Sebastian Black.

I received an advanced reader's e-copy in exchange for my honest review.

"Don't let the fear stop you from doing what you love."

I can't be scared every time.
I have to get out there. Try new things.
That's why I have my bucket list.

Did I expect my childhood rockstar crush to help me with said list?

No…

No I did not.

"I'll help you with your list."

Penelope just wants to start experiencing new things. She is so tired of her disability defining her. The one thing that also defines her is her music. So what happens when the rockstar that disappeared comes to her college and offers to help her?
Well… let's just say he will do anything to make sure she stays.

"Her, and her music, were able to stir the inspiration back in me."

This book was so good and adorable!!!
Penelope is honestly a badass and Sebastian is 🥵🥵
I love the rockstar romance trope. It is one of my top faves.
The banter was bantering, the smut was smutting, and the chase was chasing.

As a former music major, I loved the musical aspects of this book.
Every single one. The process of writing the song, the writer's block, the lyrics. Love. Love. Love.

And Penelope and Sebastian's relationship not just with each other but with music was amazing! (I mean the piano am I right…)

"The more I get to know you, the more you amaze me."

P.S. Shoutout to Henry for being one of the top Gs in this book no joke.

Also BTW because I know my audience and because I would never forgive myself if I didn't add this:

"I want you to spread those thighs wide open for me, Birdy."

Tropes:

- Rockstar Romance
- Vision Impaired FMC
- Celebrity Romance
- Secret Past
- He falls first
- Praise
- Interconnected Standalone
- And Piano. Just… Just the piano will live rent free in my head.

This book had all the ingredients that I love, and yet it was executed poorly and was extremely cringey at times.

Unfortunately, I think this author just isn't for me.

I have to start saying that I'm SO sad that this is the end of Blairwood University 😭, BUT at the same time I'm very happy that Anna B. Doe has decided to shut down the series giving us finally Penny's story! and even though I expected her love interest to be Spencer because I need his story too, Sebastian was just perfect for her, his story exceeded my expectations in EVERY way and is in my top 3 of the series !

I fell in love with Penny and her story ever since I first read her in Kiss Me First and loved reading her joining Jade, Grace & Rei's crew, especially the unconditional support she gives the first during her fight against cancer and one of the things I liked the most about Kiss Me Tenderly was that the author gave us so many moments between Jade & Penny: the way Jade is always there to protect her, take care of her and encourage her to live her life! and it is that Penelope is a girl with a visual disability, she was born blind and since then she has had to find a way to adapt to life, something that she has already mastered very well thanks to Henry that's always by her side, and is the most beautiful, tender and protective guide dog. And although Penny's life has not been easy due to the prejudice, discrimination, insensitivity and mistreatment of some people around her, she's a sweet, good, kind girl with a heart of gold who knows how to take care of herself and those she loves, is independent and a very talented pianist! Also, she has a beautiful relationship with Kate & Emmett and I really enjoyed reading them again too.

Sebastian is a little more complicated: a rock star who lost his way and ran off to try and find himself again, and though at first he doesn't seem to have the friendliest personality in the world, not so deep he's a sweet boy, I think the sweetest of Anna so far, tender, flirtatious and who falls in love very quickly with Penny's talent. The plot of this character hides many secrets, and although I'm not the biggest fan of suspense in my romances, I think the author gave the right touch to the story to make it more interesting, impressive, and to help us get to know Sebastian much better as well. And another thing that I didn't expect but LOVED so much was the unexpected connection and friendship that was formed between Sebastian & Prescott, an aspect that I definitely would have liked to read a lot more about.

Penny & Bash have a beautiful love story: Penny has always been a fan of Sebastian's music, it accompanied her in the most difficult moments of her life and was inevitable for her to fall in love with him when he was 13 years old. Now, several years later it's Penny's music that pulls Sebastian out of the dark and he makes it his mission to convince her to play for him, even though her start wasn't the friendliest, and beyond accepting because he offers to help her with her bucket list, Penny accepts out of mere empathy for Sebastian and I loved that. Also, I love that, even though Sebastian doesn't want to reveal his reasons for being in Blairwood, Penelope decides to open her heart to him, trust him and support him, together they are the most adorable couples that the series has and I think the pace at which their relationship is going is perfect for them, I loved that they both showed themselves vulnerable & strong in their own way, and the way Sebastian fell in love with Penny really melted my heart and made him one of my favorite characters.

