She’ll be my captive, my bride, my perfect possession.
From the moment I saw her, I knew she’d be mine.
She looks so sweet and innocent, just my type.
Her father owes Fraternitas a debt, and she’s the one who will pay.
But when she poisons me, I realize… this won’t be so easy. This manic pixie murderer is not going to submit without a fight.
I’ve been fighting all my life. She was meant to be my reward.
I will have Belladonna Bosco as my wife or die trying. And my psychotic bride makes it clear she would love to be the death of me.
This is one fight I cannot lose.
She is my perfect poison. One taste and I only want more.
Book 2 in the Fraternitas series by Lee Savino, an arranged marriage mafia romance starring Kaiser and Belladonna Bosco. Standalone and Happily Ever After guaranteed!
To be honest,it took me a while to finish His Perfect Poison. And it wasn’t because of Kaiser….it was because of Bella. Kaiser was perfect,i loved him from start to finish. He stalked Bella as a job at first, but after he fell for her,he wanted more. Because she made him feel, and not just a little…..she made him feel everything he’d ever hoped for. He was determined to protect and keep her for the rest of his life, and Fraternitas gave her to him. Even her father agreed he would be perfect for her….. That man though…..i agree with Bella on this one, wasn’t a good father. And he was probably why she turned out the way she did. Ok,her mother was murdered when she was only 5,and she heard it. But her father should’ve been there for her,and he wasn’t. The “adult” Bella poisoned people who she thought deserved it,and kept saying YOLO all the time. She kept doing stupid stuff in the name of revenge, and didn’t think of the consequences. She didn’t act as an adult would at all,but expected to be treated as one anyway. It wasn’t until late in the story, when one of her actions nearly killed Kaiser, that she grew up a little.
So,as i said,Kaiser was the one that made me finish this one. And as such, those 3 🌟 go to him.
5⭐️ 3🌶️ 🔥Dark Romance ☠️Mafia 🔥Arranged Marriage ☠️Poison Ivy Vibes 🔥Age Gap ☠️Scarred Hero 🔥Touch Him & ☠️ ☠️Manic Pixie Heroine 🔥Dual First Person POV
I think Lee has a thing for Batman and DC Comics. First she brought us a kinky Batman inspired mmc in The His Perfect Darkness duet and now with His Perfect Poison, she’s merged Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn to create Belladonna Bosco. A petite 18 year old whose favorite show is Vampire Varsity and a killer knowledge of plants. With the Poisoner for a father, Bella possesses a love and knowledge of plants, especially the deadly ones. Then there’s Kaiser, skull mask wearing underground fighter and Fraternitas brother who’s numb to pain and emotions…picture the villain Bane. Bella has just enrolled in Unitas Unversity, her first step in becoming a supervillain. This is her first foray into the real world after being homeschooled through high school. She navigates her new world with a unique brand of chaotic energy and curiosity. Kaiser is obsessive, overprotective, and keeps everyone at arms length. He is tasked with watching over Bella and is rewarded with what he wants most, her. When Bella learns of their arranged marriage she decides she’ll do whatever it takes to get out of it. Kaiser makes the mistake of underestimating how dangerous she is and Bella is excited to have found a formidable opponent. Even though Bella is trying to poison him and get out of the arranged marriage, she doesn’t want to hurt Kaiser…much. They have off the charts chemistry, with a complex and messy bond. Their journey is fraught with tension and danger. This book is spicy! The power dynamic between Kaiser and Bella made for some intense and hot scenes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Addictive, Emotional, and Utterly Captivating Read
Bella stole my heart from the very first chapter. She’s sheltered, quirky, and beautifully unique — a girl who cherishes her poisonous garden and clings to her beloved Viking romance novel like it’s a lifeline. After being homeschooled for years, she finally steps out into the world… and watching her navigate it with such chaotic charm and bright curiosity was an absolute joy. She’s one of those characters who simply shines on the page.
And then there’s Kaiser. My goodness. Overprotective, fiercely loyal, and determined to keep everyone at arm’s length — especially when it comes to touch. Or at least… he used to. Because Bella walks into his life like a spark in dry grass, and everything changes. When he’s assigned to watch over her, he does it a little too well, and when he’s finally offered whatever he wants most, he doesn’t hesitate: he wants her.
But falling for Bella is anything but simple.
Their dynamic is pure magic. They don’t just see the best in each other — they see the hidden parts, the vulnerable pieces no one else has taken the time to understand. Their bond is intense, messy, deeply emotional, and beautifully authentic. I found myself rooting for them with every page.
