With Sasha as the proclaimed Mage of high ranking power, she can't just slip under the carpet to a peaceful existance. Instead, she must present herself to the Council, a group of white mages who reside over the magical community, governing Stefan's people. There she must prove she has what it takes to be the mage of Stefan's clan, not something easily done.

4.5 badassery in action stars

this was the best book in the series so far!

action packed to the fullest, sexy banter, hilarious dialogues (Jonas and Charles are cracking me up, each with their snarky comments while eagerly protecting our heroine)

Sasha and Stefan (aka "the Boss") are facing the Council were they need to prove they are worthy, as individuals and as a couple (still non acceptable relationship between vampire and a human)and the end is just the kind to blow your mind - ang

Now that Stefan has chosen Sasha to be clan Mage, she must present herself to the Council, a group of white mages (as in power level, not as in good vs. evil) who reside over the magical community governing Stefan’s people – in order to prove that she has what it takes - and be given “the green light” so to speak. Stefan must also present himself as he has been noticed as quite the Alpha leader and as having outgrown his position and striving for more – so he too must be vetted and prove himself ...more

The Council is book five in this series and honestly it is my favourite one so far. This book contained huge amounts of action and the stakes have never been higher for Sasha and her group of friends. I couldn’t put this story down as I was sucked in and held my breath multiple times wondering how our heroes would get out of this one. Sasha has always been a work in progress, but I loved how we got to see how far she has come. She is no longer weak, no longer unsure of herself. She showed her st ...more

No cliffhanger finally & it only took this author 5 books in this series to achieve a solid ending... Hopefully book 5 started a new trend lol on to book 6.

This feels like an ending. So much is answered and figured out. I am so impressed with these characters. I enjoy reading about them. They have a balance of fun and courageous that makes me want to read about them and keeps me hooked.

This one was the best one yet. Sasha really steps up and puts her game face on and gets a backbone of steel! We finally learn about what Sasha is and she finally “embodies” her powers thank the good lord because I was so tired for her!

We really get to see Sasha in her element at the council compound while she and Stefan are constantly challenged over and over while waiting for a political backer. I’m really unsure why the story continues after this book because this definitely had an ending fee

This may be my favorite in the series! Its action packed, its hilarious, its everything I wanted in a book. I may or may not also cry like a baby towards the end. Gaaahhh its just so amazing!! I cant wait to read more Sasha & Stefan's adventure & ofcourse Charles & Jonas i love them! ♥
Okay, this is by far my favorite of the series! I absolutely loved it!

In this installment we see Sasha, Stefan, Dom, Toa, and the gang heading to the Council so they can evaluate Sasha's magic so she can officially be declared black Mage status. The shifters come along too so they can bridge a gap between the two people and officially become allies. They're all a little on edge though cause there are no rules or allies at the council and they are going to be constantly going up against cutthroa

I was given an ARC for an honest review. 4.5 stars.
It must be difficult to write paranormal romance. Many paranormal fans probably don't go for mushy, breasts heaving, bodice ripping action, and romance fans might be turned off by the violence, monsters and things that go bump in the night. K.F Breene brings us this series and blends the two brilliantly, marrying the genres with a heavy dose of comedy and a strong female lead character that you can help but like. In "The Council", Sasha, S

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!! KF Breene has done it again!! I absolutely adore her books. She has an unbelievable talent with writing her characters. This installment of the Darkness series is no different. I especially loved getting more time with Ann. She is fierce and loyal to the bone and I love her. It's rare that I can say that NONE of the characters in a book annoyed me. The council is full of suspense, awesome fight scenes and very sexy lovemaking!! What I loved especially about this installment ...more

Had the extreme good fortune of reading an ARC of The Council, which for those who are new is the fifth installment to the Darkness series. Four books into the story and each one better than the first. I hate reading and stopping a story for any reason, so I make damn sure that once I start I keep on going until the page with The End on it is in my line of vision. There was no damn chance I was going to be distracted, no way. I was transported to another existence by the sheer force of the Autho ...more

First of all, Oh My Goodness!!!

This book was just what I expected from K.F. Breene. I have read all of her books, and I finished all of them within a day. Right now, my life is in somewhat of disarray. I have two children, a 5 month old and a 6 year old. I am in school, and these books are like my getaway from reality. I was not disappointed. My heart was pounding through 90% of it. The relationships between Sasha and Stefan is absolutely perfect. It's something every woman wants. He

Again, great book! Annnnnddddd Sasha finally goes all bad-ass bitch crazy on the enemy. I was actually apprehensive while reading this one. I didn't know what to expect with the power hungry council members. I love it when an author writes a book so well, that I feel like I'm right there beside the characters enduring their struggles.
I really can't say enough about this series. I love it!

Can't get enough

I was hooked after reading book one. Have books six and seven waiting for me to read next. Great characters and lots of action.

I absolutely love this series! Danger, fighting, betrayl, suspense, love, friendship, and toe curling sex await the reader. A good dose of sarcastic humor is always available as well.
This is by far one of my favorite series all paranormal fans should own these!