Y'all, Anna has freaking done it again! I'm usually not a fan of famous MMC vs normal FMC scenarios, they're just not my type, NOT. AT ALL! But I would have literally cried if I had missed the chance of getting an ARC of this incredible book!!! 😭😭😭 I'm beyond amazed by how good it was! I've read books by Anna before and her writing and plotting are TOP NOTCH! 😎❤🔥 But she went and outdid herself ONCE MORE, and made me fall head over heels with Penny and Bash's story! 😭😭😭❤❤❤

Sebastian was distraught and couldn't even dare to dream of being happy again! Like most famous people, his life before joining Blairwood was nothing but shallowness and lack of emotions. He spent his time offstage trying to escape reality, surrounded by meaningless acquaintances and different kinds of p!lls. That was unhappiness at its finest 💔 and the most heartbreaking thing was that he didn't even seem to realize how empty his life and how miserable he was 😭 the hardest thing you can experience is not being able to figure out how much you loathe your life, or how even when you do, nobody seems to care, want to listen or extend a helping hand 💔

I related to Penelope's experiences regarding her disability to a point where it felt unreal 💔 even though our disabilities are nothing alike, the bullying, the feeling of being different, the wish to be seen for who you are rather than your health condition were exactly the same. My heart broke more than once to some of the comments she received from fellow students, or people on the internet who hadn't even met her! I don't think these people realise how much their careless pranks, and rude words can impact the mental health of a person suffering from whatever kind of disability 💔 those painful comments might stay ingrained in a person's memory until their last breath. So please, be mindful of your words!

I always thought falling for a star would be a hassle I honestly wouldn't choose for myself, but you can never choose who you fall for, and Penny and Bash made it work against all odds! ❤

I never thought I’d bump into my teenage crush on campus, but when it happens, any childish illusions I had about him are erased with a few harsh words. I don’t expect to run into him again, but I’m wrong.

He’s at Blairwood to stay, and not just that, he wants me.

Sebastian claims he lost his muse, and I’m the only one who can bring it back, but I want nothing to do with the arrogant man.

That is until he proposes me a deal.

He’ll help me with my bucket list if I play my piano for him. The request is outrageous, but the more I think about it, the harder it is to find reasons to say no.

As we spend time together, I get to know the man hiding beneath the jaded exterior, and suddenly my crush doesn’t seem so childish after all. But there is no way that the world-famous rockstar will fall for a small-town girl like me…

“Don't you know by now, Birdy? There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you.”

4.5 stars 🌟

I'd been waiting for Penelope's book since the moment we met her in Emmett and Katherine's book, and I wasn't disappointed! I really liked her in the previous books in the series, but even more so in this one. The development of Penelope and Sebastian's relationship was so well written, and I completely fell in love with these two. Kiss Me Tenderly is not your typical rockstar romance! I really enjoyed this book, and it's one of my favorites in the series!

It was great to finally learn more about Penelope! She's independent, sassy, and confident, but throughout the story and her meeting with Sebastian, she blossoms and becomes even more confident as she discovers his crazy world. Her bond with Henry, her guide dog, is also touching, and it was interesting to learn more about it.

As for Sebastian, I fell in love with him immediately. He was a bit rude to Penelope when they first met, but as soon as he heard her sing and play the piano, he was a goner for her. As their relationship developed, Sebastian learned all about Penelope and her routine, how to behave with Henry, and even how to read and write in Braille.

