Witchwood Boys #2

Come Dance With the Witchwood Boys

Rate this book
I accidentally married three witch stalkers.

They've escaped perpetual hell, courtesy of yours truly.

They’ve also gone viral with their annoying thirst trap asses in leather.

#theWitchwoodBoys

Fine. The power of magic is worth the price.

Though getting trapped in those woods again is always a possibility.

We’ll have to seal the gate with a little … group participation.

We’ll need to utilize a sex-based resurrection spell.

I can the Hag Wytch does eat people while they’re still alive and screaming—even if that person is your lover.

I still need help. Will pay in pumpkin bread.

Come Dance with the Witchwood Boys is a reverse harem/why choose romance (meaning one woman with three men). It’s an urban fantasy with a ton of spicy scenes, and a dash of Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Inside, you’ll find invisibility spells, sexy chess games, and inappropriate broom scenes. All characters are 22 or older.

C.M. Stunich is a self-admitted bibliophile with a love for exotic teas and a whole host of characters who live full time inside the strange, swirling vortex of her thoughts. Some folks might call this crazy, but Caitlin Morgan doesn't mind - especially considering she has to write biographies in the third person. Oh, and half the host of characters in her head are searing hot bad boys with dirty mouths and skillful hands (among other things). If being crazy means hanging out with them everyday, C.M. has decided to have herself committed.

She hates tapioca pudding, loves to binge on cheesy horror movies, and is a slave to many cats. When she's not vacuuming fur off of her couch, C.M. can be found with her nose buried in a book or her eyes glued to a computer screen. She's the author of over thirty novels - romance, new adult, fantasy, and young adult included. Please, come and join her inside her crazy. There's a heck of a lot to do there.

Oh, and Caitlin loves to chat (incessantly), so feel free to e-mail her, send her a Facebook message, or put up smoke signals. She's already looking forward to it.

Plot? Don’t know her sorry. 👩🏻‍🦯‍➡️

The only thing that happened in this book was sex, sex, regret having sex, complain about the men, sex, oh god we’re gonna be killed soon (worries about it but continues to do nothing about it?!), more sex, complain abt the men some more, you know on and on. 🔄🔄

Now I absolutely adore this author because you don’t really have to think too hard about anything while reading her stories but to just sit back and enjoy the ride. The first book of this series? Yeah it was like that I enjoyed myself a little, but this book? Sorry babes but it just went down hill.

If this book was any longer I most likely would have DNF’d.

This book was a frustrating read for me for a few reasons. The plot is missing, and I often wondered if it was lost in the Witchwoods. There were things that I didn't like. This book had, yet again, a lot of semen 😖 but also a lot of blood 🤢 and the broomstick scene 😵 Those things just come (no pun intended) with the book so it's whatever. The spicy scenes are spicy. Many times it felt like the story was centered around the spicy scenes and instead of the scenes happening naturally through story progression.

A hugely annoying thing from book one that I hoped would be resolved by the end of book 2 or at least close towards a resolution was the seemingly impending doom of the Hag Wytch. How can they be so fearful and yet rarely take any action to do anything about it? I like spice, but sex is the sole focus in this story and happens so often and at times that don't even make sense. Then the whole viral trending thing keeps being woven back into the story randomly and always feels irrelevant despite allegedly being worried about it, and they all still don't do anything about it. They still go out in public during peak times in crowded public spaces and other stuff, and then we get internal thoughts of Kate worrying about this and still doing nothing about it and thinking how the men (other than Lo) don't understand going viral. Yet, they've come to understand so many things and she could literally just show them the images and videos on her phone or laptop and say "this # shows how many people viewed or liked this image/video." 😮‍💨

I'm fine with Kate exploring her thoughts and feelings about each guy. I'm fine with the guys now trying to explore their thoughts and feelings about Kate and owning their desires to have her as a wife. I'm not okay with pages and pages of internal thoughts that do nothing to progress the story. I also got tired of the same stuff being repeated about Kate being forced in the Witchwoods or her still labeling them as stalkers when their relationships have progressed so far beyond that since book 1. She wants them to tell her and show her how they feel, and then when they do it, we end up with so much internal thought that I wanted to gouge my eyes out because a lot of it was repetitive thought. 😣

