An amazing book and one that I will keep in my studio and read often. I am an artist who leans more towards being a perfectionist rather than creative in my day to day struggle to create art. This book was so timely because I often don't value the significance of being both an artist and Christian. My all time favorite book on creativity and art to date and that is saying a lot because I have read many books on the subject; though never at the level of understanding and insight that I found in this particular book. My interest maintained clear to the end, rare to find in non-fiction and especially in regards to spirituality where concepts are often repeated.

I am intensely interested in the intersection of faith and art. There are some great insights here. There are also some conclusions which, to me at least, were unconnected.

An amazing book, as it says, 'Connecting with Heaven to Create with God and Release Transformation'. This is a book that inspires you to step outside your comfort zone and be in tune with God and what he wants you to create in life. I liked the fact that Matt talks about the importance of the balance between being 'filled and skilled'. In other words if God has shown us something we should be doing then we also need to develop the skills to do that so that we are being excellent in what he has given us to do. So often people think Christians will do something if they feel 'called' even if they are not good at it. However Matt puts forward the idea that we can be called to something that we need to work at. Together with God's calling (and filling with the Holy Spirit) and our developing the skills to achieve what God has called us to do, we can bring glory to God through what we create in all areas of our life and work.