The development of their relationship is perfectly written, and I devoured every word of the book. At first, they always bumped into each other, as if they couldn't escape each other. But Penelope didn't let him walk all over her and made him work for what he wanted, even though he was madly in love with her and obsessed with her. He would have done anything for her, and everyone around him could see it. Seeing them come together through their love of music was really cool, and the fact that they sang MAATHP together at the karaoke made me so happy!!! These two are perfect for each other, and I loved the way they always had each other's back. Nothing could keep them apart, and there was no third-act breakup, which made me enjoy their story even more.

What I also loved about Kiss Me Tenderly was seeing Penelope and Sebastian connect with their respective friends, and how supportive they were of their relationship.

The epilogue and extended epilogue were the cutest things ever, and overall, I loved Penelope and Sebastian's story. I can't wait to see what's coming next from Anna B. Doe because I know I'm going to love it just like I loved the Blairwood University series!

I was so fortunate to receive this as an ARC from the author!

The first thing that drew me in for this book was hearing that the FMC was blind and had a guide dog. I have a personal connection to the guide dog industry as I raised future guide dogs in college and am now employed within the industry, and I am also an advocate for public access rights for service dogs. It was really exciting to see that the author did research in order to accurately portray what it can be like to live with a guide dog. I loved seeing “intelligent disobedience” correctly explained and implemented within the story, as well as the challenges that guide dog users may face in everyday life. Even the little details about how guide dogs are raised/socialized, their working life span, and commands were spot on!

This was a fun, fast-paced book that I finished in less than a day! Penny and Sebastian strike up a mutually beneficial arrangement where she helps inspire him to write/play music again and he helps her complete her bucket list of things she wants to complete this school year. Through their relationship, they also help each other face and overcome past insecurities and trauma and come out stronger on the other side.

Tropes:
•mmc is a rockstar
•fmc is a guide dog user
•slow burn
•college romance
•traumatic past/suspense
•neighbors

Thank you so much to Anna B. Doe for this wonderful ARC!

When the author contacted me to send me a digital copy of her book, I had my doubts because it was book 8 of a series that I didn't know, of course she said that it was completely standalone and had no third act breakup and for me that was already a win. When I started it, I was skeptical because of the number of pages, but my God, what a surprise it brought me, this story made me fall in love, captivated me, and most of all, it filled me with joy.

Sebastian and Penny are two characters that will stay with me forever. Sebastian, our rock star with a tragic past, meets our Penny, a girl with visual disabilities but super independent and brave, they know each other and although she has a crush on him (he's her favorite singer) she doesn't care and makes him beg because for some reason Sebastian considers her his muse, and that's where it all begins, how they became friends, how music was an essential part of both of them and their story, also here I'm not lying when I say that Henry is the protagonist of this whole story.

The theme of mystery that Sebastian brought up keeps you reading because despite a lot they don't give you so many clues and I liked that. The ending? I liked it, but I wanted more of these two in the future, but otherwise it was a good story that I'm glad I read.

Thanks to the author for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review 📚!!

________________

JUST WHEN I THINK THAT THE NEW ONES COULD NOT BE BETTER THAN THE PREVIOUS ONES, YOU PROVE ME WRONG!!!! YOU JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER AND GIVE US THE BEST OUT OF THE BEST 😭😭
HOW CAN ONE NOT FALL FOR EVERY BOOK YOU EVER WRITE!!??

Penny Penny... Penelope!!!! I never ever ever imagined Penny to be the fierce character she is. I always thought that she would be the timid one but no!! She is even fiercer than Jade and that's alot.
I know there would be many who waited for Penny's story and I am 100% sure that they are not going to regret reading this book! this book is worthy of every second spent.

Sebastian aka Bash was just as fierce as Penelope, daring, loving, caring and most of all hot af!!!

Henry is the real MVP, I love him. His ignorance of Bash was amazing to read.

Bash and Penelope's story evolves from annoyance to bantering to acceptance to something so fierce that nothing could stop them from being together.