Obviously, I'm a glutton for punishment because I will probably read book 3. Why? I genuinely want to see if Brooks, Lo, and Tanner get to have a peaceful life with Kate and this coven. We get to see character development for each guy, especially when given their POV. Sometimes I liked Kate as a character and sometimes I don't because she just seems whiny and not attuned to any of these men who have been attentive to her since book 1 even when they were all still figuring out their feelings. There are brief instances where she's a strong FMC, such as going in the tree after friends, communicating to each man that she needs honesty and for them to actually like her (assertiveness), and standing up to her dad (with the support of Brooks). This version of her is rare, and it is weird that she expects them to be direct and honest with her about their feelings for her when she isn't being direct and honest with them. I mean, she eventually told Lo in a sort of direct way during a rant, but then she followed it by saying other stuff to distract and distance herself from the moment. I get that Kate has a fear of rejection and abandonment, but she also (since book 1) has talked about each guy having that as well so her expectations come off as self-centered because she wants to know their thoughts and feelings in relation to her. For most of book 2 she's thinking about Tanner looking distressed but we're 70-80% into the story by the time she finally gives him to ask what's going on and even then it ends up being more about her feelings and what she needs from him versus him and what he needs. I'm hoping that in book 3, she has actual character development and maybe even catches up to the men's developmental pace. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I love this FMC

Ugh I was not ready for this book to end, from beginning to end I could not rip my gaze from the pages. I was hooked on every single sentence, word, letter (jk on the last one but dang near) . I loved that we got to get a lot of the boys perspective in this book, it was nice to see how they felt about Kate, their very different personalities. I like all the guys but most of all I like Kate. She’s so understanding and kind, but not to the point of becoming some kind of benevolent Mary-Sue, she’s so incredibly relatable in her unsureness and fear of abandonment. I understand the men’s desire for her, because she’s not just beautiful on the outside but she’s also such a beautiful character on the inside. I can’t wait to read the next one because I need Kate and her men to get their happy ending.

Skipped the last 80 pages and only read the last two ones and the Excerpt. Sadly decided that i will not continue with this series.
Book one gave us so much potential. It was different and exciting. The plot and the smut went so well together and book two was highly disappointing.
The author promised huge character development for Kate. But where exactly? That girl was so childish and naive.
She wants something from the boys, they give it to her and then she is annoyed with them. Girl what?!

Even the boys had little to none development. And after two full books, that’s just not enough for me. Morally gray and a lot of spice? I’m totally okay with that.
But no plot, no character development, horrible characters, no world building, no explanation. NOOOOOTHING?! Yeah that’s a hard no for me.

I’m actually really sad, because I gave book one 4.5 stars.

It’s the Vegas thing, but instead of alcohol and missing memories, it’s blood sacrifice and weird sex.

I’d like to think the author came up with the premise for this entire series during a drunken game of Mad Libs because the scenarios were and continue to be so fucking outlandish and I’ll admit, I liked the first book more than I liked Come Dance With The Witchwood Boys

This book lacked PLOT, but what it lacked in plot, it sure as hell made up for in a plethora of vitamin dick. That doesn’t change the fact that we learned absolutely nothing. Nada. Zero. ZILTCH. About the Hag Wytch; more specifically why it's targeting Kate and her coven, or if you can even kill a wytch God... but who cares about that when we got more cum filled baked goods, jizz potions, chaotic rituals, potential human sacrifice and… an indirect offering of cannibalism????? - and god forbid a girl still wants to be part of this coven, because honestly? I just want my own goddamn sentient witch hat.

