From their very first meeting, the singer makes it clear that he doesn’t want a book written about him. Grace, meanwhile, would love nothing more than to toss her laptop at his ridiculously handsome face and call it a day. But this job could launch her career, and quitting isn’t an option…

When hate turns to unexpected attraction, Grace and Ethan are forced to confront their feelings and the growing connection they can’t deny. But with the world watching his every move, will their love story survive the pressures of fame—or collapse under its weight?

i had so much fun with this one, really lighthearted and entertaining. nothing was boring and i was speeding through the pages!! the plot was really fun and enjoyable, stories with writers/ghostwriters x singer never gets old. both characters were written really well and had depth.

a similar book to this is "the lodge" by kayla olson, boy-band-ish but set at a ski restore.

she's so sweet and i loved her personality. she cared about ethan which was so nice and wanted to know the real him. i loved seeing her grow in the book and get more confident.

꩜.ᐟ 𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧
he was actually so caring in his pov, like he wanted to know grace and what she cared about. he was kinda a jerk at the beginning but it's just his defence mechanism.

꩜.ᐟ 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬
cole. what the hell? like he gave iffy vibes the whole time and i think there's a deeper story there... like no way he just sold out his bsf's darkest secret. like what?

Before I begin I want to thank the author, Madleen Sarah, for giving me this ARC.

I like this story and its concept. The characters were really cute and they had a certain depth that which made me keep reading. I'm going to be honest here okay and I don't mean to sound harsh or hateful. I don't get the fmc. In the beginning, it's portrayed like she's a really strong and intelligent young woman, but as the story goes on, it just feels like she stops being herself. She left her home country to follow her dream, but she changed so much in the end, and I don't think in a good way. I also think that the MMC should go to therapy.

Please don't take this the wrong way I still enjoyed this story and I really liked the beginning of it.

Also, a small detail, but I really loved the quotes at the beginning of the chapters.

oh my god. i had the honour of being an ARC reader for this book and it is insane😩 i binged it and finished it in a day it was SO GOOD. i couldn’t stop reading it was so addictive. This book was very well paced as well i felt engaged with it and there wasn’t one moment where i was bored or uninterested!! these characters are so loveable as well, and the way their relationship unfolds is so perfect, it moves from enemies to friends to lovers in the most perfect way and it doesn’t feel too slow or too fast at all. And the way the mental health of grace is presented is so special, her panic attacks and anxiety is described so well and is so true to real life it was very sentimental and personal to me and to read it made me feel so connected to her and the scene.

ETHAAANNN!!!!!!! i am so in love with this man oh my god. he is literally perfect he is so fine and UGHHHH. every-time he was in a scene i was kicking my feet and giggling. especially in the scenes with the view and the red carpet and the paps UGHHH he’s so loveable. also the spicy scenes ?! this man. when is it my turn. he was so focused on if she was okay and just I NEED HIM. the age gap aswell🤭 i’m obsessed. his backstory was so upsetting to read he deserved so much more love

and Grace is SO darling!! i love how she is so kind and loving yet so stubborn and stood her ground. she was scared to face her fear but she did it anyway so inspirational! i adored her character and the way her personality was was just yes. i would literally do anything to have a therapy session with her icl she seems so good to talk to i need her as a bestfriend🙏 jealous of ruby i cannot lie. she reminds me of just happiness she just radiates the good energy. AND DESERVED SO MUCH MORE THEN TO START AS A GHOST WRITER.

the plot twist and the flinching. my heart was RIPPED OUT OF MY CHEST and my soul was knocked out of me xx i went through all the stages of grief during those scenes 😭 i loved the acknowledgment from grace about it being like a rom-com film and him being the star it was such a funny break the ice moment that man was yearning for her after he knew he messed up (that should be me😪😪) but it was so flawless and carried out beautifully

overall i’m tempted to go back and re-read it again tonight 😭 it was just such a perfect read and i cannot wait for it to be shared to the world! will absolutely be getting the physical copy grace x ethan is something i need in-front of me immediately xx madleen is such a talented writer and i cannot wait to see what else she can do in the future 🩷

