Four-time RITA finalist, Scarlett Cole, is a contemporary romantic suspense / contemporary romance author (represented by Louise Fury at The Bent Agency) who calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.

She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.

When she isn’t writing, she’s happy to talk hot men and expensive shoes while drinking a cold gin and tonic. Don’t bring up olives. As far as Scarlett is concerned, they are the devil’s food. As long as you don’t bring up olives, she’s happy to hear from any time.

The Oath We Take is the second book in the Colorado chapter of S. Cole’s Iron Outlaws mc series. This is the story of a forbidden romance between the enforcer and the president’s daughter. Hudson, road name Atom, is a rancher and the enforcer for the Iron Outlaws. I loved the rancher/cowboy vibe he brought to the story. Atom has loved Ember but turned her down when she told him how she felt because of the off-limits clause. Ember is a strong, independent and sassy FMC, who has come second to the club for most her life. She stands up for herself and built her bar from the ground up. Atom realizes that he could lose his chance with Ember when he see her with another man and then her bar is threatened. The Bratva is in town threatening local businesses and the club. Ember’s bar is targeted and Atom is tasked with her protection and they are forced to spend time together. This is when a favorite micro trope of mine happens when Atom says “fü€k it” and kisses the heck out of her. They get together and it’s sweet and spicy. You can’t help but fall in love with Atom with how over protective he is of Ember and his support for her to be independent. He is willing to put Ember before the club and his family’s ranch if it means they can be together. This was my first read of Cole’s and I will definitely be returning to the Iron Outlaws clubhouse in Colorado for more.

I’d like to thank S. Cole and The Author Agency for the privilege of reading an advanced copy of The Oath We Take.

Absolutely fantastic read!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: mutual pining, forbidden
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥1\2

Scarlet Cole just does not miss with me. Super smart writing , a fantastic storyline, and tons of action. These are characters that just pull you in and make you completely invested. If you're a fan of angsty reads and no 3rd act break-up , then this is the book for you too! The Oath We Take Is a complete stand alone but best read in series order. I can't wait for what's next!

Ehhh, this was very lackluster. The plot and storyline were solid, but I couldn't help but feel that it was a little rushed and a little boring.

I would have preferred the epilouge be further in the future, too, honestly. I don't know if I would even call that an epilouge at all. Also, this was surprisingly low angst, low drama, and low spice, which is kinda of the opposite of what I expect from this author.

With all that being said, I'm probably going to read the next book when it's released because I'm a sucker for Hero used to date heriones' sister plot 😅 I know I know, don't judge me😂

So anyways, 3, it could have been great stars, but I have high hopes for the next book in the series

Nothing is easy when you are friends at a young age and you realize that you can’t advance things because the woman is the Prez’s daughter and she is off limits. Atom does the only thing a loyal brother would do and he pushes Ember away because his Prez ordered it. Atom is the Enforcer for the Iron Outlaws MC and has deep roots within the MC.

Now years later Ember needs help when her bar is being shaken down for protection money by some very dangerous people. Atom will have to come to terms with going against his Prez in order to protect the woman he loves.

This is another great story by Ms. Cole. She has never let me down yet and I always look forward to her stories. I highly recommend this book.

“i love her, brother, always have. but for the last five years, i’ve tried to live up to my promise to butcher. tried not to lay my hands on my president’s daughter like he asked, but she’s always been my queen.”

if i thought book one was refreshing, this second installment blew me away. not all romances are romantic, but this was. for a dark romance, and it was dark and angsty and forbidden, this story, but most of all this mmc, was so soft. he looked like a cinnamon roll but could unalive you, and was only a cinnamon roll to her (after getting over himself). their banter was so entertaining. i especially appreciated how this didn't try to redo the same trope as in the previous series, rather it was its own thing, a different take on the president's daughter (or in the other case, twin).

* i was sent an arc by the author in exchange for a honest review

It was fine but I didn't love it.
The romance was sweet, but the main conflict of the story was a bit messy, and it resolved too quickly.
Still, this was a fun read.

This one had such a good premise, cowboy and biker, I was all over it. I loved the heroine, a feisty and smart curvy lady, but the two together didn't even bring sparks to the game. I felt cheated.

