The 3-Minute Prayer Jar Devotional: Daily Inspiration for Women Wanda E. Brunstetter, Janice Thompson, Donna K. Maltese If it has Wanda E. Brunstetter’s name on it I know it is going to be good. The first thing I noticed was that this book is created as a gift. There is a place to record who is To, From, and a Date. The devotions were written or women. It only takes one minute to read the Bible verse, one minute to read the devotional and think about it, and 1 minute to go to the Lord in Prayer. A prayer jar reminds us to turn to our Lord and Savior in prayer. The idea is to place pieces of paper in the Prayer Jar with verses of scripture, prayer requests, or notes of thanks to God. A prayer jar can be decorated or not. You can use pieces of paper to record scripture, thanks to God or prayer requests on small strips of paper. After reflecting on them, fold them or roll them up and place
them in the jar. Occasionally you may want to remove one of the papers and think about it; if it has been answered, you may want to thank the Lord and write down the date. If it has not been answered, return it to the jar. The devotional pages have a title, scripture, a devotion, a short prayer and a prayer jar inspirational suggestion. This book will make a perfect gift for someone or for yourself. I received a digital copy of this book for review purposes. My reviews are my unbiased opinions.
Just from the first verse in the devotional I was completely blown away. God really does work in mysterious ways. I got this believing it would be a lovely read to put a smile on my face but little did I know how much it would impact the heart too. I had been having very poor sleep just a few years ago. Night terrors and the like. I prayed and pleaded with the LORD to take those horrible nights away. Years later I open the first day in this devotional and what is the first Scripture speaking about? About how God takes away fear and gives sweet sleep at night. Immediately my mind went back to those years when my sleep was a big prayer item and I just immediately put down my phone and rejoiced and gave thanks to the LORD. It dawned on me just how far the LORD had come for me since those days. Just how seen and loved we are by our Heavenly Father. That is the power of a good devotional. Not only does it spur you into prayer but it also shows you how loved you are by the One who holds it all.
Other things I loved were;
The prompts are easy to follow. The author’s snippets following the verse for that day’s reading are lovely as they speak to every day life applications for the Word of God. The design is beautiful and soothing. Not too busy but just minimal and lovely. You can’t help but want to keep reading.
I got an advanced reader’s copy via NetGalley and the thoughts expressed are my genuine feelings on the book. Highly recommend it.
This little pink book is a collection of one page devotionals. The format is first a Bible verse, then a n application o life, followed by a short prayer and a daily inspiration. The entries are like potato chips, you can’t just “eat” one. I found myself reading 1, 2, 3, 7, because they are uplifting yet challenging, These devotions are written specifically for women. The three minutes in the title refer to… one minute to read the Bible verse, one minute to read the devotional and think about it, and 1 minute to go to the Lord in Prayer.
The words prayer jar in the title refers to the idea of placing pieces of paper in Prayer Jar you create. You then insert verses of scripture, prayer requests, or notes of thanks to God. Your prayer jar can be decorated or simply a jelly jar, free of the stickiness of course. You can use pieces of paper to record scripture, thanks to God or prayer requests on small strips of paper. After reflecting on them, fold them or roll them up and place them in your jar. Occasionally you may want to remove one of the papers and think if it has been answered, so you mean thank the Lord and write down the date. If it has not been answered, return it to the jar.
This book makes a perfect gift as it is a lovely edition and has a dedication page in the front.
Wanda E. Brunstetter’s The 3-Minute Prayer Jar Devotional: Daily Inspiration for Women, has been released just in time for your Christmas gift giving, or hostess gift. Let me start at the very beginning – the devotional itself. I am a touchy-feely type of person, and I love the way this book feels in my hands – not too big, not too small. Its soft covers feel comforting to me. It opens easily, and stays opened. There is a ribbon bookmark attached to keep your place. From the very start, this book just felt ‘good’. The devotional is divided into days numerically (rather than with a date), with one devotional for each day of the year. True to its title, it is easy to read and comprehend, and should only take you 3 minutes. There is a special prayer jar suggestion at the end of each day, with instructions in the front of the book to make your own prayer jar, if that is your wish. The back of the book contains a scripture index for further study and explanation. This book can be used year after year, as a resource to help you build your spiritual life. It would be a very thoughtful gift to give to your loved ones or friends, or a great gift to buy for yourself!
This isn't the first Prayer Jar Devotional, but it is the first to offer a full year of devotions in one volume. Authors Wanda E. Brunstetter, Janice Thompson, and Donna K. Maltese share devotions meant to be enjoyed in three minutes. THREE MINUTES, but the benefits CANNOT be measured! Each daily offering requires one minute to read the suggested Bible scripture, one minute to read the devotional, and one minute for prayer. Three minutes that will bless the lives of women longing to revitalize their spirits by spending more time with God!
Brunstetter's popular Prayer Jars fiction series inspired this devotional, and instructions to create your own prayer jar are included. I guarantee that your prayer jar will fill up quickly once you read the wide range of topics, including healing, hope, and forgiveness.
This wonderful resource is packaged with a pink cover, pink bookmark, and even pink illustrations, but the true beauty comes in the inspiration it provides. It is perfect for both personal use and gift giving!
I received a complimentary copy from the author and Barbour Publishing. There was no obligation for a positive review.
