I wanted to read a Christmas book, and came across this. I realized it was the second book to Rumor Has It so I read that first, and I’m glad I did because I would’ve been lost with the different storylines. I’ve read the book, Selfish by this author and that was really good so when I came across Christmas in the Trenches I figured it’ll be good too, and it was!
Not to give any spoilers, but I’d love to read a spin off book from some of the background characters POV. The teacher lady that became Dean, Brenda, Summer’s mama, and Wynter’s mama would be a good read. I want to know how the school transformed for the better, will Brenda and Summer’s mama be better people, and what if Wynter’s mama run for mayor and transform, The Trenches…
I’ll revisit Kutura B’s catalog, and read more of her books, but for now on to the next Christmas book!
I love how this author took a different approach with this book. Part 1 left several questions, but this installment was everything! I love these young girls and the real life drama they experience! What I will also add is: this is young adult, so keep an open mind!! It has past nostalgic memories that had me choking up at times. Needless say… bravo, KuTura B! You’re well on your way!
I loved it! Such a great ya read and it gave holiday spirit. Thank you girl. Ate and left not a bit of crumbs. Omg. Pregnancy, delulu outta jail, possible move, and early college acceptance. I know their friend group can over come anything. Their beautiful black queens in the making.
I swear my little cousin don’t mind me that’s what I see them as lol be handling these curveballs like no other ! This book is pack with highs and lows but these young ladies no matter what rise to the occasion it is a must read can’t wait to see what’s next guess I need to go shop for this next even lol
Good read. I loved the authenticity and nothing was exaggerated. Even as a Arthur myself it was refreshing to read something as close to normal . I finished this book in just a couple of hrs I was glued..
A great update to my favorite Trench High girlies. The character development was really great! Questions were answered new ones surfaced. I’m locked in and look forward to future novels from the trenches
The lives of four teenagers who take us through their lives during Christmas. These young ladies are still trying to find their lives during the holidays with young love, unplanned pregnancies and dysfunctional families along the way. Flowed well, kept my attention and definitely worth reading.
Them dang on girls . Love them so much everyone stories are so unique and their own journey. I loved we got to know more about them in this book than just the school drama . I hope this is not the end for them .
I have so many questions about the girls . What happened with Summer and her momma? LilJay and Jamal? Did Autumn parents stop drinking? It was a good story
