3.25 RATING- So I know I'm in the minority here, but I really struggled with this one. Now I love a dirty talking alpha hero as much (or more!) than the next girl, but sometimes, it can just be too much. The dirty talk was just too much for me. I just couldn't imagine a man in real life going on and on and on like that. For me, it went from being really sexy to being a bit eye roll worthy. I also thought the book was long and could have used a bit of editing. I really struggled to get through th

Second book in the series and I actually liked this one better than book 1. The H is a 42 year old DEA agent who also happens to be one very hot alpha, bad ass male. Has worked under cover his whole 20 year career and has never been married or in love. He meets the h when he goes to Paradise, TX seeking to find information on the drug dealer who supposedly killed his sister 20 years ago. There are 4 sisters in this series and the books revolve about the men they fall in love with. The h is a str ...more

Good God this book was LONG, or maybe it just felt really long, I dunno. I was really slow moving the first half of the book, then it seemed to pick up pace, and I was enjoying it more.

I love all the characters in this series, they come across as such a close family and friends. Jake was a great alpha H, smoking hot, and tatted up. Harmony, was also a great h, strong and feisty. Heaven was a cutie pie, and I loved her relationship with Jake.

Overall I enjoyed it, but think it could have maybe bee

**re-read, 4 1/2 stars, I read this book and really liked it and I know I wrote a review but some of my books and reviews seem to be disappearing on Goodreads:(. This is the second book I read that review has vanished. But I also was 7 books ahead of my reading goal and I looked 20 minutes later and no joke it said I was only 2 books ahead. I'm not going crazy I promise.

This was a great book filled with not only a great hero and heroine but side charters as well.

I wasn't sure if I was going to stick with this when I first started it, as it seemed to go at a slower pace than the first one but I am so glad I did. Really enjoyed the suspense and flood of alpha males, particularly Jacob who was perfect for Harmony and Heaven. Loved seeing him and Heaven together, he was just wonderful with that little girl.

I can't wait for Abel and Patience's story, I think my Kindle may just explode with those two going at each other.

I can't tell you how disappointed I was with this story after I so looked forward to it.
Second in a series it was on my wish list for a while. I considered bypassing the first book but was able to get books one and two in a bundle for only $2.99. Considering the first book was novella length and this one is pretty long, I thought it was a bargain.

Things that seemed small in the first book, like how bitchy the sisters were to their prospective mates, particularly Patience were amplified in this

"Hard as Stone" is the story of Jake and Patience.
Jake is an undercover Drug enforcement DEA agent, who decides to come investigate Patience as she was married to Tanner, who is now a drug lord.
My issues with this book
- oh god the length. Way too long.
- If he knew about her past, there was no point making her re-experience those scars- also doing what he did with her considering her trust issues
I still appreciated the banter and bond between the sisters and Olga, as well as Zeke but I couldn't

I have been waiting for Hot As Stone since I first read Cain’s Salvation. I LOVED that book. Surely nothing could top it, right?

I am not sure if Hard As Stone topped it because I really love Cain, BUT, if it didn’t, it is right up there with it. I loved loved loved Hard As Stone. (That is a triple love there you see.)

453 pages read in one day.

Yep.

I could not put this book down. It was one of those books that had me carrying my iPad around the house with me, to the store, outside while the kid

Review for Hard as Stone by Sarah O’Rourke

Hard as Stone. HARD AS STONE. Whew. Let me just tell you, every single book I read by Sarah O’Rourke just gets better and better. I have fallen head over heels in love with how Sarah spins a tale. Her characters are always well developed and spot on to how the type of person would act, react, etc — her alpha men are freakin’ alpha all the dang way. Make you pant, make you shake your kindle in annoyance at the pig-headedness, make you swoon, and drench yo

Drop what you are doing and read this book!!!!

This is book two in the Passion in Paradise: The Men of the McKinnon Sisters Series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Once I opened the first page I couldn't put it down (I took a couple of breaks in the two days it took me to read it cause I was on vacation, lol). The book is well written, in true Sarah O'Rourke fashion. The characters, most of which we met in book one are hard not to love, and the new ones as well. This book will take you on a

This series is about 4 sisters who live in a small town in Paradise, Tennessee. The sisters are extremely close and work together in the family restaurant/bar that their parents owned and they inherited when they died. Each sister has had something traumatic in one form or another happen to them that still haunts them. It takes their faith and the men that are in their lives to help them overcome their tragedies.