Penny became a muse to Bash and Bash helps Penny out with her bucket list. And being neighbours helped them to get even closer. Bash was relentless, he made sure he got what he wanted, little did he expect to get more than what he was looking for. As soon as he met Penny, his possessive instinct pushed him to feel what he had never felt before.
Penny my fierce baby, stood up for herself and the ones she loved. She stood up for Bash something no one has ever done for him and that is enough for him to know that this is it, she is the one for him. Not that he did not know before, but this just made it clearer.
There are so many annotations of things Bash tells Penelope, which makes her feel seen. so many things he does to make her feel that he is now a part of her life. It was amazing how Sebastian went all the way in to ensure she was comfortable, seen and loved.

Sebastian is the best book boyfriend from this series so far (sorry Emmett, but you're still my top 2nd boyfriend)

The suspense was a great twist that was never expected, Anna does an amazing job in it as witnessed in Kiss To Remember.

Also not to forget the smexy scenes were so smexy!!!! The PIANO scene will forever live rent free in my head. xD

P.S. I see now that I used the word "fierce" a lot of times but I seriously could not find a better word to describe this book!

P.S.S: It is a bittersweet feeling now that this series has come to an end. I am gonna miss this gang so freaking much, but also know that they will forever remain in my heart!!

I was lucky to receive an ARC of this book. I had no idea it was part of a series, but luckily I didn’t need to read the first set of books to understand the characters and storyline.

Penny is a music major who has a great group of girlfriends and is living her life like a normal college girl. Except for the fact that she is blind.

Sebastian is the bad boy rockstar who has a tainted past that is coming back to haunt him.

When Penny goes to Sebastian’s concert, only have to it cancelled right before he is supposed to take the stage, her heart is broken. She’s his biggest fan and has been waiting for this moment when she can finally see him live. After his cancelled tour, he disappears.

Until one day Penny bumps into Sebastian while walking on campus and he blames her carelessness. Needless to say the two become enemies. Until Penny is practicing in the music room and Sebastian, a new student, walks by and is captured by her. The two quickly strike up a deal after Sebastian finds Penny’s bucket list and he is eager to help her and in return, she’ll help him get his inspiration back for writing music.

Penny and Sebastian are now officially imprinted on my heart. I absolutely loved this story and the disability rep in this book. The way Anna B. Doe wrote Penny’s character was incredible. I loved her Penny’s optimism and outlook on life, even with her trauma from her youth. I loved how Henry was incorporated into the book. And most of all I loved how Sebastian took his time with Penny to learn about her, how to be around her and how he never pitied or treated her differently.

I gave this book 4 stars because I felt like it was a little long, but overall I really enjoyed this book.

Kiss Me Tenderly by Anna B. Doe is the eighth book in the Blairwood University Series. This is Penelope and Sebastian‘s story.

Ever since I’ve read Kiss Me First, I was so curious about Penelope and I’m so glad that she got her own story. She is such an inspiring person who gives you a different perspective as she is blind since birth. The disability representation in this book was amazing and I liked how Penelope is so much more than her disability. I also loved seeing her relationship to her service dog Henry and how they worked together. Penelope is one of my new favorite characters.

Sebastian is a famous rockstar, but he is burned out from his career and therefore goes to Blairwood University in hopes of finding new inspiration. He is dealing with a lot of trauma and sees himself as broken. I loved the depth his character had and how he found happiness in this book.

The Blairwood University Series is one of my favorite college romance series and therefore it’s a bit bittersweet that it’s now coming to an end. And this final book is one of the most special stories I’ve ever read. Penelope and Sebastian don’t like each other in the beginning, but they both share a passion for music. That was so special, and I loved how their relationship slowly progressed. Penelope also has a bucket list and Sebastian helps her with it and that was just wholesome. These two just complement each other and I loved every second of their story.

Overall, Kiss Me Tenderly is a truly special and unique romance and I more than highly recommend this book. 5+ stars.

I was kindly given an ARC for Kiss Me Tenderly in exchange for my honest opinion so here it goes. Without spoiling you guys.

Penelope; our badass MFC wants to experience life, learn new things and mostly discover who she is. So she makes a bucket list, and who better to help her out then her new next door neighbour Sebastien, her teenage rockstar crush.