Scarlett Cole has truly outdone herself with The Oath We Take. This expertly crafted story is bursting with explosive passion and powerful emotion that captivates you right from the start.

As Enforcer for the Iron Outlaws, Atom has been half in love with Ember since they were teenagers. However, being the daughter of the club president has always made her off-limits. Five years ago, Atom made the difficult choice to push her away for good, but now they find themselves at a crossroads.

As it's becoming increasingly hard for Atom to see Ember and accept that she will never be his. He knows the day will come when she meets someone, falls in love, gets married, and starts a family.

Ember, on the other hand, is fed up with the Iron Outlaws and how the club consistently overshadows her—both in Atom's life and her father's. She feels like she's always last on their priority list, and it's clear that her father is not winning any Father of the Year awards.

But when her bar comes under attack by a rival gang looking to take control of their Colorado town, the outlaws rally to support and protect her. In this critical moment, Atom and Ember can no longer deny the feelings that have lingered between them.

Yet, despite their deepening connection, Butcher's rules haven’t changed. So, they decide to keep their romance under wraps until they can demonstrate to Butcher and the rest of the motorcycle club that their relationship is serious.

However, little do they know that the danger confronting them and their town is much closer than they think. And soon, Atom will need to prove his loyalty once and for all.

And with explosive chemistry, intense tension, and nonstop danger, this story illustrates that soulmates truly do exist. Delivering a must-read MC romance that leaves you craving more. And I was particularly impressed by Ember's strength; her honesty with Atom and her father showcases what an incredible character she is.

My thanks to Scarlett Cole and The Author Agency for my copy of The Oath We Take. All thoughts expressed are my own. ☺️

The MC setting is already a place with a ton of rules and loyalties, but adding the president’s daughter into it made it ten times more complicated.

“It's a big deal to let any woman ride on the back of your bike. But it's a huge fucking deal to have the right one sitting there. It's a rite of passage.”

Hudson “Atom” pissed me off a little. For years, YEARS, you push her away, put her father’s option over hers and break her heart, but the moment you see she could move on with her life you freak and still confuse her. He needed to stop being a pussy and stand up. Tell Pres that he was in love with Em and deal with the consequences, because that would mean she’s worth it. By doing what he did he just made me feel like he saw her as a commodity.

“He simply wanted the Iron Outlaws more than he wanted me. He wanted my father's respect more than he wanted me. (…) And he wanted the leather cut hanging outside my door right now more than me.”

Ember, good for you girl. Getting your bar, keeping it clean and legal and not taking shit from daddy dearest or the boy (cause he was NOT a man) that broke your heart.

“It's like my whole physique was created just so she'd fit perfectly against my side.”

When the romance really started I also started to love this book. How they were together, their connection, their love for one another… I like the fact that during those 5 years both him and her were with other people but they couldn’t get over each other. They were meant to be and once they became a couple nothing was getting between them. Also, the sexual responsibility was hot.

I’ll definitely go back and read the first one and need the next one cause Smoke intrigues me…

Thank you to The author agency and S. Cole for the e-arc!!

***5 ‘Team Ember’ Stars***

…okay, Atom was freakin’ awesome too…but I was totally connecting with Ember in this one.
I loved her strength and her honesty, especially when it came to how she felt about her father, the club and how she put boundaries on how involved they are in her life. Atom is all kinds of protective AF Alpha male, loyal and just a really good man. I really enjoyed their journey to their HEA. It starts out rocky, but once they have no choice but to figure things out between them, I really liked them together. I loved their bantering, flirting and how they didn’t play mind games. They spoke up for themselves and each other and pushed each other to be honest with their feelings and what they wanted, and needed from each other. And in the end, even with that tinsy issue of the “no touchy” thang, I truly loved seeing them get their HEA.

I’m warming up to the Colorado chapter and those in their orbit, it may take another book, but I’m definitely looking forward to spending more time with them ~ especially Catfish and the women of the book club. This one has its triggers, but this is an MC romance so it’s to be expected. The little twists in the storyline were well done, one I definitely didn’t see coming, but I’m looking forward to seeing how the issues they are all facing work out themselve out.

Would Recommend!