The 3-Minute Prayer Jar Devotional: Daily Inspiration for Women by authors Wanda E. Brunstetter, Janice Thompson, Donna K. Maltese is a contemporary devotional book. The cover is lovely and feels nice when holding. The daily reading takes only about three minutes which is nice for busy days.
The devotional is set up with prompts to guide readers. The author writes a little following the verse for that day’s reading. It helps readers to understand how to apply the scripture’s lesson to everyday life. I found the daily devotionals to be refreshing and thought provoking. Each day has a theme.
The purpose of a Prayer Jar is to fill it with verses of scripture, prayer requests, or notes of thanksgiving to God that you have written on small strips of paper. The jar can be plain or decorated. In fact, it doesn’t even need to be a jar. You might want to use a small basket instead.
This is a wonderful devotional for any woman, young or old. It will make a great gift for others and yourself. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I lasted only two pages into this book. The premise of a devotional focused on a prayer jar was nice. The author explains the significance of the prayer jar and how to make one if a reader wishes. The one-page (assumed) devotional is divided into three minutes, as explained in the preface/introduction: Minute 1: Read the day's Bible verse (different English versions are noted after the Scripture reference) and reflect on its meaning (I assume it is only one verse each day without its immediate context); Minute 2: Read the devotional and reflect on its application for your life. Minute 3: Pray, and there is a sample prayer and a prayer jar inspiration statement for each. I saw she swaps Jesus and God in the sample prayers, and the second day's entry talked about forgiving God for the death of a loved one. That's where I stopped reading, because I do not believe God causes the deaths of individuals. I couldn't move away from not agreeing with the author's views to continue.
This devotional is an invitation to dive deeper into prayer, by starting a prayer jar. A glass jar that you fill over time with pieces of prayer.
Every day you read a Bible text, a small piece of text on a subject that matches with scripture. And you get a suggestion to write a prayer on paper and put in your own prayer jar.
Although the texts in this devotional are numbered like days, I like the fact that you can choose any day to read. Just as it suits you best.
At the end of the book there’s an index with scripture verses, that guides you through all kind of subjects to pray about.
I really like the concept of a prayer jar. A physical object that helps you in your prayer practice.
Altogether I found this a hopeful and encouraging devotional.
And also if you are curious about the prayer jar concept and want to read more about it: there’s a fiction book series around this prayer jar concept, and a few more themed devotionals.
Thanks a lot to NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you to NetGalley, Barbour books for the ARC copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. The thoughts and opinions are all my own.
The 3-Minute Prayer Jar Devotional is a true gem, offering forgiveness, hope, and healing. The authors have done an excellent job in compiling this devotional.
Without dates, you can read at your own pace and never fall behind. However, once you begin, you'll likely read more than one day's entry, as I did.
Each day starts with a bright pink title, followed by an inspirational message, a prayer, and a PRAYER JAR INSPIRATION to help you create your own prayer jar. (Instructions are in the introduction.) Each day's reading can be completed in three minutes.

It even encourages you to do a prayer jar which can be left plain or you can decorate it. You can write scriptures, prayer request or thanks to God on pieces of paper and add them to the jar. Great to go back after 6 months or a year and re-read them to see how God worked in your life about that particular situation. I highly recommend this book.

This devotional is beautiful and what I plan to use for my 2026 daily devotional! The binding is flexible but sturdy and beautiful. Designed to be completed easy day in about 3 minutes, each day’s devotion has a Bible verse and a short devotional the reader can contemplate as to how it applies to her life. Each day’s devotion also includes prayer inspiration, which is the perfect starting point for a prayer as I start the day. Although the use of a prayer jar isn’t necessary for using the devotional, it would pair with one perfectly. I highly recommend this devotional for any Christian woman, and would make a delightful gift, too!
The 3-Minute Prayer Jar Devotional by Wanda Brunstetter is a beautiful soft cover devotional that is filled with 365 days, worth of inspiration reading, studying and prayers for each day.
I love the scripture index in the back of the book listing the books of the Bible, so you can easily reference back to the scriptures you have read.
I would recommend this devotional to all, this would also make a lovely gift.
Wanda Brunstetter, Janice Thompson, and Donna Maltese give us a three minute devotional. Time to spend with God and reflect of His word. The title may say 3 minutes but I find myself spending even more time researching and reading the word of God. I love devotionals and will defintely find myself returning to this book in the future. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.
I have enjoyed reading and reflecting on the 3-Minute Prayer Jar Devotional each day. It is such a great idea! Thank you for not overwhelming the reader with a much longer daily Devotional. As we get older, this is the perfect length for a daily Devotional. Thank you for coming up with this wonderful idea!
I love Wanda’s Prayer Jar Devotionals. They are inspirational and share different Bible verses. Her latest 3 minute devotional gives you a verse and then a devotional to read and then you can pray about it. These books are great gifts.
I thoroughly like this book. It is a great devotional. It covers topics like forgiveness, healing and hope. It encourages you to make your own prayer jar. It is good for your own or as a gift. I was given a copy from the author and publisher and was not obligated to write this review. I
Just what I needed in my life right now. Well put together. The Bible verse at the beginning of each page is awesome but for me I prefer the King James Version instead of the different Bibles. This is my opinion. Thank you for all the amazing work you put into this devotional.