And the spice? Let’s just say it’s blisteringly hot — we’re talking melt-your-Kindle levels, all perfectly woven into the emotional depth of their relationship.
Lee Savino’s writing is powerful, immersive, and achingly heartfelt. There’s one scene in particular that had me full-on crying — the kind of moment that stays with you long after you’ve finished the book.
This story exceeded every expectation. If you love emotional depth, irresistible chemistry, and unforgettable characters, this is a must-read.
"His Perfect Poison" is the second book in the Fraternitas series, and it is nothing short of exceptional. Belladonna and Kaiser are a dangerously intriguing power couple, and their journey to a HEA is a complex, raw, and emotional wild ride that the author orchestrates with brilliant skill. I was completely drawn in and couldn’t stop reading; I found myself wishing Bella and Kaiser’s story would go on forever.
As the daughter of the Poisoner, Bella possesses an unparalleled love for plants and has studied every variety, making her both fascinating and deadly. This unique quality sets her apart in Kaiser’s eyes—she is the only one who truly sees and touches him. Their bond is complex and messy, but it’s also powerful; they each would go to any lengths to protect one another.
The author has once again created characters who are perfectly matched in every way within a beautifully crafted world that is both savage and alluring. Additionally, the strong and intriguing side characters kept me wanting more. Having started with this book, I am now excited to dive back into the series and read about Kaiser’s twin brother, Jaeger, in "His Perfect Prey."

THAT was one WILD RIDE! Wow. I don’t even know where to start. This couple is so messed up I was just sure they were going to kill each other before chapter 5. Somehow they managed to survive each other and even have some fun doing it. These are probably two of the most interesting characters from this author (though my heart belongs to Foxfire … IYKYK). Can’t wait for another installment from this world. Five smokin’ hot stars.
HIS PERFECT POISON! By Lee Savino. The FMC has a personality of Harley Quinn but the skills of Poison Ivy.☠️ She has a strong passion for poisonous plants 🌱 The MMC takes the roll as her stalker bodyguard. Hired to watch over her by the Mafia like fraternity he is apart of. Did I mention he’s hot?? 🥵 🔥The story is sexy, hot, and full of danger. It is playful so try to keep in mind the setting when reading. Oh, the Spotify playlist that goes with the book… yeah, FIRE!
I had a really hard time getting into this book. I really didn’t like Bella at all. Her brattiness and self inflated ego were unbearable at times. I so wanted him to kill her and get it over with. So selfish and blind to the consequences of her actions. Kaiser was so enamored with her. Bella got to redeems herself at the end, but it was still very hard to like her. Good read have to be patient with it.
Received a copy from BookSprout for an honest review.
This is book 2 of 2, so far 😁, in the series: Fraternitas. Oh, be still my heart, where do I begin? This book is very much a dark mafia…again, dark😁, romance. Deals with a Manic stalker, psychotic, enslavement, fight for power, illness, edge play, past death of a parent, drugging, early life on the streets, stalking, underground fight rings, abuse, hunting. Yet funny, endearing, loving and thoughtful. The villain is possesive, protective, obsessive. Doms and Submissive’s, And a heroine who’s villainous and venomous 😁. But innocent physically and in many other ways. You will love her “Supervillain Rule’s” Club! We have Belladonna Bosco, Bella is our petite, eighteen year old, beautiful brown haired, though white blonde at the moment, MFC. More than a bit psychotic and loves her poisonous plants. Sees herself as a Supervillain. Her father Benjiro Bosco owes Fraternitas a debt. They know of the Benjiro’s business with Alfredo Vesuvio. And their payment for protection and silence, is an arranged marriage between Bella and Kaiser. The Don Vesuvio Mafia family are targeting the Poisoner, Benjiro Bosco’s, daughter, Bella. Whoever controls the Poisoner, controls the game. She’s under the protection of the “Fraternitas”. She knows her way around poisonous plants. And has a secret no one knows. A few actually😁. She attends Unitas University and made friends with Honey and Raines. They form “Villaini”, the three’s ride or die group. Kaiser is older with longish blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes and very muscular. Dangerously pretty for a man. Has Cauliflower Ear from too much fighting and lack of ear protection. Wears a skull ring placing him as a Fraternitas. The Unofficial rulers of New Rome. St. James and Damien (The Devil), leaders of the Fraternitas, with himself, his twin brother Jaeger and Atticus, among others. When he’s assigned to follow and protect Bella, it was just a job. One that very quickly became a stalking, obsessive possessiveness. And when the Fraternitas was ready, with him getting one wish, he asked for Bella as his wife. Ok ok ok! There’s so much I want to tell you but just know this, it’s freaking fantastic!!! You will learn more of the four founding mafia family’s that founded Unitas University. More on the Fraternitas and its members. Their childhood and how Kaiser and Jaeger survived a hard childhood on the streets as early as eight. Who Maestro is, and why Kaiser’s nerve ending are numb and he didn’t like to be touched. More on Pandemonium- Club Empire a sex club St James own. And a hint at a future story like when Ransom Saint shows up for his stepsister Raine at the sex club. Intent on finding his Raines. With men and machine guns! Ohhh that sounds like a possible delicious story to come😜!? These two are Two messed up damaged, psychotic, people. Each scared to let the other have power over the other. An unhinged heroine and her beautiful, unfeeling mafia man. There is a sweet moment where we are led to feel Bella’s mother, Shoshonna Bosco, visited them both in spirit, when Kiser feeling a touch on his hair and both of them snelling her trademark scent, Roses and lily of the valley after a bad moment in our story. Again this is a dark read, and there may be trigger points for some, so DO check the author’s list. But WOW! was it ever a fantastic book with fantastic story line and believable, lovable…or hateable😁 characters, that was written so believable and feeling’s delivered with raw emotions.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.

