“We are all in this together.”

Paige Matthews is starting a new chapter in her life. Moving cross country to start a career in the FBI. Following in her older brother Taz’s footsteps. Paige is a wild child- she does what she wants when she wants and she is a very sexual being.
This is what I loved about everything sexual: The control of it. The power.

After getting on her sister-in-laws bad side with some of her escapades, she finds her self looking for roommates. Darcy’s friend Eli and his partner Cain have room and could use the extra cash so Paige moves in. Cain and Eli are the perfect couple. They are both very much in love with one another. Paige becomes close friends with the both of them and as time goes on, she starts so change. To grow, and turn her life around. These three turn into a little trio of close friends. She comes to love and care about both Cain and Eli.

The more time she spends with these two, the more her feelings develop. Especially for Cain. They develop a close bond. Love, lust, attraction... All three of them feel it for each other. The men are secure with their relationship and their feelings for Paige, but can she handle the thought of both men loving her, wanting to be with her?
I wanted him- I wanted both of them- to do anything and everything that they desired.

I loved this... trio! Cain and Eli were introduced to us in Andrea’s G-Man series. I loved Eli in Night Moves, but I was surprised with how much I fell in love with Cain in this novella. Yep- Cain stole the show for me. Paige drove me crazy the first few chapters. She was funny, but not very likable or relatable to me. But that all changed the more I kept reading. Watching her growth the more time she spent with Cain and Eli was wonderful. The dynamic of their relationship might seem a little strange or controversial, but they way they felt and the feelings they had for one another were really beautiful.
‘Sometimes, it’s right there in front of you.’

The menage scenes were HOT! But some of the . I feel that Smith did an excellent job of making this novella hella sexy, but still giving us a fantastic story. I would have loved an entire book about Cain, Eli and Paige!

These Men is a novella that can be found in the BEND anthology.

I'm a total sucker for a well-crafted Menage story...
"A threesome is an event," he replied. "I'm looking for much more than that, Paige."
Modern Erotic Romance is a wide world full of diverse sub-genres. There is something for everyone! No matter your kink, there's an author who can satisfy your needs.

Some readers flock to Billionaires, Cowboys, Vampires, or Rockstars... Some readers dig on Happily-ever-Afters, dirty-talk, abductions, BDSM, Motorcycle gangs...

I'll stop now, but you get the idea...

As you may already know, I am a Professional Reader of Erotica. I have read every kink imaginable and I am often asked "What is your favorite kind of Erotica?" and the answer has been the same for years.

MMF Erotic Romance is my jam.

MMF Romance: That's two bisexual males and one female.
One Relationship, three hearts, three minds, three souls, and yes... One bed.

The sex is a huge draw for me (obviously) in these types of relationships, but it also brings out my favorite kind of angst and indecision.

Plus, it is a difficult scenario to write... and write well.
The reader has to LIKE all three of the parties involved.

If any of the three rub the reader the wrong way, we will immediately start hoping that the trio turns into a happy duo.

There are so many pieces of information which must come together to satisfy the reader's desire to know that this (yes, I know it's fictional) relationship, however uncommon, is built to last.

That's a lot of suspension of disbelief. It is a hard enough thing to accomplish a believable love story between two parties...
But this is about THREE.
three personalities
three back-stories

...and Andrea Smith took on the monumental task of accomplishing it in 140 pages.

My hat is off to Andrea Smith... I'd love to see what she can do with a full length novel & the MMF theme... And by that I mean:

Dear Andrea Smith,
Please may I have some more?

These Men is a novella only available within the Anthology from the authors of The Erotic Consortium. The anthology will be available for a limited time. Bend.

For those who have read The G-Men Series, you'll be very familiar with these characters, but if you are a first timer - this can be read as a stand alone.

Paige is the younger and little bit wilder sister to Taz and Easton, moving from Napa to DC to join the FBI she finds herself having to face some harsh reality about her choices. After moving from both brother's homes she finds herself rooming with Eli & Cain. Both these two men have had their share of problems but they are finally at a place where they can be honest with each other about how they feel and what they want.