I need the third book to step up. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with Stunich’s writing - she has a refreshing and funny take on fantasy that makes it easy to follow without needing to think too deeply. But if the series keeps trying to coast on charm and steamy sex scenes alone, it’ll be all style, no substance… and I’ll be tossing this shit straight into the Witchwood tree.

Ehh, awkward pull between wanting more and less, it was entirely too heavy on the spice and too sparse with the plot. I want more things about this magical world explained, I want more development with everything outside of their relationship. This book reads much like many second books, set ‘em up to knock them down in the 3rd, but it lacked depth to hold my interest. That is until the last few pages where shit finally got going? One can hope…

Book 2 of Kate repeating how lonely she is and that everyone always leaves her when she has the emotional development of one of her banana slugs. All she does is complain about the guys needing to treat her better and then as soon as they so much as smile at her she freaks out and pushes them away. Like GIRL, no wonder no one sticks around! Use some of your cool new magic to conjure yourself a therapist.

I really like this story. The first book was great. Original and unlike anything I’ve read in the past few years. I wasn’t thrilled with the story moving into a second book, but I wanted to see how it played out and wrapped up. SPOILERS AHEAD: it doesn’t wrap up. The miscommunication/lack of communication continues at frustratingly frightening speeds and it seems every step forward is three backwards. I’m not sure a single thing was solved in book 2. The FMC becomes annoyingly stubborn. The amount of sex happening while they don’t solve these “imminent and world destroying” problems begins to become more and more frustrating as the book goes on and I found myself skipping through scenes just to see if answers were finally found. They aren’t. I’m not sure I’ll be reading book 3.

Audio. It's still entertaining, so I've waited patiently for the release of the third audio book. If you don't take this story too serious it definitely can be fun. Still, a lot of body fluids of all kinds. I mean the main ingredient for spells is ehm cum. So why not have some fun while trying to save the world. And despite there is a lot of sex involved I enjoyed the character development, the men opening up slowly.

This series has a filthy and creepy quality that sucked me inside. I feel the dirt and sweat, taste the earthiness, hear the screeching bats, and see this world coloured with magic. It feels invasive and not always in a good way. And, it makes me have to think too much, especially when it comes to the relationships Kate is building with each of the three Witchwood Boys. They are a coven, tightly and forever bound, and yet strangers. Do they even like her for her, or because they have to due to the coven spell, or because she's the first woman they've been close to in a long time?

I had to take a moment whilst reading to think about the time changes in the Witchwoods as compared to real life. One night in the Witchwoods equals one month in our world. One man spent 2 years in the woods, so nearly 61 years have passed. He was so desperate to leave the woods (rightly so, because it's a f*cking nightmare in there), but he has absolutely nothing left in our world. Family gone, no job, no money, no identity. My brain got stuck on that. Another man spent 8 months in the woods, so 20 years gone. His family and friends are still alive, but can't believe he hasn't aged or that his personality has changed so dramatically. Which is worse? Having no one or having people you can't relate to any longer?

Anyway, I'm probably over thinking all of this, but I'm enjoying being a little lost in this story and quite a bit disgusted with all the body fluids and creepy creatures and especially the Hag (she's terrifying). ✌

Interesting story. I really like Kate and Tanner; the other two are growing on me. This series is filled with all sorts of bodily fluids, beware lol. I love how protective and obsessed Tanner is right from the start. The story feels a bit drawn out; it definitely could have been edited down.

“I don’t know what coven ritual you did with Tanner and Marlowe, but I’m sure it wasn’t the one we did together. And the one we did together felt like …” I almost don’t say it, but then I see Tanner and Marlowe staring at me from the front of the cafe and it just slips out. “It felt like a wedding, and you promised me that night that you’d be a husband. You’re not acting like a husband, Brooks. Just a domineering dickhead and a stranger.” I turn away from him, but not before catching the expression on his face. Stunned. Dumbstruck. He might be the loneliest of them all, I realize, but I’m already walking away.

You were nice to me from the start. Don’t think I didn’t notice. It’s not like I don’t enjoy your flirtations. Your smiles. They’re working on me. They’re working way too well.