For me this book was actually a very special read my reasoning for this is because I first saw Madleens’ debut novel on KU and downloaded it immediately! I enjoyed that one but already Madleen has improved SO much! To see her grow on her writing journey is so inspiring. First of all let’s talk about the cover of this book… If the cover isn’t already enough to convince you to read this book then what’s wrong with you? It’s SO cute! Also if you’re a music girlie like me and love a playlist in a book this has such an amazing playlist! Books and music have always been my thing. I listen and read but never find the creativity to write or create music! Reading this book has inspired me in many ways that you never know where life takes you. I needed a reminder of that! I immediately fell in love with Grace, seeing her ambition and determination in myself but the NEED to succeed and obsession over that. I was messaging Madleen throughout reading this book and within 20 pages or so I pictured Madleen as Grace!! Literally don’t have to think of anyone for Grace because Madleen is THE grace. I thought the premise of this book was so interesting. I’ve read rockstar romances but none where the fmc is writing a biography about his career and life. Ethan rivers!! His story was truly heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once. Grace really was his ‘saving grace’. His past was so tragic and traumatic. I absolutely LOVED how the romance progressed in this book. It felt so natural whilst having a perfect balance of emotional and physical attraction. With Grace being a virgin and also struggling with her body image I thought the pacing of the romance was a really important aspect to this novel. The movie/book/song references at the beginning of every chapter was SO fun to see every chapter. THE QUOTES!! Soooo many quotes were incredible and also without saying much ‘dress’ is all I’m going to say. Considering this is a second novel i’m no professional by any means but Madleen I hope is extremely proud of herself for making such a beautiful story and improving already! I thought every character had a balanced amount of importance to them! When you read this book you’ll understand what I mean as this is a spoiler free review. My main thing that I would have LOVED to explore more is Ethan’s addiction. I think it’s a very important part to his character and development but I feel it was slightly brushed over (this may be because I love heartbreak in books.) Thank you so much Madleen for sharing your stories and I cannot wait for future projects.

ARC REVIEW

I dived into this without even reading the blurb, and honestly? Best decision ever!! The writing was so easy to read, and I didn’t even realize how fast time passed because I was so invested in the story. I couldn’t put it down! 💗🫶😌😌

I love how Grace isn’t a quitter. She stands up for herself, doesn’t let anyone belittle her, and her humor?? So funny!! She’s such an amazing character. 🫂😭

And Ethan… the way the author wrote him was just beautiful. His character development?? So good. I just fell for him more and more as I read. Like i can't explain it, i just LOVE HIM!!?? 💖✨❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

And THAT ONE SCENE—oh my god. The red carpet one?? I had to pause and process it because I was not expecting that. 😭😭 (No spoilers, but iykyk 👀)

Ruby is the kind of best friend everyone needs. She’s supportive, always there, and hypes you up no matter what.

And Cole?? I was rooting for him at first, but then… 😤😤 He kept going on and on about how “dangerous” Grace is and how Ethan should be careful, and I just wanted to punch him!!! Like, bro, shut up and let him live his life!!! At first, he was great, but then he just got so annoying. You can know someone for years, but that doesn’t mean you know everything about them.

The ending, though?? It was SO GOOD!!! And the epilogue?? I LOVED IT. 😭😭💗💗 Thank you so much for writing such a heartwarming and wonderful story, Sarah!!! 🫂🫂💖

OMG! Seriously, "The World Between Us" is EVERYTHING!
Okay, y'all, I just finished reading "The World Between Us" and I'm, like, freaking out over how good it is! Madleen Sarah is a total rockstar! I was hooked from page one; this book is seriously unputdownable.
The characters? To die for! Grace is such a queen, and I was cheering her on through every single page. She's so relatable, it's insane. And Ethan? Ugh, that man! He's this whole package of heartthrob with a dash of bad boy, and his character development is just chef's kiss. I was living for their entire vibe.
The FEELS in this book? Get ready for a rollercoaster! I laughed, I sobbed (like, ugly cried), and my heart was legit pounding. Madleen Sarah doesn't hold back, and it's so real. Plus, her writing is pure fire. She creates such vivid scenes; I felt like I was right there in London with Grace.
So, basically, if you want a book that will give you ALL the feels and leave you wanting more, you HAVE to read "The World Between Us"! It's a whole journey of love, loss, and finding yourself, and I'm still not over it! Seriously, go grab a copy ASAP!

