This book has been available to me for almost 4 months now. As much as I was looking forward to reading it, though, I was also putting it off. I wanted to read another book about this family, but I wasn't quite ready for the series to end. I also wasn't sure how I would like the last book being about Rafe since he definitely wasn't my favorite character. He grew on me, though, and I liked seeing how he changed and grew over time-- how Kirra did the same-- and how they grew together.

Many years ago I was walking my dog in the park and a very pretty woman came up to me and said hello. Thinking to myself that all my christmases had come at once we struck up a conversation. Things were going so well until she asked me if I'd heard of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

This book feels like that. I requested it because the synopsis sounded interesting. A romantic suspense novel set with the backdrop of the Iditarod Dog Sled Race. That part of it actually kind of wor

Review on my blog:

Sabotaged was a bittersweet read. It's the last book in the Alaskan Courage series and, while I loved getting a new adventure with these characters, I was sad to start it knowing it would be the end.

As with all of Dani Pettrey's previous books, the writing was great and I loved the characters. I didn't think it was as suspenseful as the other books and there wasn't enough backgrou

Krásne! Túto sériu zbožňujem! :) Škoda len, že koniec zbehol akosi rýchlo. Skončilo to v najlepšom. :(

I'm smiling and crying all at once as I close the book on SABOTAGED and on the McKenna family. I didn't want this book -- or this series -- to end! With each new volume of the Alaskan Courage series, Dani Pettrey's storytelling skills have clearly blossomed, and in this fifth and final book, she weaves an ecoterrorism mystery full of red herrings into the iconic Iditarod dogsled race to create the perfect final act and curtain call for her brilliant debut series. I will miss the McKenna clan and ...more

With the release of Sabotaged, the final book of her Alaskan Courage Series, Dani Pettrey delivers one of the best inspirational romantic suspense books I've read. Prepare for an avalanche of excitement as Kirra Jacobs and the entire McKenna clan battle the harsh Alaskan winter in order to find Kirra's uncle and save his kidnapped daughter. As the Iditarod mushers push towards Nome, many lives hang in the balance as the team races the clock in search of answers.

I thought I might not enjoy Sabotaged as much as I had Dani's other books in the Alaskan Courage series. I couldn't have been more wrong. Kirra and Reef's story was my favorite--the perfect finale.

Never losing sight of the ties that bind the McKenna family together, Dani nevertheless begins an entirely new, unique story. Sabotaged centers around the exciting Iditarod race. The action begins immediately, with Kirra and Reef taking off into the night to find a missing musher. From there, the tensi

Reef has fascinated me from the beginning of the Alaskan Courage series. At his absence at the beginning of the first novel, I was immediately curious to discover his story. In this final installment, we get a surprisingly pleasant and satisfying answer to that question. What a great book, not only as a stand alone, but also as the conclusion to the series.

Kirra and Reef have known each other since grade school, but have never been in the same circle. When Kirra’s uncle disappears after passing

Wow, thrilling adventure and mystery is what Dani Pettrey is skilled at writing! It was so hard to put down the book when real life called, and I devoured it in all my spare time and late into the night :) I thoroughly enjoyed Reef and Kirra's story, the last of the Alaskan Courage series. Sabotaged has all the vital elements that the previous books have- romance, family loyalty, extreme adventure and a dangerous mystery to be solved- yet the story is fresh, unique, and compelling. The banter an ...more

I loved the first three books in this series. I love the family dynamics, the well-developed characters, and the fast-paced adventure. The fourth book wasn't as amazing, but I still loved it.

This one was my least favorite. The romantic aspect seemed settled way too early in the book, and the action just didn't carry the book. I skimmed the last third of the book to find out the end.

