She was the one love that Miles vowed never to abandon. He was the one lover who kept her craving more. Can she now recover from the most profound betrayal a woman can endure?
The One and More is the second in a series of erotic romance thrillers by Belle Ami that charts the steamy, star--crossed love affair of Adelia Lindstrom and Miles Bremen.
Bound by a connection as pure as it is red hot, and deep as it is pulsing with desire, the two are forced from each other's hearts, and beds--by the most chilling act of sabotage--by Karolin, the twisted sister of Miles, whose design on the couple's twin children may even lead to murder.
Newly estranged and with custody of their toddlers, Adelia is now involved in a titillating love affair with Detective David Weiss. However, when they uncover new evidence in the death of Adelia's parents, it causes her to revisit the past, and Miles's role in it all. When her children are once again threatened by Karolin, the event becomes international, drawing in the FBI. Can Adelia save her children and reignite her once-consuming feelings for Miles, or will David win her heart?

2 "Too Much Trainwreck" Stars Immediately after finishing The One I went and bought this on Amazon for the way overpriced amount of 4.99. Having just finished let's just say this is the first book I return.
I honestly can't say one thing I enjoyed about this book. Adelia was a train wreck from start to finish, ruining David's life, the one man I truly liked and thought deserved a HEA. Karoline is still around wrecking havoc in everyone's lives and her even stupider brother finally decides a year later to determine if his ex-wife was telling the truth about not cheating. Hello, she was raped, brutalized and you threatened to expose those photos to the world. Nice, real nice.
I just cant justify anyone's reaction in this book. Clearly mine is bordering on rage as I reflect on the awfulness and stupidity of each character. Karoline, however by the end is seemingly out of there lives for good but that doesn't mean everyone else is not stirring up their own drama.
The sex is so often it became skip-worthy, not to mention the often nonsensical smutty language of the author does not play out correctly. Instead of being turned on I was grossed out and wondering how a vagina could possibly be the squishy vestige of femininity everywhere without drowning in it's own juices. Gross I know. Plus the characters 'sex talk ' was tawdry and as for Adelia, her moans were the same no matter which man she was with, it made me feel dirty.
The death of Adelia's parents is finally solved and even that whole dramatic element fell flat. When I got the end of the book and realized Oh Shit, it's not over, the love affair/triangle will get it's own book I realized how done I am with the idiocy of these characters. The story continues to throw useless information at us and I was skimming more than I was reading. Unfortunately this will be a return and an unfinished series for me. God help these characters.
And this was one crazy story. I really don't know where to begin. The story starts with Miles being upset about his divorce from his wife Adelia, but after being blackmailed with pictures of her engaging in racy sex with another man, how could he stay with her.
Adelia is trying to come to grips with her divorce from Miles. She believes he is the one that set his parents car up to crash, causing their deaths. She leans on her friend and detective David for support and soon finds herself falling in love with him.
But the truths of the past begin to reveal themselves and Adelia and Miles realize they have been both wrong. Adelia never had consensual sex with another man and Miles did not kill her parents. But then who is responsible? And what the hell else can happen! A lot...
This story had a very complicated dual plot that the author did an amazing job of revealing slowly and at the right time. Why not five stars? Well I felt sometimes the characters were rushed in at times it made no sense and I really felt that Lucas's character needed more play time to really see how he ticked especially when he was a key player in one of the plots unfolding. 4 stars.
