I received this book courtesy of the Goodreads First Reads Program for the purpose of a fair and honest review.
Overview: Calling all nerds! Do you ever wonder about odd creature facts? How about the science about alcohol? Or maybe you like a bunch of interesting bits of trivia? Where do you go for these facts? This book has an answer. The book is a set of collected essays on a wide range of topics. How will they land for most people? Let's find out.
Dislikes: There were quite a few articles that needlessly brought in politics. If you are trying to reach a wide range of readers, why would you risk alienating half your potential audience? It ruined what could have been a good book.
Likes: Many of the articles on the animals and plants were great.
There was a fun article on fermentation.
Conclusion: This book did start out strong, regardless of its problems. If you like to collect bits of trivia, then this book is for you. Enjoy the read.