His Perfect Poison, book two in the Fraternitas series follows Jaeger’s twin brother, Kaiser, and “The Poisoner’s” daughter, Belladonna Bosco. Bella is a quirky, albeit slightly psychotic girl with a fascination for poisonous plants and a lack of social skills from having been homeschooled most of her life. Kaiser is bossy, overprotective and fiercely loyal to those he cares about, though he keeps himself closed off from the world, safe in his unfeeling bubble. When Kaiser is assigned bodyguard duty over Bella, he’s instantly attracted to her, but not only that, for the first time in his life he craves someone’s touch. But when Bella learns that her fate is tied to Kaiser’s, she doesn’t just lie down and submit, she fights back.. and she fights back hard. Can Kaiser survive this tiny poison wielding tornado, hellbent on killing him? Or will they learn to live with one another? I can't wait to, hopefully, read more about the other characters in this book ; Honey, Raine, Ransom, Atticus.. so many to list, so many stories to learn about.
I'll be honest, I wasn't sure if I was going to like this story. I'm usually not a fan of "college" stories, but this is better than I expected. The Poisoner has made some mafia enemies so Belle's father agrees to allow her marriage to Kaiser to gain the protection of Fraternitas. Belle has some secrets though and it turns out her character is deeper than first portrayed. Kaiser has picked Belle as his reward, but he never figures she'll be more than his to own. His past trauma won't allow for anything else. But these two are made for each other and their sparks are hotter than lava. We have a lot of twists and turns as their relationship develops and grows. I fell in love with these two and was crying when they finally reached their HEA.
Kaiser and his twin, Jaeger (His Perfect Prey), have been living on the streets from a very young age until they landed in the illegal fights underneath the city. Kill or be killed. And they got very good at it. So good that they were able to leave the scene and became two of the first members of Fraternitas. Mixed up with the other mafia families, their feuds, violence and murders. Belladonna seems an innocent victim amidst all the male power play, but when her father knows that he cannot keep her safe any longer, he makes a contract with Fraternitas and Kaiser will take her – willingly or not – as his wife. She doesn’t and she will fight with everything she has. An intriguing, crazy and captivating story that kept me enthralled until the end. Ms Savino is a master in portraying characters with their complex emotions and motivations, fears and convictions and their growth to let love into their lives. In a world that is cruel and beautiful. If I could, I would give a 6* rating! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
“You’re trouble.” “I know. Isn’t it great?” My favourite quote from "His Perfect Poison!
What is not to love in a book that encompasses so much in one novel. The wild and completely demented MFC, who is Mad as a hatter, The Poisoner, Belladonna Bosco! She overrides the MMC Kaiser with the plot twisting around her so beautifully. I could not put this book down, even during my recent illness. Bella sucks you in. She is a mix of Harley Quinn with her faithful bat whilst Bella had her favourite poisons....and Poison Ivy as she loved her greenhouse full of poisonous plants. And what she can do with those plants is unbelievable! Due to her childhood and being raised amongst the plants she found she was immune to the poisons from the plants. This makes for a great plot twist.... She makes good use of them to lure her betrothed in. An arranged marriage that she does not want. How do you make a man fall in love with you? With Love Potion number 9 of course! As Kaiser finally begins to feel again, he realises he will do what ever is necessary to keep his bride safe. Whereas Bella decides that she does not really want to let him go after all and after a war is raged and Kaiser is injured, she forms a plan to take his place in the underground fighting ring. The banter throughout the story is brilliant and makes you want Bella to rise from the ashes like a phoenix! How does one small petite woman win a fight against all odds plus the man who has decided to let her go so she can be happy? Well take the time to read this great book and enjoy it just as I did. You will not be disappointed! A well deserved 5 stars from me!
