I love Tomoko Taniguchi's work, and Just A Girl Book One is no exception. Her art as usual is nice and cute, and I enjoy her realistic dialogue and issues her teenage protagonists experience. I thought it was adorable how Erica still carries stuffed animals around, and how they each have their own little personality. ;) Her growth with Rena as a new friend is interesting, and I'm looking forward to Book Two to see how they continue to balance each other.

More of a 3.5 than a 3. I love Tomoko Taniguchi's works, so I was thrilled to find a series of hers I hadn't read yet. I wish Erica/Rena became a thing despite the series' adamant refusal of such a relationship ever occurring. Erica is so cute! It's nice that her friends do not make fun of her for her stuffed animal collection. I can only imagine what kind of conclusion the second and final book will bring.