I enjoyed the epilogue because I did enjoy all the characters in the series. They were intriguing, and the Alaska

I absolutely loved this book. I hated putting it down for even a minute! Action-packed from the very beginning, Dani Pettrey captures the adventurous spirit of our hero, Reef, perfectly. The characters are fantastic. The message of the story focuses on letting go of your past and focusing on the future. Overall, this book was the perfect ending to a fantastic series. I was SO excited to receive my copy and a little sad at the same time. Our time with the McKenna's has ended, but I can't wait to ...more

Sabotaged was a touching, thrilling, yet bittersweet conclusion to the Alaskan Courage series. Bittersweet just because I did not want to say goodbye to the McKenna family! I loved getting to know Kirra and Reef better. My heart went out to Kirra for all that she had been through, I could not even imagine what it would feel like to go through what she did and then not have anyone believe her, how awful! It was neat to not only see more of the gentleman that Reef is working to be but also to watc ...more

Reading this book was bittersweet. On one hand I was ecstatic to read it since I've adored the other four books in this series and couldn't wait to read Reef's story. But on the other hand I was quite sad to have to say goodbye to the McKennas. But that all left my mind as soon as I read the first pages and got completely sucked in. The action was non-stop from page one, and I could not stop turning pages. Dani Pettrey definitely knows how to grab her reader's attention and not let it go till th ...more

For three years, readers were invited on a journey with the McKenna family. Fictional yes, but so real was their depiction it seemed as if they might be next-door neighbors or best friends. Ushering in 2015 brought about the last story from the saga that started in 2012 with Submerged. This is the book with the most build-up considering it was about the one sibling that was never really properly introduced. The wild child of the family, Reef rarely spent time at home during his adult years. Inst ...more

Dani Pettrey is an outstanding writer of romantic suspense and I'm so glad she writes for the Christian market. Quality writing, vivid setting, rich characterization, exciting storyline, compelling romance - all these elements and more come together in a narrative that captured and held my attention from the very first page. But even more than that, I admire how Dani is able to show the vital role of faith in her characters' lives - which translates to ours as wel

After reading the first four books in Dani Pettrey's Alaskan Courage series, I was a little conflicted about the release of Sabotaged, which is the fifth and final book in the series. I mean, of course, I was excited for another Dani Pettrey novel (who wouldn't be?!) but I hate saying farewell to characters I've come to know and love (the McKennas, y'all!).

What a fabulous finale to the Alaskan Courage series! Although I will always hope that there will be other McKenna family sightings in future books by Dani Pettrey, I feel that she wrapped this series up in a spectacular fashion.

If you have not read the other books in the series, you can follow along just fine in Sabotaged. However, to truly understand the inner workings of the McKenna family, you really need to start with book one, Submerged, and work your way through the series. Believe me, yo

Sabotaged by Dani Pettrey is book five and the final book in the Alaskan series. I am very sad to see it end. The author does an amazing job of capturing your attention and the book is halfway over before you realize it. If you've been following the series you may have wondered, like I did, how much I was going to like Reef as the main character. You will be thrilled to know that he has been growing in each book and was a great male lead in Sabotaged. In the previous books he's been the undepend ...more

Ok, I admit it, I'm in denial. This cannot be the end of the McKenna family saga. I have, over the course of five books, come to love this family and I am not ready to give them up. With each book, Dani Pettrey has continued to weave the powerful story of one family, the McKennas. Sabotaged book Five is The youngest male in the family, Reef's, story. Up to now we haven't learned much about him, other than the fact that he is a free spirit. Now he is home and is showing a very different Reef.

Sabotaged brings to an end the Alaskan Courage series, following the McKenna family. Sadly. I surely hated to say goodbye. This story follows youngest sibling, Reef McKenna and Kirra Jacobs, veterinarian in Yancey, Alaska. Kirra's cousin Meg has been kidnapped to ensure her father cooperates with the crooks. Kirra and Reef set off to try to find Meg and her father, and much danger ensues.

Kirra is dealing with an awful hurt, wondering why God turned His back on her during her difficult days. Reef

Yes, the bittersweet comes with this book. The ending of a wonderful series and a well done ending it was. Reef and Kirra are both love able characters. The stories have been going on long enough that bad boy Reef is reformed and ready to get serious about life. When Kirra slips out of the SAR sight, it's only natural for Reef to follow and find himself in trouble with a girl he can easily fall in love with. After surviving one experience together without major frostbite, they find themselves wo ...more

Dani Pettrey writes romantic suspense, and as this is my genre of choice. I jumped on Submerged when I came across it at the local Christian bookstore. I have truly enjoyed every one of the five books in the Alaskan Courage series featuring the McKenna’s siblings. One of my favorite things about books is when you have the same characters reoccurring, so as the reader, you can watch them mature and grow. Pet trey writes with such passion that it shows in her stories.