My Review:
I really enjoyed this one! Atom and Ember were such a cute couple, and their story was filled with angst, emotions, romance, and spice. Their connection felt so real, and I loved seeing them coming together.💕

The book picks up right where the first one ended. The writing was smooth, the plot kept me hooked, the pacing was fast and the spice? Perfectly done. It never felt over the top, just the right amount to keep things interesting.

Even though you could read this as a standalone, I’d highly recommend reading the first book first. It gives you a much better understanding of all the characters and makes the experience even richer.

Also, I have to say… Butcher has seriously piqued my interest. 👀 I can’t wait to read his story!

I'm glad I reread the prologue even though I read his epilogue the day before because there were differences. When Ember told Raven about being in love with an Iron Outlaw I wondered who it was. Atom and Ember's story was perfect. He is perfect for her and I loved their history. The chemistry was good and it was well written.

Yet again, S. Cole delivers another masterfully crafted, explosively passionate romance with The Oath We Take: Iron Outlaws Colorado Book 2. Up next is club enforcer and rancher Atom—a bad boy biker and a cowboy with a magnetic, swoon-worthy side, especially when it comes to his club president’s daughter, Em.

Since their teenage years, Atom and Em have fought their feelings, knowing Em’s dad made it clear she was off-limits. Five years ago, Atom made the shattering decision to push Em away. Now, Em owns the local bar and sees Atom as enemy number one, all while struggling with the belief that her father has always put her last. But when danger comes charging in, buried emotions ignite like an uncontainable force, no matter the cost.

The chemistry is charged, the passion atomic-level, and the swoon even hotter. The danger? Handlebar-gripping, edge-of-your-seat intensity. I adored the ranch setting and the rugged, country feel—from horseback riding to roaring down the open road on a motorcycle, S. Cole weaves it all together beautifully, making every scene pulse with emotion and adrenaline. Full of twists, tension, and heart, this book is a fusion of heat and fate. If you never believed in soulmates before, you absolutely will after this!

This is the second of this series and I do believe this whole series will be off the charts amazing! Ember and Atom's story, the MC Princess and the Enforcer who was forced to turn her down and now years later still pining for the woman that makes his heart beat. The whole thing coming down to which he will chose, the club or the woman. This story has so much going on, we are getting some really great drama, danger, violence, and the heat factor is HOT! I give this 5 stars.

A gorgeously romantic MC President's daughter/childhood friends/forbidden romance with, action, drama, a strong heroine, a cowboy biker hero, and a beautifully emotional love story, this is a fantastic read, and I loved it!

This is the second book in the Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado series. It’s an MC book, so obviously there’s a lot of character crossover, but you can read this one as a standalone.

Atom and Ember grew up in the Iron Outlaws MC. Their fathers were members, and they were close as kids and developed feelings for each other as teens. He became a member of the club, but by then Ember’s father was the club president and he had put a firm ‘hands off my daughter’ rule in place. Torn between his feelings for Ember and his love and loyalty towards the club, Atom chose the club and walked away from the girl he loved.

Ember Deeks just offered me her heart, and breaking it broke mine too.

Years later, and Atom and Ember are barely talking. She is a local bar owner with little to do with the club, and he is an Enforcer for the Outlaws. They’ve kept their distance, though are still in each other’s orbit, so we get this delicious tension full of desperate longing, but neither of them are doing anything about it. Atom is doing what he thinks is the right thing for his club, and Ember wants a man who is prepared to fight for her.

Both of us are torn. Stuck in this place where we can’t push each other away hard enough for it to be final, nor can either one of us step forward into the other.

The build-up is fantastic. I could feel their love for each other and their frustration at the situation they are in, but at the same time I completely understood why they wouldn’t act on their feelings. They don’t hide what they’re feeling, they’re both fully aware, and they’re sad, angry and frustrated, and oh, my heart hurt for them!

“I don’t know if I can watch you in a relationship with another man, Ember.” The words come out more gruffly than I intend. I have to swallow deeply once they are out.
A tear spills over her lashes, and that single trail breaks my heart. “Then pick me, Hudson. It’s not hard.”

