I loved the descriptions of the world surrounding the Walker brothers! I mean…come on…giant insects?! I think spiders the size of large dogs scare me more than white walkers from The Song of Ice and Fire series. The relationship between Logan and Corbin progressed perfectly, and no time was wasted leading up to conflict. The giant bugs were there right near the beginning. I enjoyed the action, even though I got bogged down in some of the descriptions of the fighting. I ended up loving the chara ...more

I was fortunate enough to meet this author at the booth he hosted at the Rochester Convention in 2015. I went to all three days of Roccon and passed by his booth everyday intrigued, but not yet ready to decide if thats what I wanted my big gift to be for that convention. It was really exciting to be able to talk to an author about their passion and creation as well as seeing him with his adorable family. When I finally decided the last day that I had to have all the books in this series, I clear ...more

Brothers Corbin and Logan Walker have been training since childhood. Corbin has become a fierce warrior, whereas Logan is a slacker. This causes much strife between them. After Skex attack their town, they are tasked to warn the Fal kingdom that they will be attacked next. They barely make it there in time and again have to join in the fight. They become heroes and are invited to a gala to celebrate the victory.

I always love when I read a book from a genre that usually isn’t my go-to genre and I LOVE the book. I am a firm believer to give everything a shot at least once. You never know when you’ll get surprised.

Secrets of the Elders is an awesome read. I initially got sucked into the cavern environment, clearly envisioning the surroundings thanks to the author’s vivid descriptions. There is a wonderful mix of characters, both human and creature.

This book is a great introduction to the Chronicles of Acadia series and the world in which it is set. There is a gradual development and introduction to the people and environment, increasing slowly through the novel while still being quite intense at times, giving the reader time to adjust to what is happening but without being too slow moving or leaving them without explanation. There is clearly room to grow and develop further in the series allowing new

I won this book in the Goodreads Firstreads.

I have mixed feelings about this book. One part of me felt like there were a lot of cliches, another part of me had a hard time adjusting to the author's world, but by the end of this book I really wanted to read the next one. So, I guess I could say that this book grew on me.

From an overall perspective, I really like the plot. I think it's awesome and it was fun as a reader to be kept guessing on who the good guy and bad guy really was, although I fe

An entertaining read and easy enough to follow if you enjoy adventure novels although there are times when it enters into more complicated territory with the concepts, names and locations it references, which makes it a tad distracting. The story moved at a good pace with good twists. The characters are developed well enough that you understand their general personalities and sense of humour very quickly. This is aided by the fact that the majority of the book is driven by direct speech from the ...more

This book was great! It was very energetic and kept my interest with all the twists and turns. It made me think... which is awesome. It's a sign of a good book when you think about it when you aren't even reading it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure. I'm looking forward to reading the next book!

Futuristic story of a time when people had to go live inside the planet. When the village is raided two brothers try to warn others. The story is of the brothers adventure. I had a hard time keeping interested in this book.
