Multi-award-winning author of more than twenty best-selling Regency Historical Romances, Donna Hatch is a hopeful romantic and an adventurer at heart. Each book she writes is filled with wit and heart and plenty of swoon-worthy romance. Donna sings, plays the harp, and loves to ballroom dance. I hadalready read all three book in this collection and thought I'd go ahead and review it even though it's not released until August.
The Stranger She Married by Donna Hatch (5 stars) This is one of my favorite books! I've read it multiple times and plan on reading it many more times. Definitely a favorite in this collection and one I would recommend. This is a great start to a great series!
The Sweetest Kiss by Marie Higgins A fun regency story of childhood frenemies meeting up as adults and falling in love.
The Dukes Undoing by GG Vandagriff A fun start to a fun series. This is an enjoyable, lighthearted regency. I like the courtship between the Duke and Miss Edwards.
Read THE DUKE'S UNDOING in this box set and can't wait to read more. I've read a couple of books from Donna Hatch and have enjoyed them, and another book from Marie Higgins. Looking forward to finishing this collection.
This review for Love Unexpected by G.G. Vandagriff
Love Unexpected, a Regency-era mystery, is part of a new series, yet it contains some beloved characters (and one that we love to hate) from some of the other books by G.G. Vandagraff.
Marianne’s 12-year-old daughter, Gweet, (what a cute nickname for Margaret!), was so precocious. I love that she, upon meeting Captain Ernest Saunders, immediately proposed marriage to him. Though I wouldn’t have been quite so bold as to propose when I was that age, I could most certainly see myself being smitten by a handsome sea captain and wishing for that proposal!
It was interesting to delve a little into the world of horseracing and the nefarious activities that can take place in that world of high stakes. The mystery surrounding the death of the jockey was well developed. It was not until the end of the story when the Captain solved the mystery that I knew the resolution, though I do want to take credit for having half of it figured out before then. The red herrings along the way served their purpose well.
Things seemed a little choppy at the beginning, but the story was interesting and sweet, and if it remained that way at the end, I no longer noticed.
I loved reading Donna Hatch's story - The Stranger She Married. I've always been a sucker for Cinderella type stories, and Ms. Hatch does not disappoint! Great writing. Exciting story. I recommend this story to readers who love romance!
G.G. Vandagriff is an excellent writer, and her Regency Romance "The Duke's Undoing" is on my list of favorites. I love to laugh at the characters, and I love a good intrigue, and this book had everything I enjoy about reading historical romance. Another great book I highly recommend!
Purchased this great collection of three romance books for 99 cents and was tremendously pleased with each story. Rather than go into a description of each individual book, I will just say that I found each story thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining. These are clean romances and though I prefer my stories with a bit more spice, I truly didn't miss it in these books. Would recommend this set to anyone who loves regency period romance.
I've always loved stories written by Marie Higgins and The Sweetest Kiss is no exception. Can't wait to read the other two stories from this triple treat edition.