[note to self - from now on just WRITE THE REVIEWS WHEN YOU FINISH THE BOOK] anyway - writing all this on 9/29, like all the others in this series ... HOWEVER I actually remember (I think) what happens!

This starts with the crew rolling in on ... 😹 winnebagos to the council.
All those challenges.
The meeting of the one human dude.

All the fighting Sasha and Stefan have to do, individually. No romance really in this book - lots of set up for the next. So I took this fro

Another Paranormal Bodice Ripper

So far (and I’ve read up through “Charles” at this point), this sets the tone for the rest of this series. While this “book” (novella more accurately as is a 3 hour read at most, as are those that follow) sets the tone for the remainder of the series, the reader must REALLY love bodice rippers as the supernatural aspect doesn’t evolve too much. I will finish this series before moving on to another author with a bit more substance.
But if you love lots of sex sc

I stumbled on this series by mistake and I am glad I did. In this book Sasha and Stefan are headed to meet the Council to whom Sasha has to prove that she has the power level that she been rumored to have as well as earn the trust of Stefan's people. Stefan too is tested to see what this young and powerful influential leader is after. The Council is full of old ways and vampires that still believe that humans should be pets and serve no other purpose other than food and sex.Not to mention they t ...more

I would have given this story another star but I can't quite get over the question in my mind of why once Sasha was approved as the mage for Stefan's clan (which was the reason given for their appearance before the Council) they continued to hang around to face all the life threatening challenges? I know. If they hadn't there wouldn't have been a story, and it was a highly entertaining story like the rest of this series full of action drama and sexy times. It just seems that our lovers could hav ...more

A good semi conclusion

This was a really good book with a lot of twist and turns that show how far Sasha has come and how far she yet has to go! (Just shows it's not about the level of ur power, but also your understanding and wielding of it!) I did want to slap the hell out of her in the beginning; like how much trust and respect do you have for Stefan and even more so for yourself (Loved Jonas in that moment!)! She now knows what he must've felt when she first blocked the link without telling hi

I've been dreading Stefan, Sasha & co meeting The Council & I was right to worry!! A couple of fascinating characters were introduced that I hope we'll meet again & I continue to adore the 'human witches'!!

This book is full of tension, treachery, love, fear, friendships & families. With all that these emotions unleash you are sure to love the wild ride you'll be taken on during this book.

It's a great read, I couldn't put it down!! I'm so enamoured by this

Absolutely Outstanding

Sometimes I don’t know why I even bother!! I really dislike reading reviews to then find out that what was written had absolutely nothing to do with the book. It’s almost like they kinda skimmed it made up a bunch of stuff just to write a review. WHY??? Seriously!! I have throughly enjoyed this series, The Council Darkness #5 is the best so far. We learned so much more about Sasha. I love the family and loyalty she is gathering. I love her strength, it’s real not a fantasy

As the series continues, you have written another excellent book! Sasha will go through many trials as well as Stefan. Father and daughter bonds will strengthen. There is plenty of action and humor. Jonas will help Sasha grow and Charles plays a very important part. Friends will become closer and the past will bite them in the butt. Lots of changes within the clan and the council! Read on as I recommend this book and the next and the rest of the series.

Sasha isn’t unique!?!

At the council Sasha encounters Cato and discovers that her magic isn’t unique. There are more surprises in store while Sasha and crew work against old and new enemies.

This was better written than the first four. Good sex scenes like always. KF Breene keeps you excited (in more ways than one) throughout the book.

Read this book and you won’t be disappointed. Happy reading y’all!

Great Story

I’m a huge fan of the author’s work, and this series is no exception. Excellent storytelling with compelling, likable characters.

SPOILERS to follow!!!

I love how Sasha’s group has fully come together. Charles has been a longtime favorite, and Jonas is the perfect counterpart to his levity. Sasha has really come into her own, and I can’t wait to read how the rest of her story unfolds.
Boundless Book Reviews
I read the first four books in this series back in 2014. When I saw that they are now on K/U I decided to try the fourth. I have read too many books in between and my memory isn’t that good to try and pick up in the middle. So I can honestly tell someone if they are starting this series don’t start here start from the beginning.

I think had I started over I would have been invested in the characters, reading it the way I did, I just wasn’t. The writing is great, and the story is fast-

Fighting evil and coming into her powers to save the one she loves...

Sasha, Stefan and their friends are on the way to meet with the Council, both knowing they are going to have to answer challenges. What they weren't expecting was for Stefan to be captured by an old foe. Can Sasha become the leader she needs to be to save and everyone else?

This book is full of corruption, evil vs good, new friends and allies. Also of a young couple's destiny and love.

Green magic started pooling around them, tingling my skin. I opened up to the elements, feeling the sweet rush. I felt Stefan’s magic balancing and leveling, and then coaxing a bit more. Another rush of energy entered the link. Probably Charles. Then another—Jonas. Stefan was pooling the resources so I could unleash hell. “Here they come, baby. Get ready.”Stefan’s voice was low and anxious. Those five guys, hard-eyed and determined, pushed their way through the crowd. Vicious gazes scanned my protection unit, two focusing on Tim.