This is the second book in a series and a dark romance - please check triggers before reading. The book is a standalone - there are small references to book 1, but you wouldn't miss much without it.
I absolutely loved the story of Bella and Kaiser. Bella, our FMC, is young, and she's just being allowed by her father to attend Elitas after being homeschooled. She just starts getting acclimated during the summer session, though, when she is blindsided by the news that she's been promised to Kaiser, a member of Fraternitas.
We have plenty of enemies-to-lovers type romance, but really it's more like enemies AND lovers - this pair doesn't really let their guard down entirely around each other, and it makes for such an interesting power exchange. Speaking of power exchange - the BDSM rep here is top tier.
My only two qualms were - 1. The kinda campy vibe that Bella has sometimes took me out of the story - I know she's still young, but it was a bit strange for me 2. I wanted more spice at the end of this story as our MCs come together
But I loved this so, so much - and I can't wait for more from this series!
Kaiser and Bella’s chemistry is way off the Schofield scale, orbiting earth’s atmosphere HOT 🥵 She is a firecracker he can’t help holding after he lights the fuse. She tries to kill him … she doesn’t really want to kill him. Much. Bella is a little crazy. But in a I-want-to-hang-out-and-have-tequila-shots-with-her kinda way. And Kaiser? Well, suffice it to say he is delicious enough to lick—if I lick it it’s mine, right?! Lee Savino sure knows how to hook me in. This is a really good novel.

Utterly freakin’ flawless. Kaiser and Bella were so hilariously perfect for each other. He knew what he wanted from the second he saw her and he wasn’t afraid to go after it. The new insight given into Kaiser’s character was really poignant and made me feel so much sympathy for him. Belladonna Bosco was a straight up firecracker from her very first appearance. I loved the way she used her innocent looks as the perfect disguise for a criminal mastermind. The spice was hotter than hot and I loved the way Kaiser tried to train Bella. I thought it was fantastic that Bella wouldn’t let anything dissuade her from her goals and how fearless she was in pursuing them. It was so funny how every time Kaiser realized Bella did something really disturbing he just rolled with it and was like “this woman is perfect for me”. The lengths these two were willing to go to in order to protect one another were completely incredible. I loved that we saw how fearsome of a character Kaiser was in this and how well matched Bella was to him in that regard. This was such an amazing read and I’m hoping for more stories about the Fraternitas brothers. Definitely have some questions about Father Francis now.
This is a gripping Romance that is totally off the charts crazy. It's like one wild immersive ride from the first to the last page. I enjoyed reading it in a "roadside crash, sort of way" – meaning that it was something that you knew you shouldn't be reading, but you had to keep on doing it and doing it and doing it until the very end.
The book brings you into a whole different world and analyzing it. I was thinking readers should step out of the ordinary world and accept this new world to finally enjoy the book. I read two other books by this author and really love her style. This book was super over the top compared to the other books, but I really enjoyed it.
The 2nd installment in the Fraternitas series is even better than the first and if I could get 6 stars I would do it. Belladonna and Kaiser are fire. They see the real in each other and not the facades that they put on. Bella is so naive and pure with a love of poisonous plants. Kaiser is her protector, her stalker, her.... When he gets what he wants the wild right begins and their move toward their HEA is a fantastic story with all the feels and a level of spice that fits seamlessly with the overall story. I don't know how Lee Savino does it but I'm ready for #3 in the series. Who will be next to get their HEA?
His Perfect Poison by Lee Savino is a dark, addictive mafia romance that delivers exactly what it promises: dangerous chemistry, ruthless stakes, and a hero who is absolutely unhinged about his woman. As the second book in the Fraternitas world, it expands the series’ universe with more family intrigue, blood oaths, and that delicious mix of violence and vulnerability that Savino writes so well. Bella, the poisoner’s daughter, is a fantastic heroine—sharp, wary, and far from naïve—and pairing her with a powerful, obsessive mafioso makes for constant tension and push‑pull. The arranged‑marriage/captive‑bride setup is used effectively: their relationship slides from forced proximity to something much more complex, full of possessiveness, grudging trust, and scorching steam. While it leans fully into dark‑romance territory (with all the moral greyness that implies), the emotional beats still land, and the softer moments between all the danger were some of my favourites. Overall, His Perfect Poison is a gripping, high‑heat read and a strong addition to the series—perfect if you enjoy intense, morally grey mafia romance where the hero will burn the world down for the heroine. A solid 4‑star ARC read, and it definitely has me excited to see what comes next in the Fraternitas universe.
