I was to happy that this book was very short. I did not like the characters dead or alive and I found the writing to be written really bad.

When I started this book I loved the premise and was in the mood for a paranormal with vampires. However, I was simply disappointed. First, I felt so much for Haley even when she kept making poor decisions and I wanted the “nerd” to get her payback. I wanted the hot vampire, Dorian, to fall in love with the nerdy girl, Haley, but their initial meeting which I was hoping would be intriguing turned out to be a letdown.

The initial meeting took forever to happen, but surprisingly it did not bo

My Review:
Yes, the Young Adult genre has a lot of vampire books. You might ask yourself if it's worth taking the chance on YET another vampire book. Well, I am here to tell you that you should take a chance on Birth of the Vampire. It's a fun quick read, and even though it is not the lengthiest book, it has a lot of interesting life observations; hidden nuggets of wisdom, if you will. Oh, and it stays true to it's genre, it does vampires justice. I loved that even though this book takes place i

Haley Scott is a down on her luck teenager. Her mother is literally crazy, and she has bounced between foster care and her mother’s care for most of her seventeen years. She is currently living with her occasionally abusive, borderline alcoholic half uncle Kevin (her mother’s half brother). Haley isn’t popular, has no friends and she tends to keep to herself and coast along without being noticed.

Dorian Vanderlind, the vampire, is spending the Christmas with his aunt and cousins at the family cas

I'm swamped with reading. I know being a book lover that sounds like something that can never happen but being a book review this happens every week! I decided to give this one a try, even with my crazy schedule, because #1 It's Vampires and although I could have stopped at #1 I'll move on to #2 It's only 156 pages. Easy read!

I am so glad I decided to read this!

First of all. DO NOT THINK Twilight. Yes, there are humans and vampires involved. Is it Twilight? No. Totally different.

Yay... now that

3.8. Mild spoilers below

!!!!! Some mild spoilers!!!!! Don't read if you don't like to know anything at all, but I'm not telling too much below just a few obvious things.
Ok I did like it or do like it but this chuck is just such a bull headed idiot that I want someone to slap some sense into her.
Ok I get it, she had an awful time growing up, well not all the way obviously, but if she was so dam smart why is she acting so stupid now? I honestly don't get, first how she acted after she was turned,

Birth of the Vampire, nice story.
The characters and the story are good.
The flow of the story is great.
It’s easy to follow and understand.

The characters, Dorian, Haley are good.
They are easy to love and relate with.
Dorian, a vampire who is curious to vampire-mortal love (the one that his cousin has).
Haley is a girl who is not much very fortunate; with her having to live with his uncle and endure bullying in school.
The two characters wi

BIRTH OF THE VAMPIRE is not your ordinary vampire story. Haley Scott lives with her uncle in a small town where no one cares for her and she’s tricked into believing if she gives herself to a boy she likes, he’ll announce their relationship. At a party, her secret is cruelly revealed and she flees in shame and anger. Dorian Vanderlind is a vampire, visiting his relatives, when he’s invited to a party. He follows Haley and when she has a spectacular care crash, he turns her into a vampire. Howeve ...more

In all honesty I thought the book was okay. The name of the book and the Cover fits the story well. The main character is Haley Scott and she is your everyday teenager with her set of family problems. I have mixed feeling about Haley, one minute i'm hoping things are going to work out for her and then the next I wanted to slap the crap out of her. I like how the book has more than one person's point of view,so that

The book opens up in a way that leaves me wanting more and I have to go on - I started this book earlier today and I couldn't stop until it was finished. There are very well-developed characters who seem realistic both in nature and in their conversations, something I'm not finding enough of lately. Early on I made several predictions thinking I'd made how the whole book would play out but - nope. It took a very different turn and I will

Made me laugh!

Dorian is a bored vampire home to visit his family for the holidays. Haley is a jaded high school senior living with her half-uncle while her crazy mother is institutionalized. Both meet at a high school party with all the usual drama.

A split-second decision leads Dorian to turn Haley after a fatal car accident. While the plot is not terribly unique, I truly enjoyed the unexpected and humorous inner dialogue. Dorian expected a fawning, grateful and compliant scion. Haley wonders w

This book had great potential, the story line seems really intriguing. I was quite annoyed by the fact that some of the chapters were almost exact repeats of the previous just from a different characters point of view. I understand the author wants you to see both sides but a word for word repeat is not the way to go. Also the random short point of view of the minor characters such as Tommy and Sheila were pointless, just page fillers. I haven't fully decided if I will give the 2nd book a try, i ...more

Just so so

this book was very predictable I know from the beginning pretty much everything that happened and really should be a short story, not a book. I probably could read 3 or 4 of these so called book's after dinner or with my morning coffee. I was not happy with it at all, boring. Another half heartened story, I should have passed on. zzz zzz zzz Cc

Okay

Okay

I think it was a little disappointing. I really enjoyed the Vanderlind Castle series and I started out liking this book too. I think it starts to get disappointing once she is turned into a vampire. The main heroine comes off like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum once she's changed in my opinion.

Excellent

Kayla Twist is amazing this story kept me engrossed throughout the whole thing. At first I expected Ericka to be with Dorian but when he turned Haley it through me for a loop.
