2-3 Stars - I appear to be in the minority in that I did not love this book. The main character, Josephine (Jo) Summers was driving me crazy with her low self-esteem and poor decisions. Every time I thought that she might have learned from her past mistakes, she does something stupid again.

Jo is an actress who falls for another actor, Blake Mackenzie. She does not want to pursue anything because she is convinced that happiness always comes with pain. (I believe that's called life.) S

This book had me crying within minutes of starting to read it! I love romance & drama & this book certainly had that.

At the after wrap party of the film that Blake & Jo co-starred in, Blake misinterprets a situation between Jo & Connor which prompts him to make a huge mistake with a women who is less than forthcoming with information that would have led him to make a very different decision, however his decision that night has serious consequences to his & Jo's fu

I found myself frustrated by the lead female character. Several times I just wanted to slap her and tell her to get herself sorted.
This to me is an ideal read on a flight, or a long distance travell. As it is easily picked up and put down without losing the plot. I would recommend this to lovers of contemporary romance reads (HEA).

Hooked On Books

All Jo Summers wants is to be happy. Or at least that is what the Donna Brittle leads us to believe. I began reading Beautifully Unbroken... and struggled through the first half of the book. I wanted to like Jo, an actress from London, making the transition to New York, attempting to get over her past. I wanted to like Blake... a handsome New York actor who takes Jo's breath away. What I couldn't get past as a writer was within the first at least half of the book, these two people are obsessed w

Jo is an actress from the UK who moves to New York to pursue her acting career and also hide from her past. Her previous relationship led her to believe that happiness didn't exist without pain. She's built up her walls so high and has had them in place for quite some time. They begin to crumble when she meets fellow actor Blake. She's not sure what it is about him that makes her want to let her walls down but she's falling for him and fast.

Dealing with the fallout from a high profile relationship, Jo decides to up sticks and start a new life for herself. Enter Blake Mackenzie, stage left. But when unforeseen events occur, is their relationship over before it even started??

This book is a departure from the usual run of the mill romance books. The characters are likeable (if somewhat frustrating) and the chemistry between Jo and Blake is seriously steamy.

The underlying tension in the storyline slowly ratchets up and the

My Review:

I struggled while reading this book, it was just not my cup of tea. If you enjoy angst, you will be ecstatic as the story was 80% angst and nonstop drama. I sighed…I cringed… and I found myself extremely frustrated by the main female character, Jo. She was constantly crying, and frequently overwrought and uncommunicative. P

This is a wonderful story about taking a chance and opening your heart to love. It might just change your life.

I found the leading lady Jo to be a bit weak and whiny but in her defence, circumstances had changed her and made her so. She goes through a lot.

Blake is a great leading man. Strong, loving and romantic, he shows Jo what true love is. SWOON!
