Ahhh this book had so much potential 😮💨… but whew, six POVs?! It was a bit much. It really should’ve stuck to one couple—maybe two—but juggling three full storylines? It was giving emotional whiplash. 😵💫
That said, I did enjoy seeing how Will and Tim wrapped up ❤️🩹, and the only other duo I was truly invested in was Charlie and Xavier (the tension! 👀). But of course, I gotta wait ‘til the next book to find out what happens with them. Sigh. 😩📚
4.5 ⭐️ This book was even better than the first book. The spicy scenes were chef kisses. I liked how we got both Will’s and Tamantha’s friends POV and what happens and who they get with. During the whole book I was like Xavier and Charlie need their own book and at the end I find out they are!!! I’m so freaking excited for when it comes out. Xavier is my absolute favorite his mouth is just 👀
Ahhhhhh!!!! I am literally screaming because, what!?!?
This novel picks up with Will proposing to Timantha, and they immediately start the shenanigans. In this book 2, we get multiple POV's, including the girls from the book club as well as Will's friends. I believe their are 6 POV's, but I promise it was not confusing or chaotic.
In typical Will fashion, he goes over and beyond to please his bride. This man set their destination wedding on a Greek Island and planned a Co-Ed bachelor/Bachelorette party on a private jet. That's not even the best part. This man made the theme a book club full of all her favorite book boyfriends and spicy events.
The way Will showed up for Tim in book 2, I was so proud. However, my favorite element of the story was the friendships. The banter between the girls was top tier. The Tea!!!!!!!! The girls were key keying, and I was LIVING! You best believe I was imagining myself on that jet doing all the things. This group has no filter and you won't believe the things that come out of their mouth.
I love that the FMC's were strong, educated, successful, women with their own careers, goals, dreams, and ambitions.
T.L. Martin did a phenomenal job writing this novel as I noticed every character got their own chapter. So when I say the character development spot on l, it was truley a movie.
Black women deserve a love that exceeds their wildest dreams.
We get multiple happily ever afters, and there will be a book 3 😁.

Favorite Quotes: "Not only did her wig fly off, but you tried to convince her to finish the date in prison braids!"
This was a fun rom com! I think this would be perfect for a palette cleanser. Don’t let the title fool you, this is not a “valentines” themed book. I know some people like to read certain books only during certain times of year. This can be read whenever- doesn’t have to be valentines/February. This is Will and Timantha’s happily ever after and follows them through their bachelor/bachelorette parties and their wedding. Please read the Black Wife Effect first. While you don’t have to, I think it’ll give better perspective.
We have fun, witty banter with multiple POVs. There are 6 POVs but it never felt clunky or disjointed. I found that the story flowed well even with the multiple POVs. If you’re looking for a book that will literally have you LOL, then this is for you! I don’t know about yall, but I love me a billionaire and Will made sure he spared no expense for Timantha. I also enjoyed the sisterhood/friendship in this book and the book/book club references.
I didn’t feel Justice and Autika’s connection. I know they had been sleeping together for years but I didn’t feel the connection that warranted anything more than that. It felt more like Autika just didn’t want to lose him vs actually wanting him for life and really being in love with him. I understand she was scared but felt he deserved more. It made him come off as a bit desperate and thirsty
"My Filthy Rich Valentine" by T.L. Martin is a vibrant, multi-perspective rom-com that dives into the lives of Timantha, Autika, and Anastasia, set against the backdrop of Will's extravagant wedding plans. The book delivers a rollercoaster of emotions, blending humor, romance, and the complexities of female friendships.
The story picks up with Will's proposal to Timantha, launching into a series of over-the-top events, including a co-ed bachelor/bachelorette party on a private jet and a destination wedding on a Greek island. Martin skillfully weaves together multiple points of view, offering insights into each character's personal journeys and relationships. Despite the numerous perspectives, reviewers found the narrative flowed smoothly, avoiding confusion and maintaining engagement.
One of the book's strongest elements is its celebration of Black female friendships. The dynamic between the women is portrayed with authenticity and humor, showcasing their unwavering support and unfiltered banter. Reviewers particularly enjoyed the "tea" sessions and the relatable moments of camaraderie. The author's ability to capture the essence of these friendships resonated deeply with readers, creating a sense of connection and relatability.
