An old fashioned fairy tale that begins with Cinderella's coachman scurrying away and the fairy godmother forgetting to turn him back into a mouse. A small gray man who likes cheese, Cinders finds work in the stable and has adventures with the king's horse. He has no solid recollection of
the Cinderella story but experiences dream flashes. The illustrations show him with a gnome-like face. Interesting chapter headings.

Actually this story picks up right after the clock struck midnight and the magic Cinderella's Fairy Godmother used faded away.

I discovered this story as a teenager and absolutely fell in love with the romance of it all.

This is a children's story, a quick read, and cute. At times the wording was difficult to understand but that may just be me adapting to when it was written. This was recommended to me from a co-worker and she lent me her copy. I'm glad I read it. It left me with a smile on my face. A Happy Ending!
