Nothing I want to try.

Not my favorite knitting sock pattern book. Some patterns are really ugly although there are some cute children socks, but I have yet to make anything in this book. Although I might try the Aran (medium weight) yarn socks although I usually like a finer yarn because it is more comfortable when I have to stand on my feet for a long time, the larger Aran or bulky yarn presses into my skin so it would only be good for house socks.
I have to admit that the drawings for explaining the knitting process is very clear for a beginner to knitting socks and it leaves almost no chance of making mistakes.
128 pages and bought used in a larger paperback format with lots of pictures.

January 23, 2016PERFECT. This collection has great directions, a huge variety of styles and takes the fear out of knitting socks! I had never made a pair of socks before and can now say I HAVE! And they’re beautiful! I highly suggest this book for any knitter, as some of the patterns are for more experienced knitters and quite a few are great for beginners. Lovely images, clear and concise patterns. An overall GREAT book.

Mostly unimpressed with this collection. Almost all are cuff-down patterns. Might be good start for beginner sock knitters, giving options for tube socks and some straight-knit bed socks, small booties, etc. Nice ideas for embellishments, but this is largely sewn on cuffs, use of decorative crochet or embroidery. Some good colourwork/striping ideas and info.

I was generally unimpressed with this book. It consists mostly of very basic sock patterns with a few cutesy touches tacked on for variety. I might recommend it for a new sock knitter who wants something a little different but doesn't feel like learning a lot of new techniques.

Really fun and creative things to make. Different from the others.

All patterns are cuff down socks. Most are with heavier yarns than sock yarn.