The romance aspect of the novel is equally compelling. Will's dedication to Timantha is highlighted, with his elaborate wedding plans and thoughtful gestures demonstrating his deep affection. The book also explores the evolving relationships of Autika and Anastasia, adding layers of emotional depth to the narrative. The steamy encounters and romantic tension, especially between Anastasia and Xavier, were praised for their intensity and chemistry.
Honestly, I was laughing out loud through most of it. The humor in this book is spot-on. There were moments I was literally hollering. It wasn't just funny, though. There were some really heartfelt moments too, especially with the girls and their friendships.
I loved that all the women were strong, independent, and had their own goals. They weren't just side characters; they were fully fleshed out, and I felt like I knew them. It felt like a love letter to Black women, and honestly, it made me feel good.
There were so many laugh out loud moments, and steamy scenes that made me blush. I felt like I was right there with them. I'm already dying for the next book! It was a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars for me.

I don't usually say a book had me in a chokehold, but this book did that and MORE. I discovered this series by accident. I was reading a dark romance book when I saw The Black Wife Effect on Hoopla and decided to listen on a whim during a walk. I was immediately hooked, jumped into My Filthy Rich Valentine, and now I'm racing to read The Seven Day Hitch (Book 3). TL Martin is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. My Filthy Rich Valentine is a fascinating, well-developed follow-up to Book 1. I loved seeing the friendship between the female characters blossom even further. The chemistry between the characters was explored beautifully, and the writing was absolutely top-tier. I could FEEL the passion, the emotions, the tensionbetween them. My favorite characters were Xavier and Charlie. The hints and bits of passion building between them had me so excited to keep reading. Then the last chapter gave us a glimpse of another story with Grant, and I knew I had to continue immediately. I believe Grant's story will be in a different series. What I love most about this series is that I'm reading about Black women just having a good time, having fun, enjoying their lives in a quintessential billionaire romance book. That's such a beautiful thing to see and read about, and TL Martin writes it so well. If you love romance with depth, friendship, passion, and Black women thriving, you NEED this series. I'm about to read Book 3 and then dive into the Atlanta series afterwards. Also, I love that this has elements of sports romance. So yesss. I cannot wait.
💸 Love, Lust & Laughter: My Filthy Rich Valentine by T.L. Martin 💸
This book had everything—drama, laughter, and some moments that had me HOLLERING! 😩😂 From the very beginning, I knew it was gonna be a ride—and hate to drop spoilers, but that date scene with the Black girl and the wind?! I was crying! And let’s not forget how Will always screaming, “Tika, what the f*ck?!” had me rolling every time! 😂🔥
It was refreshing to see Timmy step outside her usual character, and I loved watching Anastasia (aka Charlie) finally experience love… or at least some temporary lust. 👀 The book delivered on EVERYTHING it was supposed to give, and I am so ready for Anastasia and Xavier to go even deeper! The tension is there, and I just know it’s about to be chaos in the best way!
If you love rich drama, steamy romance, and characters that’ll have you laughing and gasping all at once, this is a must-read! T.L. Martin did her thing! 🔥📖✨
This was definitely filthier than the first book. Whereas the first one had the spice interspersed, this one was almost hedonistic. I found Grant annoying, Will and Timantha cute when we weren't descending into their S&M nonsense (seriously... is being restrained the only way to be intimate? How about grabbing a cup of coffee??), and I found Xavier and Charlie/Anastasia interesting despite their inabililty to openly communicate (or for Charlie to be mad at Xavier for being hot and cold when she peer pressured him into giving up some goods).
I will say WAYYY too much Autika and Justice. I fast forwarded her chapters after a while because 1 kidnapping is extreme... but 2? I couldn't stand her and her audacity. And Justice's dumbass feeding her delusions. I was glad they moved from being the focal point of the first act.
This was a really enjoyable read! The banter, the dynamics, the smut- it was just so fun! All three black FMCs felt like a true representation of someone I know and the interactions and reactions to other races were so on point. I appreciated the black culture references, and the pop culture references too. I was a bit disappointed that one couple was left unfinished, but understand it's because they will have their own book, so I'm not too mad about it.
One thing to note that was super annoying- the kindle version of this book needs editing. It wasn't so bad that I didn't understand, but bad enough that it was quite annoying in some places. T.L if you're reading this- I will literally edit your kindle versions free of charge to make sure other readers have a smooth experience!