When they show Paige the error in her behavior she tries to turn her life around. She she begins to allow her new life to take shape she finds it impossible to deny her attraction to Cain and eventually Eli.

Screenshot_2

Paige struggles to come to terms with the idea that both men can love her and that by loving them back, she isn't coming between them and breaking them - but giving something to them that makes all three of them whole.

Excuse me while I gush for a few moments.

I discovered this author through recommendations from fellow GoodReads readers that have never failed to point me in the direction of a good book. This novella was completely packed with yummy goodness. I had already enjoyed my time getting to know Eli & Cain from the prior books and loved that where Cain had left me a little pissy before, brought me back into book boyfriend lust easily.

Andrea Smith can write. She gives us great alpha males that are loyal, confident and eff'n hot. But it goes so much deeper than the reader falling in love with the character. The story is solid and the writing draws you in and makes you want to read everything else she has released. I still have a few titles from her that are on my list to read but those were books that I had to one-click instantly after my first read. I know that I'll get to them and I know that I'll enjoy the hell out of them.

Okay - I held back a bit before I decided to go ahead and put my rating in for this book.

Clearly, this novella was something "new" for me, and I wasn't sure that I could pull it off appropriately. I'm not gonna lie, it was the most difficult piece I've written so far.

This book deals with menage - something I've not written before, and clearly, something I felt totally out of my element writing! I mean, c'mon!! Nicole Edwards? YES - she can write menage like there's no tomorrow!!

I wanted a book that didn't focus so much on the 'mechanics' of menage, but the emotional aspects of it - the angst, the indecision, the 'how will people judge me' part of being in an alternative life-style relationship.

My beta and ARC readers said, "Yes, Andrea! You pulled it off!"

I'll let the rest of you be the judge of that!!

Okay, so I have to admit that menage stories are not my favorites. I'm okay with them if the act happens as a little interlude while the couple is becoming a couple. But after certain relationship rules are laid down, I just can't grasp the concept of sharing. However...shockingly, Smith really pulled this off!!

I think what made this work is that the setup for this permanent menage came about after a great friendship was already established. Eli and Cain (you may remember them from the G-men series) are bisexual but together. Their relationship is good...great even. Both are pretty open with their sexuality but they live a normal life. There's really nothing crazy going on here, they're not on the prowl for any kind of sexcapades.

At first, Paige grated my damn nerves. Gotta say, I was really nervous for the first bit of this book because she comes across as a selfish party girl, respecting no rules and flat out disrespecting her brothers and their wives. Not impressed, Paige.

Then we get to the meat of the story and the realization of what it's all about dawned on me. Paige grows tremendously as a person within this 100 page novella. I was, quite frankly, blown away at how much I ended up liking her. After moving out of her brother's home to room with Eli and Cain, Paige goes from wild child to a calmer, more...domesticated(?) Paige. They seem to have this fantastic way of completing each other, and I don't think anyone realized it until Cain brought it up.

And before I get to the sex, I just want to point out that normally menage stories revolve around the sex...the focal point is the taboo, the raunch, the hot flash inducing smexy times. But that really wasn't the case here. From my point of view, it was the way these three came to fill the empty spots in each other's lives. Cain and Eli are great guys, and I think that Paige stepped in at just the right time for them. When the sex finally does happen, it's holy shit hot...how could it not be with these three? But it was actually quite romantic as well. And there's a moral to the story, believe it or not, and one that really made me think. At one point, Cain and Eli are talking to Paige about her previous partner and what a complete douchecanoe he is. The gist of their conversation is that respecting yourself should come first when it comes to your sexuality. Why is sleeping with many, many partners deemed okay but not a committed relationship between three people? Hmmm...

"You have to respect yourself," Cain told me with gentle brutality, his hand still holding my face. "Sexuality isn't a privilege or a lifestyle, Paige. It's a person's right. You can do anything you want to do with...whomever. But you have to respect yourself, and make sure that the other person damn well respects you as well."