I have to admit that I didn’t love this book as much as I enjoyed the first book in this series. The writing was just as good, the story just as interesting, and the sex just as steamy hot. I just found my loyalties being tested too far, and the manner in which ongoing plots were resolved was unsatisfying. In the first novel, we met and fell in lust with Miles and Adelia. We hated his sister Karolin and were confused by how Detective David Weiss was going to play into all of this. But in the end, Miles and Adelia’s marriage was over. The One and More gave us a chance to really get to know David and the caring man he is. His love for Adelia is deep and pure and I finally felt like here was a hero we could root for to have a happily ever after. My biggest issue with this sequel was where my loyalties were supposed to lay. Was I supposed to feel more for Miles, who is kinky, sexy, her first love and the father of her children? Who is also a total ass, treated Adelia like crap, had no faith in her, and started this whole sordid affair of having children by Adelia so that Karolin could, in a sense, be a surrogate mother? Or was I supposed to feel more towards David, who was good, kind, loved Adelia enough to do the right thing, but apparently not enough to really fight for her? The murder of Adelia’s parents was a major theme in the first book, and a continuing one in this sequel. But for such a large part of the story, the resolution was too abrupt and unsatisfying. Karolin’s ending also left a bad taste in my mouth. While I will certainly read a future installment in this series to find out what finally happens with these characters, it is almost against my will. I would have liked to see this resolved in two books since the murder mystery story arc was completed. I do enjoy reading Belle Ami’s work, and find myself pulled in to the sexy story and even hotter love scenes. But at this point, I feel like I am reading more to find out the conclusion than I am for the journey.
The One was the first book by Belle Ami that I had read and it was like a guilty pleasure to me. Yes I really enjoyed it. Miles was one of those guys you hated, then thought well maybe he isn't so bad after all. Once you were convinced they were great together, bam, nope I was right Miles is a king ass! Okay yes somethings happened that Miles had a reason to be upset but never do what he did. So I was very excited to read the next book to find out what happens to all of these characters.
Let me start by saying I usually try to never give away any spoilers, however I feel to get my feelings out about this book I must add some so I have hidden them so read at your own risk. We are left with Adelia picking up the pieces of her life and starting something new with David, the detective that helped her get her life back. Adelia and Miles co parent while never talking or seeing each other, no it is not ideal but it works.
Miles decides to never love again because it gives away too much power and he cannot let that happen again. However, there is just something nagging at Miles that won't go away about Adelia. Finally he cannot stand it anymore and three years after their divorce he hires a private detective to investigate his wife's "infidelity". Of course that reveals the big secret. Now Miles wants Adelia back and will do whatever it takes to get her. Will Adelia find a future with David which is safe and loving or risk it all to go back to Miles?
So many mixed feelings here! So in the first book Adelia really grows up and grows a back bone, here in this book I kept asking myself where did that woman go? She just goes along with whatever Miles tells her with an attitude of, oh well, it must be good for the children. Adelia Bremen (ex-wife, mother, equestrian rider), & Miles Bremen (twin brother, father, green way capital) are now divorced & pursuing their lives in a now different manner. They have 2 children together: Fallyn Bremen (daughter), & Liam Bremen (son). They have joint custody but the children stay with mom the most. They are attended by Gwyneth (nanny).
What kind of devious plan did Karolin Bremen (twin sister) concoct up?
Who are Dmitri Volvakov (Russian billionaire, geophysics), Varushka (Dmitri’s GF) & Sasha (Varushka’s son)? How will all the Bremen family members end up?
Warning: This book is for adults only & contains extreme violent or graphic adult content or profanity &/or sexually explicit scenarios. It may be offensive to some readers.
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written erotic suspense book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great erotic suspense movie, or paid-per-view mini TV series. Steamy sexually hot & adventurous & exciting to the end. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.
Thank you for the free Goodreads; paperback book Tony Parsons MSW (Washburn)
I absolutely loved book one, and I could not wait to get my hands on book 2. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. OMG so much drama happened. I’m glad Adelia is not so much of a push over anymore but I’m not really liking her character here. She’s stuck in between two great men. Miles, her ex-husband completely shattered her. Then you have David, the detective who picked up the pieces and helped Adelia become stronger. Both men have great significance in her life and she’s finding herself in love with both.
