It's a fun catalog and made me wonder about areas I know little about. Will be fun to keep the book and see how things have changed in 50 years. Hopefully by not much. ...more

This book is co-authored by Dave Foreman and Howie Wolke, it's mislabled here. Wolke, an expert backpacking wilderness guide, and Foreman have compiled an exhaustive inventory of the largest chunks of wilderness in the United States. The book's descriptive language and helpful format are an excellent tool for those interested in knowing exactly how much wilderness is left in the U.S. It is also an extremely useful reference tool for wilderness statistics and flora/fauna of wilderness areas. ...more