When Ember becomes the target of the MC’s enemies, Atom is put on security duty, moving into her apartment and bringing the close proximity feels. It forces them together, and though Ember is still snarky towards Atom, there’s also flirting and teasing, and things start to change. The chemistry is fantastic, and as the danger increases, Atom realises what he has to lose, and they can’t stay away from each other any longer.

This is such a gorgeous romance! Atom is sweet and sexy, he’s seriously protective, and he’s so freaking swoony. The cowboy biker is a huge romantic, and I loved seeing him finally open his heart so completely. And Ember is a rockstar. She’s smart, strong and confident, she knows what she wants and what she deserves, and once these two finally decide to go for it, they’re honest and functional, and they are a dream together

“I love her, brother,” Atom says. “Always have. But for the last five years, I’ve tried to live up to my promise to Butcher. Tried not to lay my hands on my president’s daughter like he asked, but she’s always been my queen.”

But while they’re figuring it all out between them, they’re keeping it to themselves. The secret, forbidden element adds excitement and intensity, and brings fantastically dramatic scenes when everything comes out. There’s a whole lot going on with the club – they’re facing increasing danger, and there is violence, action and MC club politics and drama that create a darker feeling, and with strong themes of brotherhood, family and loyalty, I loved being back in this world.

I loved getting to know more of the club boys, and as a spin-off from the original Iron Outlaws MC series, we also get to see a lot of the boys from the original series, which was so good! There’s a great bunch of girls in this series with a hilariously entertaining book club, and I cannot wait for the next book for Smoke and Quinn.

Such a great read, I loved it – 4.5 stars.

The Oath We Take by S. Cole is the second interconnected Standalone from Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado series. Yet it is my introduction into the Colorado Chapter with being my first read from the series.

Let it be known that while The Oath We Take was a good read in the end. It can’t be denied that it had me in mixed feelings, and not just because of my indecisiveness towards trying to decide the books overall rating. But due to the pros and cons that had the story going up and down throughout for me.

Starting with the pros, one of them came from within Hudson ‘Atom’ Addams; the Enforcer to Colorado Chapter of Iron Outlaws MC and Ember ‘Em’ Deeks; daughter of the President Nolan ‘Butcher’ Deeks relationship.
I enjoyed following along the Slow Burn of their relationship, that allowed you to take it in more, knowing there was much to be said and done, seeing as Atom and Ember did share history having been best friends when they were younger.
And that was on top of having their individual POV chapters that showcased their monologue. Further adding to the exploration of not just their evolving relationship, but the forbidden aspect of it.
As well as their character development that played into the steps they took, in the decisions they made. All of which was presented front and centre through Atom and Ember always voicing as such.

Atom and Ember did surprise me when it came to learning about them and seeing the type of characters they were.
I liked the fact that despite Ember being the President’s daughter, she held her own.
Not only by keeping away from the MC, but by making a name for herself from the life she built.
The way she always tried to face situations and events head on, proving that she was a strong and tough cookie, with some much more to give. More so within the emotional moments that had her opening up and showing the vulnerable side to her.

There was another pro that came from seeing the development of the subplots involving the MC on a heavy basis.
One being the connection to the main plot of Atom and Ember’s relationship due to President Butcher having warned the Club away from Ember. It definitely bought about drama which made for an interesting read, more so when it exploded from all that came to light.
The other subplot came from the storyline of the fight that the MC were fighting given the situations and events that arose throughout. Pulling you deeper into the development of it all. Especially since the suspense continued to grow as it didn’t just end at the end of The Oath We Take, with author Scarlett letting us know this was only just the beginning, with more still yet to come.

Unfortunately due to the shortcomings, it paved the way for some cons to be had IMO.
The main came from the ending being anticlimactic, mostly due to how quickly it all came together to then be resolved, at least so Atom and Ember could have their HEA.
I just expected more, having wanting to see it play out a little more.
While I enjoyed the Slow Burn of Atom and Ember’s relationship, there was the con from the rest of their journey together seeming to lack excitement due to moving on an even and steady flow for the most part. And although that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, IMO it would have been nice to see a little more pizazz with some explosion between the two.
There was another con from the setting of the story. Maybe it was just me, but it felt like some parts seem to become forgotten. Only to then all of a sudden be thrown forward in an unexpected placement taking the focus for a little bit. To then just be pushed back the next moment.
So for that it left me not so keen on it.