OMG I loved this story too💖. It was so refreshing and raw somehow. I loved the main FL, she is so interesting, smart and witty. Their interaction is always leaving me laughing 😆. They are like mouse and cat, always playing and plotting. Kaiser is something else, totally different than his brother. The book has a lot of spice (🌶🌶🌶🌶) and oh girl I wish be in her place🤩😍😅🤫. Love love💖💓💕 Milena
Secret societies, Raw passion, instant attraction, and a push/pull dynamic that captivates and dominates the action. Not all arranged marriages are perfect, and it takes a tough cookie to survive the crumble that a sharp mafia blade can wield.
Wow what a story Bella is a feisty strong female and keeps her male lead on his toes. It’s a great read and a great follow on from the first in the series
I could not imagine anything being better than the first book in this series but somehow and some way this author pulled it off. Kaiser and Belladonna were mind blowing. Hot, dark, twisted, sweet and cute, they made a couple that was stunning, poignant, heart melting and heartbreaking. Wow, just wow. I cannot wait for book three.
This book is about Kaiser and Bella. Kaiser is Jaeger's twin (His Perfect Prey) and has taken an assignment from Fraternitas to watch over Belladonna Bosco. Her father, known as The Poisoner, has done something to greatly peeve one of 'the families' and Fraternitas is trying to arrange an alliance with him. Bella is attending orientation classes at Unitas University and has no idea she is being 'protected', though she does sometimes feel like someone is watching her. One day she comes home to find masked men in her father's office and is told she is going to marry one of them. She immediately starts planning his death.
Kaiser is unusual. His years in the underground fight ring have made him tough, but he has virtually no feeling in his skin. He doesn't like to be touched... until her. He knows Bella is up to something and he knows better than to accept food or drink from her. But Bella has more secrets than he does and he's about to learn how lethal she really is.
Loved Bella. She is a strange mixture of innocent and treacherous. She wants to believe that Kaiser really wants her, but she knows better than to mistake his protectiveness for true feeling. This chick's plans have plans. She is a ticking time bomb and everyone better head for cover when she goes off. Kaiser starts out wanting her as a possession, but then he finds himself craving her. Is it real? Or is she slowly poisoning him somehow?
Plenty of heat in this one. Oh, and by the time it's done you will be scared to touch plants. Just sayin'. Lol. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
There is just one word for this book that fits it…… Perfect! Hence the title His Perfect Poison!!!!!!
Belladonna is your strong, fierce, villain FMC. Kaiser is your grumpy, possessive, controlling MMC.
A little glimpse into the book. You have homeschooled Belladonna going to college where she is being stalked and protected by Kaiser. He is in a group of brothers called the Fraternitas. His job is to keep tabs on her and make sure nothing happens to her but he starts wanting more than just to watch and keep her safe. He wants to keep her and claim her as his Elita but Bella has no clue Kaiser even exists!
❤️🔥❤️🔥 - Plot. All the plot you need in your dark romance book. Plus some twists and turns to keep you guessing.
❤️🔥❤️🔥 - Characters. Each character grows in their own unique way. I really enjoyed how Bella and Kaiser growth together.
❤️🔥 - Spice. Yes there is spice. And it can be a bit spicy! 🥵
Holy Hecate, this book was amazing! What a wild ride. Belladonna was batsh*t crazy and I'm here for it! Kaiser is a super swoon worthy grouch who finally found the love his heart and soul needed. This book was filled with all the emotions. I laughed, I cried, I even screamed at my kindle a couple of times 😅 10/10 highly recommend!
Well written compelling, compulsive read. Two psychotic personalities brought together by danger, lies, family, want and an arranged marriage. A marriage to keep her safe, but who’s reading keeping who safe. They are danger personified to each other. Great read! Can’t wait for book three.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ah I absolutely loved Belladonna and Kaiser's story! She is poisonous and he doesn't care that she is poisoning him, as long as he can have her.
Their story starts off rocky as Bella doesn't want to be forced into marriage and let's be honest, who does??! But with time, she realizes how much he is willing to do for her, what he is willing to sacrifice for her safety.
Kaiser's story is so sad. We learn more about him and Jaeger's background in this one and it's heartbreaking. But his loyalty and love for his brother is why he did what he had to when he was a child.
If you loved Poison Ivy from the DC universe then you will for sure enjoy this book that was inspired by her!
