It's homecoming week at Ashley Waters, but Sang Sorenson has a lot more on her mind than dresses and crowns. Silas's troubled past—full of secrets he and his team thought they'd buried—comes back to haunt him, threatening to ruin everything.

Silas tries to deal, but guilt weighs heavily on him and Sang realizes she might be the only one who can help him keep it together.

You are probably wondering, if this series is bad, and i hate it, why do i keeping on reading it?

It's simple

curiosity is a bitch. And between us i'm reading this for the eye rolling and the lols
This is ridicules, come on.

This is the SEVENTH BOOK, THE SEVENTH!!! and what is happening NOTHING that's what.

Honestly i'm baffled by the high ratings!

Lets see:
Sang sneezed> lets write a chapter
Sang needed new panties> another chapter
Sang kissed a boy> another chapter
But Sang liked that boy too a

Will Silas finally have his chance?

Guess which hot football player is nominated for homecoming king? That’s right, Silas! Will Sang be nominated for Queen? Ooo, how cute would their dance be?

Living situation – Woohoo, Sang is outta her house and into Nathan’s.

Shopping - Another fun shopping scene with Sang and the guys looking for formal wear. Gabriel helping her get dressed is one of the best scenes. Sang and Mr. Blackbourne meet up with flirty Dr. Green for everyday clothes shopping and Mr. B

I was this series #1 fan, until this book. Sang's "timidity" is way overkill at this point. Gotcha, she was extremely sheltered. Gotcha, she is shy and unsure. However, if we are to continue to believe that 9 guys are falling over themselves in love with her, we HAVE to see more substance from her character. I mean, seriously? She doesn't even know when she is cold or hot, when she is hungry or not. The guys tell her to put on more clothes (clothes they picked out, bought, and packed for her no ...more

*sigh* these books are so ridiculous it's hilarious but so addicting it's embarrassing.

I remember when I finished reading Push and Shove and I read the excerpt for House of Korba. I feel the need to say that "shrieking and squealing" were low key compared to what I did. After that day "stalking" was also a nice term to what I did to this book. It bec

Ok y'all...let's be honest.

None of us who are reading this series really cares about the scary drama. It would be a lot better if there was just one bad guy instead of 4 or 5. We want all of them to fall in love. We want the relationships to progress.

Unfortunately, this did not happen in this book. There was a lot of external drama that took away from the growing relationships. I appreciated the look into Silas's life but I feel like the drama with his brother could have been put in a later book

Rating : between 1 and 4 stars

What i've learnt reading the Ghost Bird series :
- I'm a bit of a masochist;
- Fiction is an amazing thing where there is leftover bacon;
- I have no shield against cuteness;
- I'm rooting for unconventional relationships;
- I might have a soft spot for super pretty heroines;
- Having 9 boyfriends seems really difficult to handle;
- I'm so thankful that authors exist.
I read this slow and it still went by so very fast. :( In all honestly, I wasn't expecting half the things mentioned in this book until the next one. So I'm very happy with how fast it progressed.

♥ Blackbourne is such a softy and he's not making it easy not to fall in love with him.
♥ Some of our favorite friends/foes are back!
♥ Silas: hot blooded Greek perfection
♥ Pranks
♥ Gabriel licking people?
♥ Dr. Sean *swoon*

My boy love order has been updated :)
1. Dr. Sean (always)
2. Mr. Blackbourne
3. Victo

This book focused a lot more on Silas and I LOVE it! I feel more for Silas than anything. He just was so adorable.

Throughout this book bomb threats were being called into the school. Sang is now living with Nathan so there was basically no Marie in this one. But there is Theo who is Silas older brother who is a pyro. He also killed his and Silas mom and a priest while they were still living in Greece.

Yikes. Not going to lie, forced reading! This book was torture! Sang's sheltered life before was sweet but now? It's annoying. I seriously couldn't take any of the characters for anything other than a joke.

Nothing happened in this book. They go shopping, sang thinks about her feelings. Guys, can't ever stop commenting on how adorable she is and how they all love her.

Well, I'm done with this series!

