By and1515 He only meant to keep her long enough to secure his brother's release from the white men. But the further he lead her away from the white settlement in the wilderness the harder it became to keep his hands to himself. Deborah was furious with her father for trying to arrange a marriage to a man she compared to a weasel with to many hands for his own good. And then to top it all off she'd been kidnapped by an arrogant man whom she couldn't escape from and in the end she never wanted to leave him for anyone else.
OK story. Parts I skipped but overall the story got better as I read further. She is the daughter of an Earl. With an arranged marriage hanging over her she falls in love with the half breed brother of the Native family she has befriended. There is sadness and tragedy and at the end she lives with his people to escape a possessive and evil father. HEA ending
This is a wonderful book. I really didn't want to put this book down. I stayed up late in the night reading. Deborah and Teshingee's story was absolutely fabulous. Theirs was an impossible love. The characters were well developed and engaging. Riveting!
This was the first romance book I ever read. I read it in 6 hours. Sort for two and was still up in time for school. I have been hooked ever since. It takes you back in time to a bygone era of forbidden love. The kind of love we all want.
I remember reading this as a teenager and loving it. Apparently I didn't know good writing at that time. This book is perfect for the "white noise" you sometimes need to clear you head. As for good writing-you won't find it here. The book tends to skip around and puts more events in it then 1 book should have. But then again, it was the perfect "junk" reading I needed.
