When a book comes along that fills your heart with the beautiful message it carries, it leaves behind a feeling of warmth – books like these touch the soul and remind us that beauty can come from destruction. Love can rise from pain and that bad experiences can sometimes offer the greatest of opportunities. Bone Deep is one of those rare, unique books that I know will be one of my favorite go-to reads when I need just this kind of a reminder. Krister and Cambria are two characters that will pry ...more

This author is one to watch, she tells a very good story yet again.

Its full of action, regret, secrets and angst that will take you to places you don't want to visit but have to.

I'm not giving anything away on this book as whatever I write will give too much away. There are reviews above mine and below and I have nothing more to add but for the excellence of this author.

I am so excited for this book. I adore Brooklyn and am thrilled to pieces with her newest novel.

She stares at me, tracing her finger over my face, my eyebrows, the two-day-old stubble on my jaw. I catch her hand and kiss her knuckles, then wrist. “It’s just…” Jesus, how do I say this? “My life’s a little complicated right now, and I’m trying not to drag you into the middle of it.” The look she gives me is one I’m starting to recognize. The one that makes it seem like she understands there

After reading Fragile Line by Brooklyn Skye, I couldn't wait to read more of her work. So I jumped when offered the chance to read and review Bone Deep. As much as I had loved Fragile Line though, I didn't feel the same way about Bone Deep. While Bone Deep was a decent story, it wasn't one that I loved or want to go back and read. This one just didn't offer anything much in the way of new or different and is a story that I thought was predicta

Sometimes I get this strong desire for a really emotional read. When I read the blurb for Bone Deep that desire flared up bright and I knew I had to read it. My emotions while reading it were such a mixed up mess. At the same time I'd be both praying something happened between Krister and Cambria and

A story with a long build up, gradually getting better than the previous chapter.

Krister Ledoux is a 18 yr. old college kid that has his life forever changed because what still haunts him a year later is the accident his father caused and went to jail for. The people that ended up dead. And the hate mail he still receives. He goes out of his way, leaving behind everything he knew to find the person sending him those letters. He then meets this girl at the train station and finds some connection

3.5 Stars - Bone Deep is an intriguing new adult novel that delivers a multitude of emotions through its complex characters and unique storyline. Brooklyn Skye definitely caught my eye with this one – the premise so fascinating and full of potential for forging an emotional connection to the characters. Krister and Cam are caught in an absolutely heartbreaking situation made all the more complicated by their instant chemistry and unavoidable connection. I enjoyed exploring their relationship, th ...more

What happens when your life changes in the flash of an eye, the drop of a hat or the smashing of metal? Does this change you? Can you put yourself back together; keep going everyday?

These are the questions that are asked and answered by Krister and Cambria. They do not know that the events of one day will change their lives forever.

Krister has just been trying to get back to a normal life. No more stares, no more people feeling sorry for the kid, no more look who it is. He just wants a

Ever since I first read Brooklyn Sky’s STRIPPED, I’ve been a huge fan, so when I found out that she had another New Adult novel out I was beyond excited. Staying true to her previous stunning work, BONE DEEP was emotional and sexy- everything you could possibly ask for in a New Adult novel.

What always strikes me immediately about Skye’s work is how well she writes male POV, and BONE DEEP is written completely in the POV of her leading man, Krister. He’s a complex main character with a tortured p

Krister Ledoux has tried everything to distance himself from his father, but no matter what he does he is haunted by the accident that his father caused while driving a train that killed 8 people and injured many others. Now his father is awaiting trial and sitting in prison and Krister feels the urge to discover the lives of those his father killed. If that wasn't enough, Krister is recieving letters from someone about his father's case and he knows it is from someone who lost someone they care ...more

This book had sort of a slow burn to it. Things moved along at a steady pace, peaking my interest and keeping me interested throughout. This is a story of two people who had their lives shattered by one moment in time. Cambria who is trying to help herself and her brother move on from her mothers death and Krister who refuses to let go of the past and the mistakes his father made that he feels like he should pay for.
At times I really found myself getting frustrated with Krister and his need to

This is pretty much a typical NA book where the main protagonists are in despair and they find this person who makes everything better. Throw in a little twist and some more drama and that's pretty much it. Though I'm not saying this as a bad thing. I will admit that a lot of this book is pretty cliche, but the writing was engrossing, and there were some intriguing details that I've never seen before. And I think those little details and Brooklyn Skye's talent makes all the difference. I didn't ...more

The first time I started to read Bone Deep I could not get past the first two chapters. The main character and narrator was a little too bitter for my taste. After lossing the book for over a year before having it returned to me, I found myself more sympathetic.

Krister LeDoux has cause to be bitter. He is starting adulthood as the son of a man who killed eight people. He is also getting cryptic notes that make little sense, add that to the normal teenage angst of broken relationships and college

***The best part of Bone Deep was the ending because of how everything came back together. =)

This is the first book I’ve read from Brooklyn Skye, and I look forward to reading more books from her very soon. I give this book 4 full moons and recommend it to readers out there that enjoy the New Adult genre.

I've read books where I predicted the ending before I even started but didn't mind because I had fun getting there. Unfortunately, this isn't really one of those books. When I read the description, I didn't see that it had been primarily shelved as New Adult Romance, and if I had noticed that before I started, I probably wouldn't have bothered with this. That being said, it's not bad, I just didn't find it very compelling.

Lots of feels in this one. Grief and guilt cause Krister to seek out the families of the people killed in an accident caused by his Father. Grief and guilt draw him to the sad but beautiful girl he keeps running into at the train station. Together, they help each other heal, but their connection may not be strong enough when Cam finds out who Krister really is. It's a great, original story with very likable characters, a few twists and just enough angst.

The three star rating is more for the writing technique. The characters were characterized well, but I just don't think they had very many positive or interesting qualities. The ending was also very rushed and finished in a really lazy way.