I'm in danger of writing a book about this book, so I'll wrap it up. To put it bluntly, I think this is some of Andrea's best work. I've felt so-so about a couple of her books, I've looooooved a couple of her books, I've really enjoyed them all. But this just felt good. Believe it or not, it was a feel-good menage. Never thought I'd say that.

This book?

description

Being that this story was part of the Bend anthology that I thought would be just chaff (being that I pretty much only bought it for Worth and Kick) I went into it not even knowing what it was about. I've never read anything by this author (I don't think anyway...) and I didn't even read the blurb.

After the first 25% or so, I was NOT a fan. The main character was an immature skank and I found her to be incredibly unlikable.

But THEN, seemingly out of left field, and then right field and center field - that's right the WHOLE field - came this AWESOME story with some of my favorite elements.

I don't want to ruin anything for anyone, so I will stop there. But I will leave you with this:

Get it and read it. And do yourself a favor and go in blind.

Paige Matthews is the sister of Trace 'Taz' and half sister to Easton if you've read Andrea's G-Man series you'll know who I'm talking about, Paige is a bit of a spoilt brat and she doesn't have much respect for those around her and more importantly herself, but her parents have kicked her out of her family home to stand on her own two feet and take some responsibility for her own actions. So here she is in the car on the way to stay at her brothers home with Taz, Lindsey and their two children. Taz has also got her an Internship the pay isn't great hence the bunking at the brothers, but this is her new life.

Paige enjoys sluting herself about which is probably the best way to explain it and in all honestly it's the only thing she has where she gets some emotion, some feeling, but she does it with the wrong men, she is known for her bad behaviour she also gets into rouble with her sister-in-law and therefore they rub each other the wrong way so she gets kicked out and moves on to live with Easton and Darcy.

 photo F8EC6731-B8B1-4AA8-B84B-3938AA961E7F_zpsbbjxejwb.jpg

Cain and Eli are very much in love they have learnt the bad and now at the other end of their relationship where they're happy where they are. And we all know how Darcy and Eli are close and that's how Paige goes on to meet Cain where they get pally and where Cain propositions her to move in with Caine and Eli to get away from the strife and awkwardness that are in the way of her brothers this is a huge weight lifted off her shoulders, the boys need help with the bills and upkeep of their home and Paige needs freedom to live her life how she wants to live it.

So here we have a gay couple and a single woman who enjoys men living and breathing together, so the next step Cain and Paige, Cain and Paige become good friends they spend more time together than Paige does with Eli mainly because she helps Cain with his catering business as she need the extra cash and he's around more than Eli. Caine and Paige learn how each other works and become close friends in more ways than one, but mainly Paige learns to trust and let Cain into her heart where she learns to have some respect for herself and not let men who are only after one thing rule her existence. Cain is the lead man in this relationship from go but aside from his strength and loving nature towards Paige their feelings towards each other start to get mingled into more.

 photo A5251AFB-8F39-4597-BBA6-6EFB0E02BC44_zpsszdtlqq3.jpg

Will Paige listen to the advice she's given? will she respect herself and learn to love what's right in front of her?

"All I want for you, Paige, is to stop hiding behind your dual facades," he murmured. "If you stop doing things for attention, and start being who you're meant to be, I think your need for romance and commitement will be satisfied. Sometimes, it's right there in front of you."

Enter SEXUAL TENSION Will they start to become more? will they change the dynamics of there relationship? will they change what they've been and love to love?

And is she ready to pull her Big girl pants on and start to be happy? Start to live?

 photo 33E42A45-DFBA-43B3-9972-C8DD3001723F_zpsktw5zse0.jpg

Eli you ask what about Eli? all I will say here is Eli loves unconditionally he wants Cain to be happy, and he always always puts others before himself just remember that this is one of the big reasons why we love Eli, right? he gives his all into his relationship, he gives his all into his friendships and his family.

