I have never been so depressed reading a romance novel. I spent most of the time rooting for both characters to get therapy instead of fall in love - they were both just so wounded and staggering around bleeding on everything. I did appreciate reading an M/F book where both characters were bi, because that's not something you see often - and though both characters were very sexual, and Madeline especially was what one might call promiscuous, I didn't get any gross feeling that the authors though ...more

☆ I was given an ARC by one of the authors, Amber Lin, in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!! ☆

A kind warning to my fellow readers: For those of you who’s hard limits include threesomes or bisexuality this book may not be for you as it does suggest/conclude scenes that involve those themes.

Once Kiss with a Rockstar was a short, steamy read that while enjoyable, was doused with a bit too much sex themes and excess.

While I do love my smutty, sexy books- OKWAR made me want more

Before you start reading this book, please read the first one in the series!! ► Three Nights with a Rock Star There's lots of talk about whatever happened in book #1.
This one is called a standalone, so it's not strictly necessary, but I would recommend it!

One Kiss With A Rockstar is about 'Half-Life' bassist Krist Mellas and pop princess Maddie.

In this scorching latest entry in the Half-Life Rock band series, we are treated to the story of Krist and Madeline. Forced into a fake engagement to repair their respective images – Krist for being videotaped in a compromising position with band mate Lock and Madeline for her constant bad girl pop princess shenanigans, they take advantage of their situation to engage in a sexual affair that is destined to end when their engagement ends. But Krist isn’t quite willing to let Madeline go when thei ...more

A collision of worlds- fake and real, pretty and glittery and dark and raw- the demolition of inhibitions and the understanding of what it is to be truly broken.

We are given two strong lead characters that are both emotional messes. Krist Mellas is the bass player and vocalist for Half-life. Madeline Fox is a teenage pop princess.

When Madeline and Krist get together the atmosphere sizzles. Maddy and Krist have this explosive chemistry and it only gets steamier when they a

I read this book as a standalone, even though it is actually book 2 in the Half-Life series. What can I say, I love rockstar books so much I wanted to read it and didn't have time to start at book one. Since Half-Life is the name of the band I'm assuming that each book is about a different band member and that I probably still met them all. I really enjoyed this story that gave me a glimpse into the music industry and how agents and record labels work. I especial

Although this is the second book in the Half-Life series, I read it as a standalone and loved it. The characters mentioned in this book peaked my interest and now I will make sure to read Book 1! I loved this rough and intense look inside the music business. This is a sexy and gritty book, filled with raw sexuality and damaged characters. Krist and Madeline have both made painful choices in their pasts, and have had to suffer the consequences of their actions while living in the unforgiving glar ...more

I enjoyed the story of Madeline and Krist, two used-up entertainers on the opposite sides of the spectrum, each having their own reasons for going along with a fake engagement but I didn’t love it.
There’s a lot going on that relies on, one, reading the first book, though both are listed as stand-alones, and two, being able to keep up with a storyline that jumps around a bit. Book 2 in the Half-life series. This is a series about the members of the huge rock band Half-Life. Every book is about a different member and I know that some people will read this as a standalone, however I strongly recommend reading in the order in which they are wrote. This is Krist's story and although not a continuation as such, events that happened in book 1 play a factor in this one.

Krist is lost, alienated from his fans and isolated from his bandmates following the leaking of

I am always a sucker for a rock star romance and this book was much better than the first in my opinion. I had trouble stomaching Lock and Hailey at times in Three Nights, and after the way Locke left things with Krist to end that story/ begin this one, I really have zero love for him.

Krist is the closest thing Lock has to a brother, but he left Krist out to dry with the sex video currently running Krist's life and then had the balls to have Krist call in a favor from Maddy to save

I had previously read the first book in this series, Three Nights With A Rock Star, so I was happy to receive the second book in this series, One Kiss With A Rock Star

Although this is the second in the series, there is enough back story that you could read this as a standalone and not feel that you are missing too much.

Coming soon!I thought I knew what I was going to get with this story, but I guess I'd forgotten because boy was I blown away. Not only did Amber and Shari bring the heat, but they brought this story that was so deep. I think it's easy for us as non-celebrities to see the persona portrayed and buy into it, when in reality, it's something else. That's what Krist did with Madeline, even though he was in "the biz" himself.

We rarely think of celebrities as people with bad luck and sometimes scoff wh

I absolutely love this series. If you need a hot steamy read then these books are for you. We learned from book one that Krist (the oh so hot bassist for Half Life) is hiding a secret. However because of a leaked video now the whole world knows what he has kept to himself his whole life. Madeline Fox is America's pop princess. But she is also hiding secrets and also wants a life change so she will no longer be a puppet for her recording company.

Krist is needing some major PR repair and Maddie i

Hard to rate this one. I really liked some things about it and didn't love others.

Rock star heroes are not my thing, but I found myself drawn in to the hero's world immediately. I didn't realize he was bi when I bought the book. His internal dialogue and response to the sex tape (of him going down on another band mate) are so well done. He's kind of a jerk sometimes but he also has a sweet side, and knows when he's wrong.

I bought this for the heroine and f/f action which didn't really happen un

I read this one straight after finishing the first part in this series of rock star stories. I quite liked the first book (Three Nights with a Rock Star) and even though the story was ridiculous really, the writing was enjoyable and the sex was rockin' (hehe).

This one was a bit of a let down by comparison. The threesome in the first book was good! The one in this one left me cold. I did not feel the connection with the Maddi and Krist and definitely not with Paige (the assistant). While I though

First off, I love rock star romances. I did not get a chance to read Book 1 before I read this one. Since this is a stand-alone, it did not affect the quality of the book.

Now can I just say WOW! I have not read a rock star book that delved into the industry as well as this one did. All the manipulation by the record labels and agents is astonishing. What looks good for her image, what makes him look better? What started off as "good pr" for both artists, ends with a great
The writing was excellent, the story line was very edgy and raw, pure sex. The characterization was well done for both Maddy and Krist it was more a personal journey rather than a romantic one. They served as a catalyst for each other, in doing so there was a progress in their personal development. The romance was a bit iffy, liked rush or not given that much detail but it still worked for the main story. The first book should be read first in my opinion for a better understanding of what these ...more

Not my personal cup of tea--I'm more of a Regency girl. Interesting for its exploration of the level of masculinity demanded of a rock star. Krist Mellas was caught on an elevator security camera performing oral sex on a male bandmate while the bandmate's girlfriend looked on, topless. Somehow his agent think that the solution is a fake engagement to a 19-year-old pop princess? Again, not my "thing," but well-executed. Extremely steamy, with more than one threesome. ...more

Very raw a sad. Which made it hard to read. Both characters were so damaged that it seemed like they were punishing each other. Not falling in love. The ending is cute and happy. But the road to get there was rough.

In a crazy world full of dubious friendships, paparazzo and record label executives, all gunning for themselves, Krist Mellas and Madeline Fox are pushed together in what would seem like an ill-fated alliance. They share one goal in the PR campaign fueled love affair but each have singular motivations and the main question in this story is “who is helping who”?

I was given the chance to read this book and I jumped on it as I'm a sucker for the Rock Star romances. It technically is book two in an ongoing series and I was told I could read it as a stand alone, but I couldn't get into it or truly feel Krist's angst so I abandoned it and bought and read Three Nights with a Rock Star. After reading the first book I felt more of Krist's anguish but I still couldn't get into it fully.