Thankyou So Much Madleen Sarah for the ARC of this Gorgeous Book. 💖💖

Grace March thought moving from Germany to London would be the best decision of her life. Working as a writer has always been her dream, and she thought she could do it. But she’s been working as a ghostwriter for years. That is, until she gets an offer to write a biography of Ethan Rivers’ life, the biggest pop star and playboy in London. And he’s the biggest snob. After getting to know each other, though they start to get closer and closer.
This was such a sweet story. I binged it pretty much in one sitting and had the best time. It was super sweet and fun, it moved at a good pace and I feel like every scene was necessary.
Thank you so much to the author for sending me an early copy of this book!!

Sometimes the stories don't end with "happily ever after". Sometimes, they begin with it. I loved this book. The two different worlds coming together and creating so much love, warmth and comfort in each other's lives is beautiful. I loved every part of the book and the ending is beautiful😍✨. I never thought of this ending and it blew my mind. I was smiling till the end happily. It's a must read book ❤

I'm thrilled to say that this book single-handedly pulled me out of the worst reading slump of my life! I devoured it in one sitting, which is a testament to its addictive storytelling.

The playlist accompanying this novel is absolute perfection, featuring all my favorite songs. As a bonus, the book is filled with Taylor Swift references that had me squealing with delight.

The characters of Grace and Ethan stole my heart. Their development, particularly Ethan's, was phenomenal.

Grace, in particular, was a standout for me. I loved her sassy remarks and relatable personality. She was bookish, yet faced challenges head-on, making her incredibly inspirational. I found myself rooting for her from the start, and her character growth was amazing to witness. I also appreciated how she was unapologetically herself, and her confidence was infectious. I'd love to have a therapy session with her – she's that kind of character!

Ethan, on the other hand, deserves all the love in the world. He's definitely one of the best book boyfriends I've encountered. His growth and vulnerability had me swooning. He's just lovable, and I want to hug him so badly! He is gonna be in my top 15 favourite bookish boyfriend list 😍💕

Although the plot was somewhat predictable, I found myself crying uncontrollably – yes, you read that right, literal sobbing!

Overall, I'd give this book a solid 4.75 stars. It's not just because I received an ARC, but because it genuinely resonated with me. You can bet I'll be recommending it to everyone, including my Instagram followers!

Big thanks to the author for giving me the chance to read this-it was such an easy and beautiful read. From the very first chapter, I loved Grace. She felt so real, and we even shared the same hobbies, which made me connect with her instantly. That letter to her younger self? It hit me. It was short but powerful. As the story progressed, I felt every emotion right alongside her.
When she met Ethan and he told her she looked young-her internal reaction had been funny and adorable. But it hurt when he turned her down. He had felt like he was just part of someone else's plan. Grace had every right to be upset, but Ethan had his reasons too.
I really liked Mercy-so calm and steady. And Ruby? She was amazing. She supported Grace without judgment or expectation. Just pure kindness.
Also, Ruby loving chocolate? Same here. There's no such thing as too much chocolate.
When Ethan told Grace he loved her for the first time, it gave me butterflies. And when he showed his soft side-it was beautiful and heartbreaking all at once.
When they met again during the recording-the way he brought up their date-it made me emotional. And when she asked him out and he teased her? Absolutely adorable.
Their date had been perfect. He pulled out her chair and said, "I'm not perfect, just trying not to disappoint." That line stayed with me.
Hearing his point of view during the date melted me. It hurt when he thought she only came for the interview. But when she called him "Rockstar"-it was the sweetest thing.
When Grace opened up about her mom—it was deeply emotional. It reminded me how important it is to follow your dreams. In that moment, Ethan became her hero. They both let their guards down.

And then came the moment I never saw coming-it broke me. I hated Ethan's dad for what he did.
And even after everything, Ethan still smiled and cracked jokes. That's just who he was.
He made her feel safe-protecting her from the paparazzi, calming her panic attacks. And that beach scene? When she said, "The view is beautiful," and he looked at her and said, "It is" — I melted.
When he finally opened up, it was painful. I didn't think it could hurt more-but it did. And Grace stayed. No pressure. No questions. Just love.
As for Cole-I didn't care much for him. Not good, not bad. And honestly, from Ethan's side, he didn't seem like a great friend anyway.
I loved how they got closer slowly. When Ethan talked about Ecstasy and told her the truth-it hit hard. Sometimes, leaving really is the only way to grow.
And the piano scene? When he said, "Should I be jealous?" —I was blushing. So cute.
Their kiss came out of nowhere, but I loved it.
And when she said she was heavy, and he replied, "I don't go to the gym to carry light things"—he was perfect.
She was so cute when he carried her to her flat— just to sleep. Then he said:

