Good book. I think the book and story itself I would give 3 stars, but I am hopeful that the learning experiences our family has because of the book would be a 5 star experience. I wanted to read it first, but I am planning on reading it as a family and having our own “shawl” experiences as we learn about our ancestors.

This was a great book. It made me think of what my ancestors went through. I've always wanted to go back in time and meet my ancestors and see what life was like fore them. Catherine learns how lucky she is and how important family really is. Going back in time and meeting Christina who is her great-great-great-great grandmother and learning how she joined the church and what happened for her to come to Zion helps Catherine realizes how important her family is. The girls share a special bond of friendship and even stronger than that a bound of family.