In the end, author S. Cole did a good job in writing a story of Forbidden Romance between Atom and Ember. Whilst paving way for an even deeper storyline within the MC world that is ongoing.
And despite the shortcomings for me in The Oath We Take, I look forward to reading more from Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado series with Smoke and Quinn’s story The Fire We Crave next.

Fantastic story about a forbidden love / relationship and the intense longing for what is meant to be.

The Oath We Take is book two in the Iron Outlaws MC : Colorado series by S. Cole. This spin off series is building up nicely as we get to know the cowboy bikers of the Colorado chapter. This time we get an emotional forbidden romance between Hudson Addams, aka Atom the club’s enforcer and Ember Deeks, the president’s daughter. While the couple battle their feelings for each other and the club, we also get all the usual MC drama and danger as their problems with the Russian Bratva continues. When the trouble gets too close for comfort, who will Atom choose - the club or Ember?

Atom and Ember grew up together, both loving being outside and riding their horses. When they were teenagers their love started to blossom but the moment Atom patched in her father Butcher, the MC’s president immediately put a stop to any ideas Atom had of having a relationship with her
by making her off limits. One summer when she was home from college, he was so conflicted because she had grown into a beautiful woman. He could see himself building a life with her and wanted the opportunity to fight for a chance to be with her but knew while he an Outlaw he could never be the man for her. She asks him for one date but he turns her down with a painful lie and breaks both their hearts.

For the last five years Atom has tried to do the right thing. He has kept his distance and attempted to move on. He has struggled with his feelings for her and the longing to have her has got worse recently. He loves working on the family’s ranch but he also loves being the club’s enforcer so is loyal to his MC oath.

Ember now owns Whiskey Fever, a local bar, she is single as never been able to move on from Atom. She feels they are soul mates and meant to be together. She wonders if his feelings are the same as before because the chemistry and tension is still there between them. He is over protective of her and riles her up regularly. She has a strained relationship with he father and a love-hate one with the club as it always comes first for him and Atom. She knows the club is having problems with the Russians but doesn't expect it to come knocking on her door.

Things start to change for Atom when he’s jealous of a customer she’s flirting with. She agrees to a date but it ends with her and the town being threatened by the Bratav, She is extremely strong and independent throughout the book and I loved how she stood up to her dad and refused to have the club interfere with her business. Butcher unwittingly sends Atom to protect her and this ignites what he has tried so hard to resist. When his resolve cracks she confronts him and asks if he’s finally ready to step up and claim her? Atom is so protective and supportive of her but can he
find a way for them to be together. Is keeping their relationship a secret the solution to their predicament?

Things escalate with the Bratva and loyalty within the club is tested. Atom has to deal with problems with his family and the ranch. Revelations lead to more twists and turns and when her life is in danger all thoughts of pretending he doesn’t love her goes out the window !! It was nice seeing Wraith and Raven doing so well and catching up with King and the original Outlaws. I found Catfish a real sweetie and quite funny. I liked Quinn and her book club. Going to be interesting seeing what happens with her and Storm in the next book. I felt all Atom’s pain over his love for Ember and the club but so glad at the end he put her first.

THE OATH WE TAKE is the second instalment in S. Cole’s contemporary, adult IRON OUTLAWS MC: COLORADO erotic, MC romance series, a spin off from the author’s IRON OUTLAWS MC. This is Iron Outlaws Enforcer, thirty year old Hudson ‘Atom’ Addams, and bar owner Ember Deeks’ story line. THE OATH WE TAKE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Ember is club president Butcher’s daughter

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Atom and Ember) THE OATH WE TAKE follows the forbidden romance and relationship between our story line couple as the Iron Outlaws MC deal with a potential threat to the club. Approximately five years earlier, Hudson ‘Atom ‘ Addams humiliated and broke his best friend Ember Deeks’ heart in the process. Fast forward to present day, Ember Deeks is a proud bar owner, a bar in which the club is welcome but no cuts are allowed, and in this, our heroine struggles with the ongoing presence of the man who broke her heart. Hoping to move on without looking back, Ember’s most recent date ends with an attack by the Russian Bratva, and threats to our heroine and her father’s club. Determined to protect the woman he loves, Atom proclaims himself guardian and protector fearing the repercussions of his president, Ember’s dad . As the club hunts for the people responsible, the threats against Ember become dangerous and deadly, and Atom becomes the prime suspect where her father is concerned.