Ignore the hateful review from someone that clearly didn’t read the book OR just hates Black women.
Just finished this book and it was NOTHING LIKE I expected in the BEST way. I have never read a book with more than 2 perspectives and I wasn’t sure how this story would resolve with so many POVs, but it worked!
It was like catching up with old girlfriends (the book club) Its sexy (Charlie and Xavier!? 🥵) It was sentimental and tear jerking (Justice and Tika) It was FILTHY (Will and Timantha)
It was HILARIOUS!
In ONE BOOK!
Overall, it felt like a needed love letter to Black women and I found myself cheering for these ladies throughout the book.
Whew this book was good and spicy! This was an immersive reading experience- I listened to the audiobook and had a digital copy. That audiobook was so good and the casted narrators made these characters come to life. While all the characters were enjoyable there was something about Xavier and his voice that had me clutching my pearls.
This author has a way of writing characters that are multi dimensional and relatable. I loved the friendship between the women and I adored how these men were wiling to do whatever to make sure they were happy.
This book had a great start and having the 6 POVs was a bit much but was easy to follow along afterwards.
I liked how the story continued Will and Timantha’s story, the introduction to Autika and Justice’s relationship and Anastasia and Will’s story was different but not bad.
The spice 🌶️🥵 levels were everything I could’ve asked for in a book.
Now, there was a point where the audio and the book didn’t flow/follow. I got two extra chapters in my audio which wasn’t bad but I thought something was wrong 🤣🤣🤣.
This was book two of the “Black Wife Effect” and I was throughly entertained! This book was very well written and had an excellent storyline! It was funny, sexy and steamy with just the right amount of heat! It will keep you engaged, entertained and captivated! I would highly recommend this book after of course recommending book one!! Looking forward to reading more from this author in the future!.

This book had me in tears laughing at so many times. The heat was amazing, the ease of the relationship of Tim and Will. Their friendships and relationships all blend seamlessly, it is wonderful. Thank you for not having so much drama between them it was a refreshing change for a storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait for Autisa and Charlie’s books. Thank you for sharing your gift.
After reading the black wife effect, it was lovely reading about the feminas as their lives transitioned and their relationships grew stronger. I cannot wait to see what happens with Charlie and Xavier. I hope there are some surprises in store for Tim and Tika as well.
The whole gang is here, with extras!!! My Filthy Rich Valentine, The Black Wife Effect, Book 2 by T L Martin is sexy, emotional and laugh out funny!!! My thoughts were all over the place. Get ready for kidnappings by planes , weddings and find out who else gets a chance at love!! Great read! Check it out.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This was so good and I was already in love with Will and Timantha now I love them more I love Tika and Justice and I need more of them. I’m excited about Stasi and Xavier but I don’t want the cat and mouse games I want unrelenting passion that’s it we waited long enough. I really enjoy this author and I’m ready for more
Took a while for it to get started but once it did, it picked up with three different romances with six POV’s. Xavier was my favorite MMC for this book. In my opinion, race was mentioned too much for it to be natural. There was a lot of repetition, chapter 37 has a whole page that basically repeats word for word.
I didn't really like having 6 pov. I did like that we got a resolution to Timantha and Will. I did like seeing both Tika and Justice relationships and the introduction of Charles and Xavier. I feel like Justice and Tika were robbed, and I would have loved them having their own book.
Will and Timmy never disappoint. That wedding night was everything. I have never laughed so hard in my life. I definitely can say that I can't wait to read the next book, and if Justice and Tika ever get a book, I'll be the first in line to purchase.
The 1st book was a delightful love story. Fun, romantic and sexy... All the things.. I was so excited for book two.. I was crushed to see the two lovebirds morphed into a bad version of Christian and Anastasia Grey. Whomp Whomp... Oh well!
Wow … Tim’s girlfriends are certifiable! What happened to Grant tho? I was very excited for Justice because Tika was a bit much. Xavier and Charlie, we shall see! Will is the man!
Intense, comical and steamy. I like this story, the characters are exciting and the storyline is interesting and emotionally engaging. The pace is steady/fast although not rushed at the same time remaining informative. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
i love me some Will and Timantha I can’t get enough of them and I loved Justice and Tika and I can’t wait for Stasi and Xavier to get their ish together because the chemistry between them is burning hot… I love a good sisterhood between friends and I’m ready for more