I take her mouth the way I want to take her heart and her cunt and every second of her day. I want to consume her the way she’s consuming me. I want to be the only thing she thinks about. I want to be her unholy husband. Desperately. Frantically. Obsessively.

Yeah, I really like him. He’s patient. But also fake. He’s putting on a show, and I want to see the person underneath.

“You make me feel like …” I sigh, and hope like hell that I won’t regret saying this. “Like I want to be loved by you. I want it so badly, in a way I’ve never wanted anything before.” I look right at him. “Nothing, Tanner.”

I’m all in. We’re never breaking up. You’re not going anywhere. If you try to run from me, I’ll chase you wherever you go—even into the Witchwoods. I’ll tell you everything you need to know with my actions.”

I'm not really sure how this book has the ratings that it does. I was on the fence after book one but it was a hard feat to get through this second book and I will not be reading the third. A bunch of random dirty sex scenes does not a book make. There was loads of steam in this one and that's not something I'm against per say but I don't like when the plot is a bunch of garbage the reader doesn't care about around said sex scenes. There was a load and a half of communication issues as the main conflict and then also the hag witch being the big baddie in this one... It just seemed not convincing. I didn't enjoy any part of this book, I should have followed my gut after the first one... Live and learn.

Finished with book 2 and I'm slightly ignored because the spice was extremely unnecessary and it's starting to out shadow the plot. Like all they do is f.ck in the name of a "spell" like is yall gone get the hag or just continue to make spells 🙄🙄. Like what keeps me reading is the idea of the story like I want to see what's going to happen but I'm hopping it happens in book 3 😭😭because if not.... I don't know if i can make it through another book where the relationship between the characters isn't developing or the MMCs not coming together to be a real coven lol. Like this I hate you dialogue is getting old real quick ! Yall not in the witch woods no more move on or go back lol

I DNFed this book. I really liked the first book especially everything that happened in the Witchwoods, however plot in this book fell flat for me. I didn’t see any emotional connection growing between characters. Sex scenes felt awkward for me again due to lack of emotional connection. I felt like Kate accepted too soon that these three dudes now live in her house, sleep in her bad, drive her car and etc. Like why? She was independent girl who owned her own business and house. Why would she be ok with three dudes moving in and being bossy? Just cause she’s been lonely and starved for attention. Idk 🫤not very convincing for me

Great read but mixed feelings

Ok so I don't know if I thought this one was as good as the first but that being said I still binged it non stop because I couldn't put it down. These books have a great plot and are super fun and ridiculous. So silly. But this one is definitely lacking on action. This is more about Kate's existential crisis. This is why I say I have mixed feelings. On one hand it gets a little old listening to her ackwardly deal with the guys. She's too ackward and embarrassed a lot of the time. Like I can't always even understand what she is fighting them about. It seemed a little draw out. However on the other hand, it is crazy realistic. Like it's an in depth study of her feelings (and theirs). Kate trying to come to terms with her new reality and I don't think we often get something like this in fantasy books where it is solely focused on them trying to deal. So I am torn, I love the fresh point of view but I did feel like it was a little to drawn out at times. I also love that it takes place in a real town, a lot of times I Google the places they go ( like the pink lady and fern canyon). I love getting a visual reference and it just adds that little something. Overall still think I was a great read that I didn't want to put down. Definitely will be reaching for the third one.

"The only difference is that he's decided to like me. Doesn't like me yet, just that he decided to"

This explains the whole book. All the men are forcing themselves to like Kate for various reasons. Kate is the absolute worst and so are the other men. Tired of her pick me attitude.

Please, I need more. Whatever crack is in this series…I can’t explain it.

**only dropped my rating because I found there was a lot less plot in this one, it was almost like an interlude, but TONS of character development which was awesome. I felt this was slower, I really enjoyed the plot of book 1, the pacing just felt different here.

BRING ON BOOK 3 LETS GO.