Not as good as the other books in this series...I was a little disappointed and am I the only one getting a little frustrated with the Volto saga? I sort of want it to be resolved so they can be off doing some other adventure. I also felt like the intensity that North had in previous books was gone, and I felt like we just glazed over the characters instead of getting inside them like the other novels. Maybe the book could've been a bit longer, allowing more character love? In saying this though ...more

sigh....honestly I was a bit disappointed with this one. I think it was that the plot wasn't as exciting as in the other books. I also am getting annoyed with Sang. I understand she is timid but it should be getting better by this point. At least have her take a bit of initiative with the boys! It was still a good book but not great.

I'd definitely like to see that ;).

Okay...I feel a bit like a traitor after rating HOK. All of the other books in the series have made it to my favorites shelf with a five star rating and I feel like this one should be there too.

But I just can't put it there!

It was a great book (as usual). A lot of action and drama. New kisses. New characters. Humour. Mystery. More Academy insight ;). HOT GUYS being extra hot (of cour

I just finished devouring yet another amazing book of C.L Stone! Ladies who love Silas!! There's a lot of Silas parts in this story! There was lots of drama, adorable romance, fights, threats, and fun which go together quite nicely if I do say so myself! I recommend this book to anyone! I can't wait for the next book!

Have you ever read a series that you have a love/hate relationship with? For me, that series is The Academy by C.L Stone. It is one of those series where I can't read them all back to back as I will get all frustrated but they are also a series I find that I can't put down though sometimes I want too. House of Korba is Book #7 and gives us readers a further look into the Korba family which for those who are unaware is Silas's family. We learn how he came to be in the Academy and what favors were ...more

Sang and Silas get to know each other better in this book - yay! Silas is the strong, silent guy in the group, and like the others, he has a troubled past. When some of the local churches go up in flames, Silas's brother, Theo, is a prime suspect. Trying to keep an eye on Theo, protecting Sang AND all the stuff going on at Ashley Waters (bomb threats, etc.) stretches the group thin. They have to ask the Academy for help with homecoming. If Sang wasn't on the Academy radar before, she is now.

24/11/2016: If Sang ends up as Homecoming Queen via write-in or something, I am going to snap my shit.

25/11/2016: Luckily, Sang was not homecoming queen, but apparently she had so many votes that she could have been if the Academy didn't change them. *facepalm*

The good news? House of Korba was a big step up from Push and Shove. The bad news? Despite how much plot happened in this book, we still know nothing about the Academy.

Many fans may be disappointed that this book is plot heavy and not roma

Wow, this is a slow burn story for sure but lots of things, good things are starting to happen. I loved having the story of Silas. I love how he, Nathan and North all are very intense but so differently. I liked almost everything in this book except for one thing. Sang. Sang needs to step it up now. She's too naive and weak still when it comes to the boys. She needs to show that she's learning, speak her mind. Claim her own place. In this book she felt like a mindless doll and it frustrated me. ...more

I love Sang, she is the best heroine ever. I hate the bad stuff that she goes through. Also, I love how the boys protect her. I think it is intense yet beautiful. They make the story funny and serious when it needs to be.

My favourite boy is North. Silas is my second favourite. Then, Mr. Blackbourne rounds out my top three. Each boy brings a special and unique quality to the book. I loved that I got to see more Silas. He was sweet, protective, and sexy as hell. These are the many reasons why I l

Sang has finally moved out of her house and into Nathan's house but she stays with the other boys off and on due to remodeling of Nathan's house at this time a lot.

Sang and her harem go on a few shopping trips for new wardrobes and getting ready for homecoming.

We get a couple of more guys with a stolen kiss or two....4 down, 5 to go ;)

I liked getting to know more of Silas' history with his family, and I liked the moments she had with North but I want the thing with Volto and the principal to be over and it's getting a little long to be resolved. It was also shorter than some of the books in the series so we didn't get to have Sang with a lot of the guys. I want her to initiate something and be bolder with them instead of hiding from her feelings. I loved the pictures and the sweet talk from Silas and I wouldn't mind reading m

Giving it only 4 stars because the story was a bit slow for me. I don't know if my lack of time of reading this affected it, because for the past 6 books, I finished it all almost in one sitting. Anyway, I still loved it. The guys were swoon worthy as usual. Big things are gonna happen soon, so I'm definitely looking forward to