I guess for me that’s what I don’t like. The dangling between one man to the other because you are not sure what you want. I call BS. You know in your heart of hearts who is the one for you. Put on your big girl panties and make a decision, don’t turn yourself into a whore. But enough of that rant. This book, such a great follow-up from the first. Do I want to read book 3, yes and no. Yes because I really do have to know who Adelia ends up with. NO, because I can’t stand this indecisiveness. “One thing is for certain. Deciding which one will be the one will be an adventure.” No girl, don’t go THAT route.
I honestly don't know what to say. I feel like I wasted money on buying this book. Miles sister is a complete psycho and Adelia I couldn't stand in this book. She was acting like such a slut sleeping with David and then Miles and then David again. Miles was once again acting possessive and at times he annoyed the mess out of me. I hate the way the book ended and left you hanging with who the slut Adelia would pick. Such a shame if it had more to the story then the riding competitions and sex it probably would of been a better book. However the end is where action started to take place. To me the sex scenes were repetitive as in the first book. Always doing the same thing over and saying the same thing over. And the words used to describe the body parts just drove me insane. For a book to be erotic should of been describing the body parts and sex better. Anyways just had to point that out.
Belle Ami has done it again (Mama Mia!) First of all, I love this story which is filled with colorful characters, a fantastic story, glamorous settings and oh – did we mention SEX (lots of it!). Not only is this a sizzling page-turner with twists, turns and edge-of-your-seat satisfaction (and oh, did I already mention SEX, I mean over-the-top, never could have imagined that scene)!). Yes, this most satisfying novel is just what I needed to start the holidays, so go ahead; wrap it up, stick it under the tree, and watch them sigh (that is if you or your recipient want a fast-turning, fun read with plenty of – you got it, SEX)! I have read all her books starting with THE ONE and can’t wait for the next ONE. Keep them COMING!
*I received a copy through a Goodreads First Reads giveaway*
I quite enjoyed The One and More by Belle Ami. It was equally sexy/steamy as well as story driven and emotionally challenging for its characters as well as for me as a reader. I could feel Adelia's emotions through every step of the story and know she has a very difficult decision to make now.
I am intrigued to see how this one started as well as how it will end.
(While I haven't read the first in this series, I did not find that this took much away from the story line. All of the characters gave enough background to keep me from feeling lost/confused.)
I was allowed a copy of The One by Belle Ami via Netgalley. After reading the first book, I immediately jumped into this one. I loved this book!! Miles, Adelia, and David...each very strong characters with their own unique character traits. The passion and angst between them made me anxious to turn the next page, and the next page, and the next page. Let us not forget the added characters, Karolin and Lucas, who each played their unique role in making this story a mysterious read. The ending of this book did tie up some lose ends. But, one still remains....trying to wait patiently for book 3 :)
I rec'd this book 1 from net galley for an honest review. This is the 2nd book read by this author and hoping for a 3rd.The characters are well developed and the story is well written. There is to much detail and back story to write in review, but this is a romance/dark erotica book. Lots of suspense, drama, twists and turns. Very emotional at times. Worth the read for sure which is why i read 2nd book and it only gets better!!!!I loved the use of areas i live near and accuracy, New Hope Bucks County Pa.
The One and More grabbed me from the very first page. This book is a guilty pleasure that holds you until the very end and then leaves you wishing for more. It is as intelligent as it is sexy with characters that are thoughtfully fleshed out and settings that draw you into worlds of luxury, romance and adventure. Just when you think you have figured it all out, the story adds another layer of psychological complexity. Added to this, the sex scenes are like butter creme frosting on a decadent cake. Can't wait til the next one.
I love the second book and I am glad to see that Adelia is a much stronger person in this book. You really can't see where the story in going because "challenges" comes from everywhere and keep you guessing what is going to happen next. I love that at this point in the book you really can't predict what is going to happen or who Adelia is going to choose and makes me wonder if maybe we will have the 3 of them together instead. Hopefully we will get the next book soon! Can't wait.