Harmony McKinnon is the oldest of the sisters and the only one that has been previo

The second Jacob Stone met Harmony McKinnon, he knew she was his one. Jacob had to tread delicately with Harmony for a few reasons, the biggest the reason he is there. Jacob is an undercover DEA agent and Harmony's ex has ties to the man who led to his sisters death. He has been hunting his trail for years and wont stop until he has his revenge.

Harmony has not dated since she divorced his sadistic ex, everything about Jacob screams bad boy but Harmony finds she is also learning to trust him. Ja

This is the second book in the series. When I read the first one I was blown away and I thought NOTHING could top that one but I was WRONG. This was such a good book. I fell in love with Jacob as much as I fell in love with Cain in the first one. This author is fast becoming a must read author for me.....

It was well written sexy story with lots of action but I wish the author would have developed their relationship better. It pretty much started out with him saying we are together forever, end of.

Much better than book 1 but dragged a bit in the storytelling. Will be looking for Abel and Patience's book when it comes out.

Mmmm, mmmmm, mmmm, love me some Jake. You all can have the rest of the McKinnon girls men, but Jake is mine. He is one of my favorite characters in this group. You know how some people can just do no wrong...no matter what they do, that’s my Jake. This man had me when he first got there, his honesty is refreshing, he never holds back what he thinks and never apologizes either. Yeah, he does keep why he’s there from Harmony, but he was trying to protect her and make sure the family was not involv ...more

Hard as Stone

When undercover DEA agent Jacob Stone comes into town all his preconceived notions about Harmony goes out the window. She and her sisters are loved by everyone in their hometown. But bad things happen. When her abusive ex husband comes back old memories come to light. Is Jake the right man to help her out? What about the past? Will there be answers to what happened to Honor? This is the second book in this series. And so far I have lived them.

An intense family drama

This book was such an intense story. It's filled with lots of drama from an extremely close family, some terrible characters, terrible deeds and some amazingly protective family and friends. That made this one very interesting story that pulled me in and kept my attention until the very last word.

I'm loving this town called Paradise and these four crazy sisters. This was a much longer book than the first one. A lot of past stuff came up that made my heart hurt. I loved Jake and Harmony and Heaven was super cute. I cannot wait to read patience and Abel's story next.

Even better than the first!!

This was a great follow-up to Cain's Salvation, book one in the Passion in Paradise series surrounding the McKinnon sisters. In the first book we met the family and learned about Cain and Faith's rocky relationship. In the second book we move on to Harmony and Heaven as our main characters while learning more and more about the other two McKinnon's - Patience and Honor. The story keeps you hooked. Harmony and Patience are extra sassy and full of surprises. We meet a n

Hard As Stone (Passion in Paradise: The Men of the McKinnon Sisters #2) by Sarah O'Rourke

Jacob "The Widowmaker" and Harmony "The Nice One"

BEAUTIFUL, GUT WRENCHING, AND SATISFYING!

I am in awe! This book was so much more than I ever thought it would be. It's packed with so many emotions that I'm pretty sure I was weeping and laughing at the same damn time! We have rough and tough alpha males facing off. We've got the McKinnon sisters pouncing and bouncing off the walls.... AND then there's Heave

What Worked For Me:
WOW! Just….simply put….WOW! There are not enough adequate words to describe how completely my mind was blown reading Hard As Stone! Sarah O’Rourke ratchets things up a notch in book 2 of this series…and by things I mean EVERYTHING, the suspense, the drama, the laughter, the tears and the deeply sexual and highly erotic relationship between the next McKinnon Sister and her deliciously hunky hero!!!! Harmony McKinnon is our heroine in this book and I adore her. She has not had i

**JOSIE'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW**

I loved Cain’s Salvation and I could not wait to see Harmony and Jacob’s story. Once I started with this I could not put it down. This series just keeps getting better and better. Hard As Stone was written beautifully and it dealt with real life issues. I did not think any man would top Cain but boy was I wrong. Ms. O’Rourke gave readers a male hero who was off the charts hot. The author brings us characters that you cannot help but love and want to reach into your kin
