Un altro numero stupefacente: i nuovi personaggi che vengono presentati o solo accennati sono al solito affascinanti, parzialmente stereotipati, tipici del shonen eppure freschi, dinamici, accattivanti e la mano di Takeru Hokazono è assurda.
Kagubachi is so great too bad it dosnt have any scantly clad female characters that I don’t chichro keeps having nosebleed gags with, that would really kick it up a notch
Chapter 53... WILD. One of my absolute favorite Chihiro moments! Can't wait to see the cover for this one. I've been enjoying the art so dang much!! The 2 page spreads in this were such a treat!
maybe im ableist but geeeeenuinely how is it a good idea to give a blind man a weapon and then have his strategy be attacking anything that moves. i know this is a fantasy world with magic swords but i dont understand it. and THEN putting with a team of people who make zero sound?? like how is that helpful for anyone that only seems more dangerous. i feel like if his team wore like. bells or something even that would be better. he literally almost attacks one of his allies TWICE in this volume for this exact reason. i dont want to say that blind people can't fight ever and obviously there is a spectrum to being legally blind but this guy cannot see at all, maybe(???) has familiarity with the space, and is battling in a position where his allies and enemies are virtually indistinguishable to him. am i insane for thinking that seems ridiculously difficult. and that the author doesn't really do anything to turn the tides in his favor or acknowledge that he might be struggling? i guess its just to show us that he's So Cool. which like. obviously you can have a disability and still be cool but (and maybe im just too sensitive around these things like by all means ignore this) is it really that bad to recognize that part of living with a disability is struggling? that doesnt inherently negate the adaptations disabled people make to deal with their challenges. i feel like to an extent treating a disabled character like every other character is doing them a disservice because they might have to work extra hard to reach the "status quo." shouldn't that be recognized? those limitations can breed creativity, which?? isn't that what you should strive for even just as an author? not sure if i'm making sense. i had another point about the only disabilities we really ever see in media being ones that have some weird spectacle to them but i do think that point devolves into nonsense. whatever maybe im being too woke. doesnt change the fact this story is boooooooring

This was better than I expected. As much as this arc seemed like it’s going to be formulaic and dragged out I think it’s actually holding up pretty well. It is introducing some really interesting characters and it’s quite funny so far.
Speaking of new characters… both Samura and Uruha are actually great characters. Starting with Uruha… I love this dude’s obsession with Rokuhira. I mean, the way he says that Chihiro is his father because of the same vibe is just hilarious. Also he is hot so yeah, I like him. And Samura is also great. I like this blind man who relies on smell and sound but who also kicks the asses of bad guys without problems. I also love how he doesn’t want the ninja to sacrifice for him and doesn’t want to leave without them.
Also the ninja are cool. Especially that little brat who eats cigarette-shaped snacks.
I also quite enjoyed that idiot with paper who fought Chihiro whose name I didn’t bother to remember. He is so crazy and delusional… I love it. Like, bro, fighting someone because you’re two very different people with different ideals doesn’t make you friends… grow up.
My biggest problem with this volume is probably the pacing. Actually, it’s the issue in the entire series. Everything is just happening so fast that I barely get invested into the character and we already move on to the next one. I feel like this series just needs to slow down a little because the pace with which it’s moving is just a little distracting and it makes the series feel not well thought out.
Overall, this is not a bad volume but the pacing really is an issue as I would have loved to learn more bout Uruha and Samura but we’re already moving on to the next temple. I’m giving this 4 stars and I really hope that this manga slows down because it has potential but it doesn’t give its characters enough room to breathe.

“Whaddaya mean?! We’ve got to do something! How can he fight if he can’t see?!’ ‘Do something?… They’ll figure it out soon enough. Samura attacks sounds.’”
OH MY GODS samura is so fucking cool😮💨 and the Makizumi are cool too!! i love that we are seeming older men from the past war effort fight (😏) i can’t get over how fucking fast the guy is like bro it comes through so clearly in the pages.
i also like how some of chihiro’s opponents show how similar but different one can be when rasid with love and care🙂↕️ shoutout to chihiro’s dad, may he rest in peace but god damn we got another great shonen protagonist
also this took me way to long to finish… i’ve been reading on shonen jump online but i genuinely might start collecting the volumes
With the amount of killing that happens in this series, we finally get a point where Chihiro has to reconcile his part in it. What makes him different from the opposition that kills just as much?
I also enjoy the introduction of the characters from his father's past.
Some of the scenes here are so picturesque. This series will always get a plus in my book from other revenge tales, from having a female main character who is essential to the plot and fights boss battles.
4.5 - Really enjoying being introduced to new and cool characters like Samura I believe is his name. And the other sword bearer. Hakuri is still proving to be a valuable asset and it’s just kinda banger after banger is what it feels like. Since probably volume 2 the momentum picked up and hasn’t slowed down since and I’m not sure exactly what combination of things makes this so good but it truly is.
This arc was starting off a little slower than the last, but it’s giving me time to appreciate these new characters. I’m constantly amazed by how individualistic each one is and how unique the new enchanted blades are in both appearance and ability! Excited to see the rest of them—in action too!
HOW DOES IT JUST GET BETTER. PLEASE READ THIS ITS SO FUCKING GOOD. i love the new sword bearers and OMG URUHA. SAMURA. MY POOKIES. and the villains we get in this arc. and everything we are learning about the world and HAKURI MY BABY. hiruhiko is fucking interesting and cant wait to see him more I'm just shocked at how amazing it is. the art. the story. the plot developments. OFC THE BLIND MAN IS COOL ASF
