More Scrumptious Treats For Vintage Housekeepers

Rate this book
If you have read my first book “Scrumptious Treats for Vintage Housekeepers”, then you will be familiar with the joy that is opening it and finding among its pages, inspiration for the kind of tiny little home-making to-do that reminds you that housekeeping doesn’t have to be all drudgery and dishwater… Sometimes a puttery treats is an old-fashioned homemakers tip, often it is the kind of crafty little something even the truly un-crafty amongst us can do, and occasionally it is a reminder that you need to slow down and look after yourself. Each is created to fill a puttery moment or lose yourself in an entire afternoon of making your house and home feel more authentically yours… Arranged seasonally, there are lists of treats for Spring and Autumn, Valentine’s Day and Easter. There are little tasks for organizing Christmas and others for cheering yourself up when the world isn’t treating you kindly. Simply dip in and out of each list as and when you need a reminder that housework isn’t just about dirt and dust-bunnies… Enjoy won’t you?

Enough cute and puttery treats to keep any homemaker (that's homemaker, not housekeeper really) happy. lowers, scents, pretty little things to charm the house and lift the heart. Sometimes in the middle of the most serious life you need a shiny brightness to keep you happy. Alison May has taken some of the best parts of her Brocante Home blog and made a deliciously light book that will cheer you (if it doesn't drive you wild first)
Not for the totally serious feminist, but not for a doormat either.

Another wonderful book by Alison

I can't get enough of Alison's tips to make a house a home! Some ideas are vintage, some are handy, some are just pretty and comforting. I love them all.
