Orion's Shield

Rate this book
It's 2015, and President Martin Mcleod's approval ratings have gotten so low that re-election is in jeopardy unless he does something inspiring, and what can inspire people more than a mission to outer space? Under the guise of hosting a summit on international peace, President Mcleod invites the prime ministers of Palestine and Israel onboard Orion's Shield. Throughout the planning period, President Mcleod has been haunted by dreams that foretell an outer-space terrorist attack while he is on his selfish mission. His fears are allayed in Orion's Shield, a team comprised of the top members of each branch of the military. Orion's Shield's sole purpose is to protect the international leaders while they discuss their disputes. What no one yet knows is that many wish this mission will fail and that al-Qaeda has managed to infiltrate the International Space Station. Will Orion's Shield be able to work together as one unit, despite their differences, to protect these leaders? Will these countries be able to beat the odds and devise a plan to achieve peace? Will President Mcleod ever learn to put his people before himself? Find out in Orion's Shield, a political roller coaster of good, evil, lust for power, and patriotic courage.

The president needs to do something heroic before the next election or he will lose. A trip into outer- space with a special military unit and international political leaders turns disastrous as the President discovers just how disliked he is. In space he is able to soul search as those around him try to destroy or save him.