The world building follows several paths including the tempestuous and forbidden relationship between Atom and Ember; the search for a possible mole; and the fall-out of dysfunctional family dynamics, jealousy and greed.

The relationship between Atom and Ember is a best friends to enemies to frenemies to lovers; a rekindling friendship in the face of forbidden love, forbidden by the man in charge. Struggling to remain unobjective as the woman he loves is threatened. Atom begins an investigation of his own, only to discover a betrayer closer than he could have ever imagined. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense.

There is another large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and dynamic secondary and supporting characters including Ember’s father and club president Butcher; VP Grudge, treasurer Catfish, road captain Smoke, prospect Dice, SAA Wraith and Raven; bakery owner Quinn ; book club member Dawn; Atom’s father Wheeler, and grandfather Breaker, as well as Ember’s date Rocco. The requisite evil has many faces.

THE OATH WE TAKE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, greed and jealousy, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is edgy and dramatic; the romance is fated and seductive; the characters are determined and charismatic

Okay, so here’s the thing, I’m either not in my Scarlett era right now or Scarlett has been taken over by alien word wizards that are #twitchy. It could go either way. 🤷‍♀️😬🤷‍♀️

For me, the storyline itself was good. No problem there. The issue for me is the lack of intensity and grit to the romance journey. MC stories come with an inherit level of suspense and danger, for the most part, when it comes to the “club” and that suspense arc sometimes gets resolved in the story or it’s one that follows the series. The other aspect of an MC story is the grit and spark that normally accompanies a relationship growth. I didn’t get that here. I got a really great story about two people who were best of friends when they were younger and because they couldn’t act on their feelings later in life, there were broken hearts and shattered feelings. Time passes and now they’re all grown up and there’s some danger lurking in the shadows, so the friendship is rekindled and builds to a HEA.

The potential for an explosive and intense relationship journey between Ember and Atom was right there, to be expanded on and explored but instead, a slow-burn sorta path with little to no grit and passion is the path that was written for these two. But it was right there! *cries* lol I’m not gonna lie to you, I was frustrated a lot throughout this journey and I’m honestly a little bit worried about it! I’ve been reading and enjoying Scarlett Cole for a decade and this woman is one of the best out there. Of that I am 100% sure. However, this particular Chapter of the Iron Outlaws MC is not jiving with me at all. #help

I’m not going any further in explaining my issues, because I have mad respect for Scarlett, so enough said on all this, but I do want to reiterate that this is a good storyline and the issues that I seem to be having are not technical issues, but more of a me thing. Ya’ll feel me? So, if you’re a fan of Scarlett’s or even if you’re new, go forth and enjoy. This won’t stop me from reading every word she ever writes. She’s one of the best. #trust

Overall rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
Level of frustration from just talk to each other moments: 📈📈📈

Alright, let’s get into it. This was my first read in this MC universe, and I was a little worried I’d be missing key plot points but if I did? I didn’t notice. The writing was solid, the pacing kept me hooked, and the chemistry? Palpable. You felt the tension, the history, the push-and-pull between Ember and Atom.

I’m not usually a second-chance romance girlie, but this? This wasn’t even really a second chance—it was her shooting her shot and him blocking it for the club (*cue dramatic sigh*). I loved that Ember was independent and fought for what she wanted… though at a certain point, it got a bit exhausting watching everyone ignore her choices. I know it’s “A Thing”, the misogyny within biker clubs, but this honestly pushed a bit too far for my tastes. We don’t see Atom standing up for her enough because his Prez. (Her father) seems to think to know best. That really chafes, but it was entirely on purpose by the author.