"I love you, man," Cain murmured. "You and me, we're in this for the long haul, you get that right?"...... "Okay then, so I want you to be more than okay with it. I want you to be part of it."
-Cain

"For the first time ever, I feel like I belong somewhere... with someone... with you," I breathed. -Paige

"This is mine, Cain, "I whispered. "This I for me. I want you to fuck me like you mean it."
-Paige

 photo kissmeslowlygif_zpsdd0970e3.gif

Eventually they all embark on something more, but more than that, they embark on an intimate, loving, beautiful and unique relationship with each other after all this is all that Paige has needed, she just needed to feel loved and to be loved.

"Get undressed," he ordered, "We'll do the sensual shit another time, but for right this second, I need to be inside you as mine, too."
-Eli

My thoughts
I thought 'these men' had a very different feel to it than other ménage trio books that I've read previously, actually I love ménage reads and seriously this plot was unique, refreshing and different, it was a gradual build up where I was able to take hold of the story as I went on and as usual once I started I couldn't put it down. I felt that I have some connection to these characters maybe because I've read their journey in the G-man series and when finishing them I was on a serious book slump and even though there isn't a great amount of time wit Taz, Easton and the gang I did feel that because of that I really enjoyed this story, saying that if you haven't read the G-man series do not miss this, it is a stand alone, you are reading their story and won't miss anything by not reading the rest of the series. It is sensual, sexually Intense, there's a good plot, Dialogue and I personally felt that Andrea's writing has moved on from her previous books, I felt more connected to the characters, I felt like it was more fluid and although this is a Novella it was a story that completed, it has no cliffhanger... my only ask is please maybe someday to have some sort of peak into their future? 'hint' wink wink'

4 Lessons Learned, Eyes Opened Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
Why does it take a repetition of the same actions over and over again to get us to finally see... maybe we haven't figured out the right course for us... Oh, you know what I mean... come on... how many times have friends fallen for the same guy... only he had different hair or eye color... he even could have lived in a different city; done a totally different job.... but there he was .... That Same Guy she always went for... the one who would make her think all was good and he would treat her right only to take advantage... leaving her heartbroken. You would tell her... and you saw the signs a mile away... but until she would open her mind and see what she was doing to herself... there was no way she would listen...

Well, in These Men, we kind of have that situation.
Paige is the sister to Taz and half-sister to Easton. We know of all their stories through the previous books from Andrea Smith. These other books do not have to be read in order to read the novella, however, they do give added understanding if you have.

So, Paige is kind of at a crossroads... she did the college thing and has the intelligence to pick a career... she has been wearing out her welcome at her family's home due to no direction and living to the max "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" Battle-cry to the point where mom and dad have said enough. She applied for an internship with the FBI on a special project... hoping to give her a leg up when she qualifies at 23, a year from now, for a true position in the Bureau... after all her brother Taz is a G-Man... so why not.

She goes to live with her brother Taz and his wife Lindsey in DC; the deal is rent-free with her only having to run errands and some chores while there. Shouldn't be a problem... right? Well, this is where Paige seems to need an attitude adjustment... because she is throwing off major ones from the get go... she is annoyed with these tasks; annoyed with kids in general and is a real female hound dog...I am talking bring home to Taz's house one night stands and not quietly. Taz takes her aside, tries to explain the situation... Paige throws back in Taz's face how he was the same way in his past life before marriage. That does not play out well because the housing arrangements are what Taz is explaining... not so much of the actions... promises are made... with Paige holding to them until...

She again makes a sexual judgment call that would be totally appropriate in a Porno with the bow-chicka-bow-wow music happening in the background rather than in the family kitchen with Lindsey walking in with the kids DURING THE DAY.... yup... Paige figured out she needed another place and ran to her half brother's Easton's house to stay.

There she had no chores... just do her internship, keep herself in line and get through the program... just one little issue with that, too...one of the trainers was an ex-boyfriend who broke Easton's wife's heart by cheating... Darin... He is a known cheater and player... he is back in DC; Paige has to deal with him professionally... and does she... ah, no... she allows the sexually banter to happen- feeds it and the next thing happening is these two are hooking up... regularly. A conversation happens where Paige thinks this is going somewhere...she wants to bring him to the house... Darsey- the one Daren cheated on... says hell to the no... and you guessed... Paige needs another place to stay...

