To Rylan Bradley, love is overrated and forever only happens in fairy tales. She’s perfectly content spending Friday nights at the bar with her friend Allie and a cold beer while shooting down every guy that comes her way.

Wesley Kade is new in town, still picking up the pieces of a past he never thought he’d have to leave behind. When a chance meeting in an elevator intro

Sometimes people don’t realize what they are missing in their perfect little world until that something slowly sneaks into your life. Even the strongest and most independent of us need to have a shoulder to lean on, a safe place to land where we are accepted. Rylan thought she was good with her single lifestyle until Kade comes into her life like a knight in shining armor. Still, under his warm and caring façade there is a dark and painful history, one that has scarred his heart and built a wall ...more

This is the second book I’m reading by this author. I absolutely loved Tear Stained Beaches. So… When Courtney asked if I would like to read this book…. I jumped at the chance!

The story in it self was ok… I felt bad more for Kade… than I did for Raylan…
I just felt Kade’s loss was much greater than Raylan’s. I understand her heart was broken… But I feel her relationship issues was more about trust than anything.

Some people when they break up… Chalk it up to lessons learned… Some people t

My first read by this author and I enjoyed the time she spent with attention to detail. I feel like you got to know the characters fully and were able to really connect or at least understand them so when they made their dumb choices you understood their reasoning despite being annoyed by them !! I will say when I read books that are told in a narrator style it takes a bit for me to get into the flow , but once established I felt it flowed well. I feel like the title really fit for a few reasons ...more

This review, along with a little author interview, and others posted over at my blog .

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

From the author’s website: Rylan Bradley is perfectly content with her single, thirty-something life. Love is the last thing on her mind—until she crosses paths with Wesley Kade. He is handsome, charming, and always there when she needs someone the most. But th

Sweet story about moving past heartbreak and finding happiness again. Rylan Bradley has spent the last two years focusing on her dance studio and avoiding relationships after she caught her boyfriend cheating on her. Wesley Kade has moved to Charlotte to start over after losing his wife. Both live in the same condo building and meet shortly after Kade moves in. Although neither one is ready to move on, they find something in each other that starts the healing process. There was a lot of shifting ...more

This story was an emotional tale but also could be seen as very healing. The descriptions especially of little Lily Eve's ballet classes were phenomenal. I could really envision what the author was trying to portray. I felt for both Rylan and Kade as they struggled with their own past hurts and how they finally we able to come together to heal one another. I even felt for Kade's late wife, the loss and the things she will miss in her family's lives. I strongly recommend this book it's healing an ...more

Big thanks to Courtney for the ARC copy for review.

This was such a touching and heartfelt story. Rylan and Kade's journey is one of heartbreaking loss, healing and second chances. Two people who are emotionally broken from their harrowing pasts and have given up on love, unexpectedly find one another when they least expect it. Courtney definitely delivered in this moving novel about finding happiness once again.

“Hearts will break and people will hurt you, darling.” Her mother said. “But when you let those people control your outlook on the life, you only allow them to have a greater hold on your happiness. Once you accept the fact that every day is a new day to begin again, life becomes a much easier path to walk.” 35 likes
“The guilt fell upon him like a hammer to a nail. He dropped onto his bed, grabbing the picture frame that sat next to it. I’m sorry were the words that repeatedly came out of his mouth. All he could think was, how could he do that to her? To the woman he vowed to spend the rest of his life with. His stomach hurt just from thinking about it.” 2 likes
