing child must face...honing social and competitive skills. The story line centers on a little girl named Sofie and her uncertainty of becoming a ballerina. Once she tries it, she likes it and even meets a new best friend. Suddenly the friends learn they must compete against one another in order to become better ballerinas. This worries Sofia and she is unsure of her feelings as she tries to keep a level head and work through her competitive feelings. The story line is sweet, charming and innocent and ends too soon for me. The story illustrations are wonderfully colorful and come to life on the pages.
I enjoyed writing and then reading this book. It has a message for all children, do your best! I want to thank the Amoroso's again for allowing me to use Sofie as my inspiration. Sofie, you are my inspiration, always be who you are.
We are proud to announce that SOFIE AT DANCCE by Suzan Johnson is a B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree. This tells a reader that this book is well worth their time and money!
