This book was incredibly well done! As a firefighter turned clinician, there were several things I empathize with and several things I’ve learned. Dena does an amazing job of capturing the first responder experience in regard to mental health and how we can change our culture from all levels.

The chapters are broken up into consistent and impactful content while also sharing some insight into her own struggles. Anyone in mental health that works with first responders will definitely benefit from reading this book and any first responder who has had their own issues with mental health, you’re not alone. This book has tremendous insight. Well done my friend!

Ever wonder about what first responders get through some of the things they have to see and endure? This book takes the time to dig deep into just that. What causes trauma? How do we deal with that trauma? How do we not stigmatize getting help? I have no doubts that this book will save lives. I highly recommend this book for all first responders or any one who might know a first responder and wonder how you might be of assistance to them