"I was willing to try. I didn't know how to do this, Grace. I had spent so long building walls so high that I didn't think anyone could get over them.
But you..." —I couldn't breathe.
And when Jessica tried to get Grace to walk the red carpet, and Ethan said, "I'll be right there.
Just focus on me"—my heart melted. He was there for her, fully.
And the Gucci moment? He turned her diary into a Gucci outfit. Because it meant something to her. Because it was about them. And when she wore it and he whispered, "I think I forgot how to breathe"-I was gone.
When she got anxious and picked her nails, and he said, "You'll hurt yourself, little writer" —that nickname, that care-it was everything.
And when she called him "old man" —I laughed out loud.
Then he told her, "You handled me—a red carpet's nothing," and I melted again.
He saw her overthinking and simply said, "Don't do that." He just... understood her.
That kiss on the red carpet? In front of everyone?
Just to calm her down? That was the moment.
He was hers. She was his.

Then the song leaked. I cried. I knew it had been Cole. Ethan trusted him, but I just wished he had talked to Grace. Please.
And that moment—he raised his hand to run it through his hair, but it looked like he might hit something. She flinched. He saw it. In that instant, he saw his father in himself. But he wasn't him. He would never be. And the fear in his eyes-it shattered me.
And then Grace said,
"If you don't believe me,
then I'll leave" —and I fell apart. That was her. His peace. His chaos. His everything. And he let her go.
I just wanted to hug Grace. She had been through so much. And knowing Ruby was there— no pressure, just being there— helping her stay grounded made it better. And after that call? I liked her mother. She wasn't so bad. She was actually... good. The way she explained everything-it was thoughtful. Just like Ruby.
I knew it had to be Cole. He had felt off from the beginning. And when Ethan found out Grace was leaving and ran toward the airport-that moment was everything.
And when he finally confessed-arghh.

"I love you," "I love you more than I've ever loved anything in my life. And I know I don't have the right to ask you for anything, but l'm asking anyway. Stay. Stay here with me. Let me prove to you that I can be better. That we can be better.
Please."
Ethan Rivers loved me. Ethan Rivers loved me.
My Ethan. Mine.
And when she said she didn't feel like she belonged in that world, he replied:
"You don't have to be part of that world," "You just need to be a part of my world. Our world."
"You are my world."
And lastly: "Stay with me, little writer. Let me show you that we can do this. That we're worth fighting for. Just....stay."
Aww, that's the perfect bittersweet ending to your beautiful journey with them. And now, as they slowly became their old selves again-bickering, laughing, smiling-it felt so good. I couldn't believe this was the end... but also the beginning of something new.
And the epilogue? OMG. OMG. OMG.
It was the best thing ever. The way they talked, the way their love had only deepened-and then mentioning their baby, who was yet to come?
Aahh, the absolute cutest. I'm going to miss them so much. Other things I loved about the book were the playlist, the cover (which I absolutely loved), and the quotes at the start.

The World Between Us is a captivating enemies-to-lovers romance that digs into the messy intersection of ambition, love, and fame. Grace March, an aspiring author, moves to London with dreams of a cozy life and a successful writing career, only to find herself ghostwriting for others while her own dreams gather dust. Enter Ethan Rivers, the world’s most notorious pop star—bad boy, scandal magnet, and a walking headline. When Grace is given the opportunity to write Ethan’s biography, she’s torn. On one hand, it’s her big break; on the other, Ethan is the last person she wants to work with.

From their very first meeting, the tension is palpable. Ethan makes it clear he doesn’t want a book written about him, while Grace feels nothing but frustration toward his arrogance. Yet, what begins as mutual disdain soon gives way to an unexpected attraction neither can deny. As their professional relationship deepens, so does their personal connection, but the pressures of Ethan’s fame and the constant scrutiny from the paparazzi threaten to tear them apart.

Grace is the perfect blend of relatable vulnerability and strength, while Ethan’s bad-boy persona hides layers of complexity that make him irresistible. The age gap between the characters adds an intriguing dynamic, and their evolving relationship feels authentic, even as they navigate the storm of fame and scandal. The writing is poetic and immersive, conveying the characters' emotions with such depth that readers can truly feel what they’re going through. The author masterfully develops a slow-burn narrative, allowing the emotional tension to build gradually, fostering a quiet yet powerful sense of intimacy.

