The Dragon's Test is book #3 in The Dragon's Champion series. Bearing the scars of defeat, Erik must now race to protect his home from the powerful enemies that have declared war on his family. Outnumbered and outmatched he must hold off the advancing horde until help arrives. To fail would bring the destruction of the Middle Kingdom, and all that he holds dear. Meanwhile, Al must finally deal with his brother Threnton, King of the dwarves of Roegudok Hall, if he is to have any chance to restore the Keeper of Secrets and help Erik survive the impending onslaught. Each night brings with it powerful new foes that flock to the warlock’s army as the tides of darkness sweep through the land, yet few allies stand with Erik and his friends. They will have to find a way to band together if they are to have any chance of keeping the enemy from regaining Nagar’s Secret.
Sam is a very lucky guy. He juggles work in such a way that he makes sure to spend enough time with his loving wife and five sons. He is blessed to be writing full time now. In his spare time he is an avid powerlifter, and competes from time to time.
He spent nearly five years serving as a U.S. Diplomat and absolutely loved the experience, but decided to move back home. Outside of the U.S. he has lived in Latvia, Hungary, and Armenia. He speaks Russian, Hungarian, and Armenian. (He used to speak some Latvian too, but he has no one to practice with anymore…)
He has a large, happy dog. He plays the Elder Scrolls series. His favorite superhero is Wolverine, but Batman is a close second.
If the kids go to bed at a reasonable hour, he will cuddle up with his wife to watch Scrubs reruns, the Big Bang Theory, Castle, and Burn Notice.

A magnificent third installment of The dragon's champion! this one has action, evil doings, evil creatures and likable characters, all rolling at you like a boulder downhill!! rousing plot line also fills the bill-A keeper and a must read!
Continuing on from book 2, this sees an epic battle take place between Erik and Senator Bracken. Adds in some new characters and exits some existing ones. Will Erik ever get his own body back and become the hero ?
I enjoyed reading this book. It is full of magic. And different magical creatures and people . I look forward to reading more from this author . Happy reading
Again, as with the previous part of the series, the author keep blasting us with new elements without foreshadow or warning. And it is getting worse. The ending is the most jarring of all. It just doesn't make sense. It might be some sort of bait for us to buy the next book but it just makes me angry. I have enough of this.
The story overall was good but there are moments that is clumsy and contrived which quite ruin some things. From what I can see, there are three main story threads:
One, the main one is Erik's story. It is the best of all the story threads, The discoveries, learning and action, it is gripping. It is the best part. The other is not so.
The second is Al's adventure, which is probably the most clumsy, relying heavily on the ghost, the only ghost in the entire story, to make it work. I had been confused by the presence of the ghost in the earlier book, being the only ghost and all and with no explanation whatsoever, but now it seems that it is a plot device to make Al's escape work. Very inelegant. His overall adventure is also quite cliché and formulaic. It is almost a bore really.
The third is Eldrik's. Now his story is extremely contrived. Everything happening in his story is forced. It is quite clear that the author is just pushing Eldrik to follow a path instead of letting Eldrik's character and personality to drive his actions. In a way this drowns Eldrik's character, reducing him to being a puppet in author's control instead of a real character with life and personality who lives in the story. That makes it the most disappointing part of the book. His story is one of the worst story I ever read if it had been a stand alone. As it was, it just a unsightly blemish for an otherwise fine adventure story.
The series is starting to disappoint me more and more. The faults are multiplying and the story is getting killed more and more. The final chapter really killed my interest to continue reading. Hope others would enjoy it but I'm leaving.
I really liked this book. (Much better than book 2 in my opinion.) There was a lot of action, but not so much that it became dull. This book picks up right where the previous book left off and gives a great experience. The author doesn't just let the environment become stale either. He explores new areas and folds them in with new characters, which is not always the case with serial novels.
One thing I thought unique in this, as well as part of the 2nd book, is that the main antagonist is given a very human side. I'm not saying I started to root for the warlock by any means, but as the author doled out more backstory for him, he gained a lot of depth as a character. Also, SPOILER -- I liked seeing conflict between some of the antagonists themselves, so it isn't just a simple "good guys against bad guys story." There are multiple interests all struggling to succeed. Some alliances are made out of principle, while others appear to be merely out of convenience between two characters who have some overlapping interests. Overall, I really liked seeing some of the things from their points of view.
There are some typos, as is the case with almost any book out there, but the author does seem to be improving in that department as well.
The descriptions of magic and the battle scenes are very fun. They feel very imaginative and unpredictable, and yet they don't seem to be breaking the "rules" of this particular series. Overall, I would recommend this to any lover of the fantasy genre.
Was kinda disappointed with this book. Was expecting more dragon to human companionship but ended up being something totally different. It was a good read though. Sad parts though those poor dragons wish I could just free them all from the evil. The picture of book and title gave me an impression that it was gonna be something better but never happened till end and even then it was a plot twist. I am wondering where are the female dragons. Erik should find one and have her as his mate and then they can be together forever and they can live peacefully in a dragon sized house with enough space for dragon family and normal human guards or servants.