Now, let’s talk Atom. Protective? Yes. Broody? Absolutely. But for an MC enforcer, I was expecting more of that dark, dangerous edge. If you’re here for brutal enforcer energy, this one might not hit as hard as you’d hope. I was waiting for the Touch her and Die moment but…. We didn’t get it 🤧 I also needed him to acknowledge the sheer mess he put them both through over the years by saying no and pining. A little more groveling would have elevated the book so much.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

And then there’s the spice. Him baptizing her? I died. I loved the dirty talk. I loved the nurse role play, and most importantly, I loved that he “took” each orgasm from her. But… there were moments I really didn’t want to fade to black, and this book did that to me. Talk about betrayal. 🫠

That said, I loved the friend group, and the setup for the next couple? Yeah, I will be reading it. I’m a sucker for a dead ex-girlfriend’s little sister falls for her protector romance. Yes please and thank you!❤️

So overall? This was good, but I kept wanting just a little more. Darker, dirtier, more touch her and die energy. Still, a solid 4/5 read with 3/5 🌶️. If you’re into MC romances with tension, action, and some seriously swoony moments, this one’s worth picking up.

I always have high expectations when starting a novel penned by Scarlett/S. Cole and I have to say that she never disappoints. Each and every single book that this author has written has been a five-star masterpiece! I keep thinking that the next book can’t be as good as the last, and she keeps proving me wrong…. every single time!!

I adore the Iron Outlaws. I first fell in love with the brothers who are with the New Jersey chapter, and I can’t stop handing my heart over to those in Colorado too. The Oath We Take is Atom’s story. He is the club’s enforcer and I have to say he is perfect in every way! I adore his heart. I love that he is kind, caring and has principles. He is an excellent shooter for a reason; however, I know that if someone has to die at his hands, it’s for good reason.

Ember is a fabulous person. I admire her strength and determination, and I love that she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She too has a kind heart especially when she is looking out for those within her close circle. Em and Atom are perfect for each other, however, when your Prez gives an order, you follow it and Ember being the daughter of Butcher (president of the Colorado chapter) is strictly off limits. I absolutely loved their storyline, and I cannot wait to see how their future unfolds as the series continues.

The Oath We Take is another epic story in this must-read series. I felt so many different emotions throughout this narrative. Scenes when the brothers are together – looking out for one another or simply relaxing in each other’s company warmed my heart. I personally love humour during drama so watch out for this too! The Iron Outlaws is quite simply the best MC series I have ever read.

Forbidden to be together, Ember (the prez's daughter) and Atom have loved each other for years, but when she's threatened, Atoms touch her and d13 comes into play. He'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even face off against his Prez!!

I love the Iron Outlaws, and getting the opportunity to know a new chapter of the group, and have my tasty biker fill, makes me *squee*.
Atom and Embers book is a rollercoaster ride that has you gripped, hanging on for dear life, and leaves you panting when it's over.
I loved this story, Atom is in your face, kill for her protective, but he's also the biggest cinnamon roll when it comes to his Ember ❤️ Ember is an unapologetic hard-ass, that will do anything to prove she doesn't need to be babied, but a cepts his need to keep her safe.
I loved this book, from the first to the last page I was hooked (as usual with Scarletts books!!) The way she weaves a story and drags you in, is in my eyes, one of the best things about reading her books, and this one is no exception. Also Atoms little house off grid????? YES PLEASE!!!!! Arrghhh I'd happily go hide in that cabin and keep him for myself! From bikers, to Bratva, to our cameos from the original guys, this book has everything you need to forget life for a day and loose yourself in a book!! Trust me you won't forget it!! Omg I can't wait for the next book!! Oh and Scarlett thanks for the easter egg of the new species series, its one of my faves and now I want to re read the whole lot again hahahaha 😆

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the story of Hudson/Atom and Ember. He is the Iron Outlaws enforcer and a rancher. Can I just take a second and get you to read that sentence again. A rancher and enforcer. What's not to love about him? She is the President of the MC's daughter and is strictly off limits to any members of the club upon pain of death. When he had a choice to make because she told him how she felt, he had no choice but to turn her down. However, it was one of the hardest things he has ever had to do because he has it bad for her. It was never his intention to hurt her, but she is the President's daughter. Ember is one tough cookie who is not afraid to stand up for herself when she needs to. But she has always her entire life, come second to the club. That's hurtful and stinks. But she has built her life from the ground up. Now the owner of a bar that is successful. However, there is a new man in her life potentially and she is doing well until the Mafia comes calling and threatening her if she doesn't give them money. She finds herself needing some protection and the club assigns Atom to do just that. Now these two are about to spend a lot of time together. However, Atom can feel his chances with her going down the drain when he sees her with this new man. He can't let that happen, or will he? This book is so good. I loved every single second of reading it. These are two character's that you are absolutely going to love. You do not want to miss this book.

