Coverage on CAD and its impact, C and C++ programming are presented for engineering problems with database and graphics as the bases and finite elements, optimisation and soft computing methods as applications. Initial developments towards C language and orientation to CAD in engineering applications is followed by programming approaches for engineering applications, with a number of examples in C code demonstrating easy adaptability to solving problems.