This book is a perfect read for fans of enemies to lovers, rockstar romance, and found family themes. It’s a heartfelt journey of self-discovery, learning to embrace imperfections, and ultimately, finding love in the most unexpected places. The World Between Us is a beautifully messy, emotionally rich story you won’t want to put down.

𝜗𝜚 ☆🤍 Let me start by saying, I fell in love and wanted to read this book by its whole blurb and the aesthetic and it did not disappoint 🎀! The novel ‘The World Between Us’ by Madleen Sarah was such a smooth and beautifully paced novel, and the writing was well put together which made this book the masterpiece that had me full of laughter, love, confidence, and full of many mixtures of emotions! 🥹 It kept me so invested. Let's dive in first. Our fmc Grace is so cool, like she is so determined, not afraid to quit, and is a person who isn't afraid to stand up for what is right. I loved her character characteristics so much and her character was so relatable as I kept reading which made the story so much more relatable, as so the characters are too. 🩷 Now switching to our mmc Ethan my goodness he was written very beautifully for our hearts, like every scene, every time he spoke 💬 🤭 he may be my new book boyfriend, or on my top main options list! Now, before we jump into the juicy parts let me discuss Ruby who is such a good friend, literally supportive, kind and helps no matter what the circumstance ✨. Okay, now moving on to Ethan and Grace, their love story 💌 I loved how their attentive and caring of each other, as well as how Ethan is so caring on making sure Grace is okay as well especially with the mental health aspect within the characters and which is represented, written and portrayed well in this novel! ☺️ However, throughout this story we dived deeper through not only love, but also the challenges and backstories of Ethan and was so emotional 🥺, as well as plot twists and turns of grief that had me balling and intrigued and in love!! Let me also discuss the aspects within this story of Grace and Ethan’s rom-com relationship like love and friendship and him being a star in a spotlight and dealing through challenges was such an epic storyline. 🎸 A man-down bad, grief, progression and mental health, love and passion, and also spice, my goodness that one scene the carpet scene in particular 😏 In Conclusion, thank you Madleen Sarah thank you for this amazing read that is definitely out of this world !!

Before I get into my review, I want to thank Madleen for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this beautiful book, I’m very grateful for that!

Now let’s get into my review!
I absolutely adored this book, a very addictive book where I couldn’t stop reading because I really felt like I was inside of the book, I’m usually not the biggest fan of enemies to lovers in romance books, but I feel like Madleen did it in such a great way that I really enjoyed it!

I love Grace oh so much, she is such a pure character who is so full of love, I also felt like I could relate to her a little in a away, I really enjoyed reading about her!

I’m gonna be honest, I did not like Ethan in the beginning, but that was kind of the point because he’s a dick in the beginning, but he really grew on me and I really ended up liking him.

My favorite part was obviously Grace and Ethan together, they just worked so fell together, their connection is so so beautiful that I felt my heart warming while reading about them, I love how gentle and patient Ethan was with Grace and how they really communicated about what and how they needed and wanted, I absolutely love their relationship.

The plot twist was kind of a knife to the heart because that HURT!!

I also LOVED the little details in this book, the playlist was perfect, the little quotes/lyrics at the beginning of the book were so adorable :)

I absolutely loved this book and it was such a perfect read, I can’t wait to read more of Madleen her books :)
I would really recommend it if you love:
- Enemies to lovers
- Rockstar x reader
- Good girl x bad boy
- Set in London

4.25 for this lovely book and again, thank you Madleen.🤍

The world between us by @madleensarah

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
"For everyone who just sometimes needs to run away from the real world to escape between books, songs or paintings:
this one's for you — let's hide together in these pages. Even if it is just for a little while."

GRACE and ETHAN is my new favourite couple in fictional world. I loved how Grace is very confident and showed Ethan's place when he was being unbearable.

The tension between them is something that made me hooked into this book. The way Grace slowly gained the trust of Ethan how she understood his past and written His biography is so good.

The way Ethan loved Grace teached her how to play piano is my favourite scene on the whole book. Ethan never hesitated to show Grace to the world that she is his.

From paparazzi scene where Ethan protected Grace and to the end how they went from hating eachother to eachother is the best part of the book.

The best part is the way Ethan trusted her and opened up to her about his tragic past and sufferings. And he literally changed himself for Grace. Their banters are my favourite.

If you are looking for the book with eniemes to lovers, betrayal , friendship ,celebrity and a pop star falling for the writer than this book is for you .

Don't forget to add this book on your TBR 💙
