This is my book from Saudi Arabia for the Read The World challenge. I was looking for Saudi novels, and found Algosaibi because, as well as being a government minister and then ambassador, he wrote poetry and novels; one of which, An Apartment Called Freedom, was translated into English. What intrigued me enough to buy this memoir is that some of his books were banned in Saudi Arabia, including An Apartment Called Freedom — which was published while he was the Saudi ambassador to the UK and Irel

Such a great role model
The guy who held 4 ministries tells his story. The king loved him, but one day he criticized the king publicly imitating his role model, almutanabi, so he got fired. He was then appointed as ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Bahrain then London.
After the book was published he held the ministry of Labor before passing away in 2010.

My all time favorite book! I can never get bored of reading it.
The first half of the book was a bit boring but the second half was amazing.
This book is a treasure, deserve more than five stars, and definitely want to read more for the author

A great insight into the life (my point of view) of one of the few significant Arabs. He delivers a great lesson to the readers about management and other topics as well.
Avery good book, Author gives actual stories of his life from the management point of views.
Incredible and approachable look into the life of one of the Kingdom's brightest; as well as the birth of the power the Kingdom enjoys today amongst many of its sectors.

A must read !!! One of few people who inspired me personally and wished i met and worked with..
Definitely a role model, must read by young.
Highly recommended, talking about management and how to handle different organizations starting from university, ministry and ending with embassy.

Hands down, one of the best leadership books I read!
This book talks about the best ways to manage the ministries in the gulf countries, and how to focus in the progression instead of the self interest.

Few things I have enjoyed about this book, besides the good examples and real life situations he has offered in a different perspective, I feel like he has given an excellent image of the Saudi ruling family. I must admit, almost through all my studies dealing with the gulf, i have always been given a negative view of the ruling family of Saudi. One of my well-known professors made us watched a documentary in this regard and she was featured in it - I don't say it has changed my opinion complete
