Blanche was never satisfied with life until she got knocked up and could live vicariously through her calf.

This was weird read. To be fair, the authors are not native English speakers, nor do they reside in my culture. But I am fairly familiar with European culture and this was still weird. It was almost like they wrote the story and then couldn't figure out how to end it, so they chose something that just worked with the idea. The allusion to the bull mating with the cow and making a baby would solve all of her self-image problems? Weird. Glad I managed to get it back to the library after a week. There was a clever nod to Matisse, but even that didn't really fit.