Book 2 in the Iron Outlaws Colorado Chapter and a new couple – Hudson aka Atom (Enforcer) and Ember (President’s Daughter) a forbidden romance that is going to give you goosebumps. What could possibly go wrong LOL!
Atom, is a rancher as well the enforcer for the Iron Outlaws, of which the clubhouse is built on his families land. Rancher/cowboy/biker vibe was extremely HOTT got to love a man in leather and a Stetson (fans-face)
Ember is a strong, independent woman and a sassy FMC. Being the Prez’ daughter, she has come second to the club her whole life. She has built a great life for herself outside of the club and refuses to cow-tow or backdown on what she wants. The man in her life is going to have to put her first above all else!
Atom has loved Ember most of his life, but when she opened her heart to him, he turned her down because of the off-limits rule for the Prez’ daughter. Years later Atom realises that he could lose his chance with Ember when he sees her with another man, then her bar is threatened. The Bratva have come to town threatening local businesses in an attempt to force the club out. When Ember’s bar is targeted, Atom is tasked with her protection.
Forced close together it is only a matter of time before the gloves come off and the sparks fly. You can’t help but fall in love with Atom, his protectiveness of Ember and the way he supports her independence. He is willing to put Ember before the club and his family’s ranch if it means they can be together, just what Ember has always wanted!!
Book 1 great, book 2 awesome, book 3 can’t wait!!!

S. Cole’s The Oath We Take, the second installment in the Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado series, is a captivating blend of forbidden love, motorcycle club drama, and intense romance. The story follows Ember, the president's daughter, and Hudson "Atom" Addams, the club's brooding enforcer, as they navigate a complex web of loyalty, protection, and unrequited love.

One of the standout features of The Oath We Take is its ability to balance high-stakes action with emotional depth. The characters are well-developed, and their relationships are multifaceted, making it easy to become invested in their journey. Cole’s writing style is engaging, and the plot is well-structured, setting a strong foundation for the series.

The romance between Ember and Atom is intense and passionate, with a compelling dynamic that explores themes of mutual pining and forbidden love. Their story is a sweet exploration of how to communicate effectively in a relationship, which adds a refreshing layer of realism to the narrative[2]. However, some readers might find that certain plot points feel slightly predictable or that the character development could be more nuanced in places.

Overall, The Oath We Take is a solid four-star read for fans of MC romances and forbidden love stories. It’s a great addition to the series, offering a mix of darkness, passion, and loyalty that will keep readers engaged until the very end. While it can be read as a standalone, starting with the first book in the series might enhance the overall experience.

🔥 THE OATH WE TAKE 🔥
📖 By S. Cole 📖

💀 He let her go once. He won’t make that mistake again. 💀

🏍 MC Romance | 💙 President’s Daughter x Brooding Enforcer | ☠️ Hands Off Clause | ✖️ Forbidden Love | 🌞 Grumpy/Sunshine | 💦 Breeding Kink

✨ Ember knew the rules—no biker touches the president’s daughter and lives to tell the tale. But that didn’t stop her heart from belonging to Hudson "Atom" Addams, the club’s dangerous and brooding enforcer. Five years ago, he let her go to keep her safe. Now, she’s back in his life—and in danger.

🔥 The Bratva is coming for her bar.
🔥 Her father has assigned Atom as her protector.
🔥 Late nights, close quarters, and tension thick enough to cut.

He was her first. He’s the only man she’s ever wanted. And this time? He won’t walk away.

But claiming Ember means breaking the club’s most sacred rule—and Atom is willing to start a war if that’s what it takes. He’ll burn the whole town down before he lets her slip away again.

⚠️ Warning: This book is scorching HOT with a capital H! Expect possessive alphas, dangerous tension, and a hero who will break every rule to protect his woman.

💬 Drop a 🔥 in the comments if you’re ready for forbidden love, explosive passion, and an MC enforcer who NEVER plays by the rules!
