This is a very cool book. All about using etymology to boost your vocabulary. Also, it's from the 60s. Just so you're prepared.

I'd recommend this a great companion book to Norman Lewis's 'Word Power Made Easy'. This book will definitely strengthen your approach to vocabulary and mastery of words with several exercise questions.
I would not recommend you read this book without touching Norman Lewis first though. The primary difference that I found between Lewis and Maxwell is the approach each one takes while explaining the words and their corresponding etymology. Lewis makes it much more easier and fun to attack the words and master them. This book would have felt like a drag if it wasn't for Lewis.

This is one of those indispensable books for vocabulary building. I read it during my MBA preparation days and thoroughly enjoyed it. I still would like to read it again if I can get my hands on it.