Sebastien; he never thought he could be happy, he had no inspiration for writing his music until he steps out of the spotlight, tries to live a “normal” life. So he goes to college and he meets Penelope.

Their relationship is beautiful, she pulled him out of the darkness, and his music helped her throughout all the rough times in her life. TALK ABOUT MENT TO BE.

I don’t want to spoil anything so you will just have to read it for yourselves but it’s worth it, so do it. And let me just say, the mouth on this man. 🥵

THE BAD BOY OF ROCK.
AND, AS OF NOW, HER NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOUR.

ARC REVIEW!

Kiss me Tenderly by Anna B Doe.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️

“It was supposed to be just her music. But the more I get to know her, the more I want her. Her smiles. Her laughter. Her scent. Her. I want her.”

This is the latest book in the Blairwood College Romance series and it did not disappoint.
I feel like I’ve been waiting for Pennys story for so long but the wait was definitely worth it. Penny and Bash are so sweet together. The two compliment each other in the best ways.
Sebastian is the best. Always looking out for her while also knowing when to stand aside. Penny is incredible and so supportive. I loved their connection to music. Not to mention the piano scene 🥵
No third act breakup which makes this book that much better. 😜

Book: Kiss Me Tenderly
Genre: Romance

Ahh these two were so cute! I hadn’t read anything from this series or author before but now I’m definitely going to have to go back and reread the rest!
This followed is our FMC (Penelope) who is a music major at Blairwood University and also is blind. Her side kick is her guide dog Henry (who I absolutely adored) and our MMC (Sebastian) who is a rock star, he is also the child of a rockstar (father) and a kick ass agent (mother) Sebastian had been living his life partying, singing, and spending lots of time with girls. But one tragic night changed everything and he straightened up. Months after the incident he decides to take course at Blairwood University.

Two of my favorite lines from this book🥰⬇️
“Your music makes me feel. You make me feel. And I haven’t felt anything in so long that I forgot what it’s like.”

“No, I don’t want that, but I want you. And if having you means dealing with all the circus outside, then so be it. You mean more to me than anything those people outside could ever throw at me.”

-Rockstar MMC🎸
-Blind FMC with a guide dog🦮
-Virgin Heroine❤️
-Bucket List📝
-Good Girl x Bad Boy🏍️

Dates read: 07/27/23-07/31/23

Kiss Me Tenderly is the 8th book in the Blairwood University series by Anna B. Doe, featuring a riveting rockstar romance. Penny is a blind music major looking to branch out and try new things, when an accidental collision into a solid chest changes everything. Imagine running face-first into your celebrity crush and he turns out to be a jerk! But, he’s on campus to stay, and music causes their paths to continue to cross. This time, her music has drawn him in. He’s in a slump, having lost his muse, and thinks she is the missing key. If she plays for him, he’ll help her complete her bucket list. But as they spend time together, they both feel seen for the first time. Can the famous rockstar and the small town girl actually fall in love?

I was offered an ARC of this book by the author, despite never having read her work before, and I am so glad I gave this book a chance! I feel like I’m a little late to the party as far as the series goes, but the way the book was written, I didn’t feel disadvantaged at all. The world building was great though, especially with the found family vibe of Penny’s friend group! As someone born with a disability myself, I love reading books with strong representation, and Penny was an inspirational and authentic character. She owned her scars and past struggles but found a way to push forward. Believe me, I know how cruel people can be, but you can’t let them win. I also loved Sebastian’s journey, as he was obviously running from something. Watching the slow burn of the chemistry build between them was both fun and frustrating! So much angst! But when they finally cross that line, Sebastian was hot!🥵 The suspense subplot was interesting, and it brought some action and surprises. I have to say that Henry was the best written dog I’ve ever read! He was 100% there for Penny, and didn’t give Sebastian an inch of slack. Whether you’ve read any of these books or not, check this one out!

