A Mother's Story

This startling autobiography by country music superstar Tim McGraw's mother, Betty "McMom" Trimble, reveals her ultimate triumph over a life of astonishing pain and hardship. Illegitimate teenage pregnancy. A husband who beat her to unconsciousness. Extreme poverty. Life-threatening cancer. And the sexual molestation of her daughter. A chain of challenges that could have defeated anyone.
But Betty's unshakable faith in herself, God and the decency of others gave her strength. That victorious spirit was passed along to Tim McGraw, who has guided his own career straight to the top of the country charts.

Tim McGraw is my all time favorite singer. You will say what are the odds of someone living in Belgium, where country music is non existing, becoming a Tim McGraw fan? Well, I love the USA. I spent time there as a 19 year old student and I have loved that country since then. Over the years I travelled there, visiting friends and they introduced me to Country Music. I was hooked! It was like I found home: this music suits me. Tim McGraw quickly became my favorite singer and I became a member of the online fanclub in 2004.
I have made the most AMAZING friends through his website. Friends that are true. Friends that answer my definition of "FRIEND".
I've read the biography of Tim's mother (Betty Trimble). I found the facts interesting.

Finally got my hands on a copy of this book after years and years of trying! Huge Tim McGraw fan here so I enjoyed every page of this book. Loved reading this story of just normal everyday people who make mistakes just like the rest of us! What a strong woman Betty Trimble is! And it was very interesting reading about Tim’s relationship with Tug growing up! This is an older book so it only goes to the beginning of Tim’s career (before Faith) but it’s a great read!

Finally able to get my hands on a copy of this book.

Most Tim McGraw fans know the story of how he found his birth certificate at age 11 and discovered that the man who raised him was not his father. But in this book his mom talks very candidly about their humble beginnings; her abusive relationship and the early beginnings of Tim's career and introduction to his dad, Tug McGraw.

The story is extremely gripping and sad. It is also a story of overcoming the odds and triumphing. The writing itself isn't the best - but that is ignored due to the quality of the story.
