Character and personality types
It is very difficult for the student or practitioner to find their way through the jungle of different personality typographies that has sprung up in the field of psychotherapy; and even harder for them to find a point of sufficient height above the forest canopy to get their bearings in order to compare one system with another. This volume offers such an observation point together with some possible mappings. This book seems to be directed at practitioners who want to learn more about typology and what to use for their clients. But it is also a great book for beginner students or people who simply have an interest in the topic.
Psychology was my first major but this book was so far the best source from which I learned about personality types. Mainly because of its structure. It goes through different schools of psychology describing the typology they use, where it comes from the problems it can create etc., lots of detail and easy to understand. It also discusses how typologies can be used with more spiritual approach such as astrology. And in the end it goes through benefits/problems and different approaches of integration.