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

✨ college rockstar romance
✨ blind heroine & a sassy guide dog
✨ bad boy/ good girl
✨ virgin heroine
✨ no third act break up

✨Releases tomorrow 8/4 ✨

Penelope has always had a crush on Sebastian Black. His music speaks to her. So when he shows up on her college campus and it’s rude then asks her to play his music while offering to help her with her bucket list she’s hesitant. But Sebastian is persistent and he doesn’t want to lose the muse he so desperately needs. With a sassy seeing eye dog and a bit of mystery Penelope and Sebastian fall deeper and deeper for each other but can Penelope last in his world?

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and as my first book by this author I’m completely blown away and an immediate fan. This book was beautiful. It was written so well I could not see myself ever wanting to leave this story. The progression of their romance gave me tension, longing and then getting to experience them together was some of my favorite parts.

Penelope is such a strong female main character who has learned to live with her differences to the fullest. I love how strong she is and how her being blind doesn’t stop her from what she wants. She faces the world head on. She give’s Sebastian unconditional love and support something he’s never had before and he gives her new life and experiences. He doesn’t love her despite her disability, he just loves her. He sticks up for her and will do anything to make sure she is safe and cared for even though he knows she can do it herself.

And we can’t forget Henry or any of our side characters. While this is an interconnected standalone this is my first in the series but I enjoyed that I didn’t feel lost when all these characters were introduced. She gave us enough back story to where I could piece it all together and really enjoyed all their interactions.

It was spicy, sweet. Swoony and beautiful watching these two characters make each other whole. A dirty talking tattooed rockstar and his good girl blonde who keeps him on his toes.

As a fervent fan of the Blairwood University series, I must say that KISS ME TENDERLY was the book I had been eagerly anticipating, and it certainly did not disappoint. Penelope, a beloved character throughout the series, took the center stage in her own story, and it was everything I had hoped for and more!!!!

From the very beginning, I found myself captivated by Penelope's character. Kind, caring, and patient, she embodied all the qualities we admire in a strong female lead. Seeing her evolve and grow throughout the series was heartwarming, and in this installment, she truly shone as a relatable protagonist. Sebastian, the enigmatic and hot rockstar, made for an irresistible love interest. From the moment he appeared, I was totally spellbound by his presence and the chemistry he shared with Penelope. The balance in their relationship was beautifully portrayed, and what made it even more compelling was how Penelope's blindness affected the way he perceived the world around him. It added depth and authenticity to their connection, making their love story all the more profound.

The romance between Penelope and Sebastian was nothing short of spicy and fun. The sparks that flew between them ignited the pages, leaving me with butterflies in my stomach. Yet, beyond the passion, what resonated with me was witnessing the two characters find safety and a sense of home within each other's embrace. Their journey was tender and heartwarming, making me root for their happiness all the way through.

The writing style was engaging, drawing me in from the first page and keeping me enthralled until the very end. The author beautifully crafted a story that explored the complexities of love, acceptance, and the power of seeing beyond the surface.

KISS ME TENDERLY is a novel that effortlessly combines romance, passion, and depth, making it a standout in the series. If you are a fan of compelling characters, sizzling chemistry, and a love story that warms your soul, this book is an absolute must-read. I cannot recommend it enough.

I had been craving a rockstar romance and Kiss Me Tenderly came along just when I needed it!

First, let’s talk about Penelope. From the glimpses we got of her in previous books in the series I already knew I’d love her. What I didn’t expect was for her to become one of my favorite FMC of all time. I’m downright smitten with Penny (just like Sebastian) She was so fierce, loyal, and strong. Getting to see her past broke my heart a bit, but it also made me so proud of her, to see her now and how she tried to get herself even more out of her comfort zone with her bucket list. And her relationship with her guide dog, Henry, was the best. I could feel the connection and love between the pair.

