Codename: Deathwish
A new client fell out of the sky. Action Movie Star, Hayley Wish’s plane decided to take a nosedive with her inside. Quick thinking and a jarring ejection saved that pretty face.
Danica is there to ponder who, why and just how did they do that? Is it magic? It will take all of the team’s skills and abilities to figure it out.
Moriarity has turned his attention to Danica Grey and Jilly the Fae Dragon. Can they survive the probe?
In the meantime, the show must go on, and they’ll need to protect Hayley. There’s no stopping the actress with the nickname, Deathwish.
Defending against infomancy incursions, breaking and entering into a movie studio, and riding along for movie stunts. Danica didn’t sign up for any of it when she agreed to run Spellbound Security’s Cleveland office.
Doesn’t matter. Protecting their client comes first, no matter the cost. Danica’s team is on the case.
But will it be enough, with the darkness Moriarity and his assistant Solene bring behind the scenes? There’s only one way to find out.

113 books131 followersI’m TR Cameron, science fiction author. I’ve been an avid consumer of the genre since I was six, I think, when I broke the seal on my Dad’s copies of the Asimov Foundation books. It’s been all downhill since then.
I have a day job that I love most days, and writing is pretty much my only consistent hobby. When I find time that’s not already filled with my wife, my daughter, my writing, my work, or dodging the affections of our clowder of cats, you can find me playing video games (currently Dishonored 2 – I’m a little behind the times on this one), watching things (Marvel movies, American Gods, Agents of Shield, Justified, The Expanse, Gotham), playing board games, or, naturally, reading.
My favorite authors in Sci-Fi are David Weber, Jean Johnson, John Scalzi, CJ Cherryh, and the giants: Asimov, Pohl, Bear, Heinlein, etc. I read a lot in other genres too, and am a big fan of Matthew Woodring Stover, Michael Anderle, Jim Butcher, and I could go on and on and on. If I had to choose one favorite, though, it would be Stephen R. Donaldson, whose Thomas Covenant series was transformative for me.
Probably my pie-in-the-sky dream for my writing career is that someone would make a movie or television show of my books and I could be a part of the production. Sure, unlikely, but a clowder-dodger can dream, right? My more practical dream is that I can keep writing and both entertaining and connecting with my readers for years and years to come.

Dang! Here we go again!
Ya know? Reading this series I can’t help but think that celebrities must all be a bunch of idiots. I mean seriously , we normal people come in all varieties, but Cameron’s celebs seem to all have, well, a death wish.
You see however, that’s not quite true, what they have and what Cameron portrays so elegantly, is a fear of losing what they’ve gained. Celebrity is a fickle phenomenon, and fans are easily lost (except in publishing…. We’ll tolerate a few bad books if the good ones eventually return). Cameron makes good use of this to fuel this series, and while I’m doubtful he intended that as subtext, there it is. And now I find myself wondering if he couldn’t manage to make an episode that involved an indie publishing entrepreneur who got his/her start with a single book. The results could be hilarious!!!!

There is some decent action and creative ideas. However, the plot and storylines are much like other similar books in this and other related series. If you've read other series by these authors, you won't have any surprises. The technomancy portions took up the majority of the book this time. They are ok for me, but not what I really want to focus on. I skimmed quite a bit. They seemed to be a filler and were extremely wordy and descriptive. Eh - it was ok but definitely not a high ranking for me. More like a filler book when I need a break from something else.

Exciting and fun.
TR Cameron, Martha Carr and Michael Anderle always deliver entertaining, humorous,came enjoyable books, and this third book in the Spellbound series didn't let down.
Danika and crew are up against a secretive nemesis, who seems determined to sow chaos for the team and anyone they protect.
I look forward to the release of book four next month.

An enemy that enjoys the hunt
Danica and her group are assigned to protect an actress, but not just any actress, one who likes to do her own stunts. To add to it, someone is targeting their team as well. Another fun and action packed adventure that is a great read and hard to put down.

An interesting installment in this magical security series
This series is about a magical security service that protects people in dangerous professions. The team is interesting and quirky. They are learning to work together in new ways. I will definitely read the next book in the series.

A decent urban fantasy novel with the usual snark, magic slinging, some nice characters and a decent story etc. etc. I usually avoid books where Martha Carr has had her fingers in the story these days since they almost always go into a death spiral for me but so far it seems like T.R. Cameron has managed to keep the story decent. I guess we will se how it goes.
