Out of all the learning to read books that are out there I find myself largely enjoying those that treat children as adults while also providing them with a fun informative read. As such this is one such book that helps children to learn more about teeth whether it is for those that are in their mouth or any other animal's mouth.
The writing is very basic and simple to understand while presented in full sentence format. At the same time the font is bold, the words are simple and there really aren't any big words that require an adult's assistance. As such after a read or two with an adult or even with an adult just stepping in occasionally young readers will find they achieve a quick read in no time.
At the same time there are facts in the back of the book that give the reader some great tips for keeping their teeth clean and in good shape.
My only complaint with this book are the illustrations. Like many other from this series the pictures are brightly colored but the animals are definitely not realistic while holding a bit of a strange clownish look that is a bit on the creepy side.
All in all it is a great read and one that I would recommend for homes who are looking to improve their libraries to include more nonfiction reads or even to include reads that help with daily maintenance.
I liked how informational this book was. It discusses all the different kinds of teeth we have and what they are used for, and then it also discusses the different types of teeth animals have and how that affects what they eat. It did it in a very non-boring way too. I read it to a group of kindergartners and they found it interesting and they liked learning about their teeth.