Now, onto Sebastian. I’d just be honest, I can never resist a bad boy rockstar so my adoration of Sebastian shouldn’t be surprising. He deals with so much during this book. On top of those things, he also lost his muse to create music. But when he heard Penny play he knew she was the key to getting it back, but what he didn’t know was how hard he’d fall for her. I loved how our broody rockstar turned so playful and teasing when he was with Penny. And I loved his encouragement of her. And of course the two had undeniable chemistry both musically and as a couple. I was a goner anytime the there was a piano scene between them.

While I’m sad the Blairwood University series is over, I think Penelope and Sebastian were the perfect couple to end the series with. And they are for sure my favorites of the series.

This book deals with some dark topics so be sure to check TWs.

Words cannot even describe just how AMAZING this book is! Kiss Me Tenderly is a spectacular and enjoyable read that had me swooning, laughing, and fanning myself all while also pulling at my heart strings. A compelling read, this author slays me with her incomparable storytelling and fascinating & relatable characters. She reliably crafts a unique and thought-provoking story that explores interesting topics that one doesn’t often see in romance novels.

I absolutely adored Penny and loved Sebastian “Bash”! Penny is a fierce and determined FMC. She pushes herself to meet challenges head on and I love how independent she is. Her bucket list is marvelous and I enjoyed how her and Bash set out to check off each item and adventure on that list.

As for Bash, this man stole my heart! Being chased by his own demons, this rockstar’s backstory is heart breaking and oftentimes I wanted to reach into the book and give him a big hug. He has his flaws and that is what makes him seem so real. Even though his first few encounters with Penny are a bit rocky (I do love a good “meet cute”), these two are the perfect match! The emotional and physical chemistry between them was palpable. Of course, there are obstacles that they both need to overcome individually and as a couple. There is an aura of suspense that comes into play and I do love the twists that the author incorporated into the story.

The blurb captivated my attention and I was completely ensnared by the first chapter. KMT is a long book, but it moved at a great pace and I was so immersed within the story that I never wanted it to end! I have been following the Blairwood series over the past few years and I can honestly say that each novel is a favorite of mine. It is such a joy to be reunited with the characters from the previous books as I have become rather attached to them. I love how they all interact together, the witty banter, their supportiveness, and just their camaraderie all around. Kiss Me Tenderly can be read as a standalone novel, but I would recommend reading the previous 2 books in the series for the ultimate experience. Actually, read them all because they are that amazing!

Kiss Me Tenderly by Anna B.Doe

Tropes: Virgin-Vision Impaired Heroine/ Bad Boy Famous Rockstar Hero/ Opposites Attracts/ Slow Burn/ Suspense/ He Falls First/ No 3rd Act Breakup

"Kiss Me Tenderly" is the eighth book in the "Blairwood University" series, and it's the first book I read by this author, which they loved completely. The author captured the personalities and struggles of the characters beautifully, making me empathize with them and root for them as they overcome challenges.

Penelope, also known as Birdy, is the blind female main character, and she has a service dog that I found to be the loveliest ever written. Despite her blindness, Penelope is portrayed as a strong and independent character, not allowing her disability to define her. She has had a crush on the bad boy rockstar since she was a teenager, never expecting that their paths would cross in such a life-changing way.

Sebastian Black is a famous rockstar trying to escape from the pressures and mistakes of his past. He enrolls in college to deal with his problems and finds himself drawn to Penelope, even though their first meetings were less than ideal. He needs to beat the ghosts from his past, but he quickly realizes that he won’t be able to do it alone, he will need help from his muse.

Penelope and Sebastian's story made the reader swoon from their first encounter. Their relationship evolves at the right pace, with a palpable tension between them. Penelope's strength and independence shine through, and Sebastian is portrayed as a sweetheart who cares deeply for her without smothering her. The book is a slow burn with a perfect plot and supportive secondary characters. The author also highlighted the importance of Henry, Penelope's service dog, and I appreciated learning more about the experiences of a vision-impaired person.

Overall, I highly recommend "Kiss Me Tenderly" and give it a 5-star rating.

This book was so good and like nothing I’ve read before! I was lucky to be sent an ARC of this book and I loved every second of it.

Penny and Sebastian were adorable, Penny was a music major in college whos just trying to live her life as normally as possible, despite the fact that she's blind. Sebastian is the bad boy rockstar whos hiding away in her small college town trying to get away from his crazy life, he also happens to be the star Penny’s had a crush on her entire life - these two don’t exactly get off on the right foot but with time they just couldn’t stay away from each other.

I really enjoyed watching their relationship blossom into something so special, how Bash started to care for Penny so much, he was insanely protective of her in all the best ways. He quickly became her biggest supporter and would do pretty much anything to make her happy.

We also can’t forget about Henry! Henry was Penny’s guide dog and was honestly one of the best parts of this story! The bond between him and Penny was beautiful to read.

The storyline was intriguing and suspenseful, it kept me constantly wanting more and it did not disappoint one bit!

It's safe to say I’m utterly in love with Penny, Bash, and of course Henry - Thank you so much Anna letting me be part of your ARC team for this incredible read.

✨I’m transfixed. By her. By the music she plays. By the way her body moves to the melody like they’re one. One heart. One mind. One soul.✨

This was my first book by Anna and I liked it a lot! It is the last of an interconnected series, and not having read the other books, she did a great job giving us a quick back story of the other characters. We have Penelope is is our blind FMC and our bad boy rockstar who is hiding away from some trauma that happened to him. This was the first time I read about a visually impaired character, and it was done really well! I thought Penelope and Bash were adorable. I liked the suspense vibes that came with this story! Thank you for the ARC, Anna!

Things we liked/tropes:

Kiss me tenderly is just that, such a tender romance!

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Doe’s writing is pure magic.

Penny is an absolute gem of a character. I love that her being blind wasn’t her entire personality, just part of who she is! The focus was much more on who she is as a person and her life, as opposed to being blind. It’s very clear that Doe did a lot of research in preparation for Penny’s character, and it was evident by the way Penny was written. Subtle changes, such as an emphasis on sound, is something you don’t realize you’re missing with characters who can see. Looking back, we never get a description of Sebastian during Penny’s POV, but we’re given various scent profiles, which is genius (and not to mention authentic to the lived experiences of blind people). She is such a strong character and I loved that she is unashamed of who she is.

Sebastian is truly the perfect person for Penny. His character growth was incredible and I loved how he started out ignorant to Penny’s disability, and ended the book defending her rights under the ADA. He championed her so hard and I loved that he never once tried to be a crutch for her. He also made space for Henry, which was great since Penny admits to Henry being such an intrinsic part of herself.

As a whole, this book was so enjoyable. It was so nice to be back at Blairwood and reading Penny’s book felt like I was catching up with old friends.

4.5 Stars 🌟

This book is not just a romance but also an education. Penelope is such a fascinating character I was totally charmed by her and her abilities.
Sebastian is so much more than his rockstar persona and together they form quite the most lovely couple.

It’s clear that Ms doe has really done her research for this story as we follow blind character Penny and everything her life involves, along with support from her best friend Henry.
There is so much to take away from this book…not least the very strong lesson in humility. A reminder to be kind and consider others.

This is a lengthy story however, and I did find it quite slow in places. However the story really picks up towards the end with action and drama. Fast paced and intriguing with the mystery surrounding Sebastian’s need for privacy.
A really enjoyable read!

This book was cute! This book follows rockstar Sebastion Black who has recently taken a large break from singing after struggling and now is in hidingish. After bumping into blind girl Penelople and hearing her play the piano and sing he found his muse. This book was a little long for me and felt a little repetitive. The ending was kind of expected but I felt that there wasn't as much character development as I would like. This book was okay!

Favorite Quote:

Special thanks to the author for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

it’s 2:18 in the morning and i just finshed this book and what an absolute masterpiece this is one of those books that makes you feel like your a teenager again, i really very much hate it when the characters sing or anything in that area but watching Bash and Pen together and the way he didn’t treat her less than knowing she was blind was so beautiful.

He fell hard ladies and gentlemen and he was completely obsessed with her from the get go.