Enter the guys... Eli and Cain... these men are a couple and besties with Darsey. Cain has a catering company and Paige has been working with him when not training and interning for extra cash. They are wonderful, loving fellas and offer to rent the third bedroom to her as they could use the assistance with the new house's mortgage... win-win...Lucky Paige is all over it and moves in.

Now here is where things become interesting... Eli has known Darsey, Easton's Wife for a while. They met when Darsey was not in a good place and Eli actually turn her around and gave her the mental tools to change her life; focus on her career and better herself. He showed her a path through tough love; she took it and ran with it. Will Eli and Cain be able to give Paige the shake-up she needs to figure out what she is doing? Will both these loving men open themselves to Paige and be what she needs... and maybe what they need as well...

This story was a bit of an uphill climb for me... like when you are on the stair master... you know it will end with you feeling good... you will have made a difference for yourself and accomplished what you set out to do... but sometimes the time spent on it can just make you a little cray cray... I really was not a Paige fan... she was so immature to me at 22. She also felt like she thought her actions didn't impact anyone else... I never warmed up to her. She did manage to grow and evolve... and that was welcomed.

For those still curious as to what These Men meant... well, they meant quite a bit. Eli and Cain were as solid a couple as any other I have read...They loved each other deeply; were committed and understood each other's strengths and weaknesses. They each were accepting of all facets that made them up as the people they were... and that in my reading as well as in real life experience is very rare. Because of them and their way of being... I was able to connect with this tale.

This was part of the anthology, Bend...and These Men made it very interesting, indeed.

These Men by Andrea Smith
**** 0 stars ****

I'm going to sound like a bitch now, but after I finished this story, it got me thinking "How in a hell did this author got included in this company of authors? She can't write for shit."

We have a heroine who moves 3 times during the first 4 chapters of the story. Why? Because her pussy screws everything up. And story is not that long!

Long story short, her brother gets her into the FBI academy, as a trainee. She kicks everyones ass, being though cookie and all that. But she can't seem to keep her legs closed. At first she appeared somewhat professional, but then, on the next page, her trainer is making all kind of inappropriate remarks, and another page later they've been dating for some time. Her brother kicks her out, because she doesn't respect his house rules. Some other friends take her in, blah blah happens, she moves out. She moves in with two gay guys. They became close, BFFs, and it turns out their aren't really gay, they are bi. Shocker!
Then there is a lot (A LOT!) of ''babe'' (used 26 times), ''baby'' (used 34 times) and sweetheart. Remember, the story is pretty short.

I found the whole story to be a complete and utter mess. At first, I thought the story will be about a though woman, making on her own, kicking some ass, meeting a man (or two) along the way, getting hot and heavy, maybe falling in love... It was nothing like that. It was too much going on for me to be able to wrap my head around it. FBI academy, dick trainer, conflict with her brother, constant moving, looking for someone to scratch her itch, involving herself with some dude that she knew was a cheater, but she thought she could change him, heartbreak, another good for nothing guy, someone cheats, then meeting gay guys that aren't gays.
She says that one of the guys is so intense that she can barely look at him. But all he does is call, her babe, baby, sweetheart, tiptoes around her like she'll break at any moment, explains to her everything like she's stupid. Yeah, that’s the definition of «intense».
I couldn't take it anymore after I reached chapter 20. The writing was absolutely horrible. The ridiculous analogies, failed attempt at humor «His last name is Stewart. Get it? Like Martha Stewart.» Her friend laughs so hard she starts crying. Words like «Bahahahaha!!», «Dayumm…» annoyed the shit out of me. Author doesn’t know the meaning of the word «literally». "They were like day and night. Literally."

At end of this story was a little info about other books by this author, with a ward "baby" in every title of each installment (4 parts series). Guess if I'm going to be reading another story with "babe" or "baby" in it? Not very likely.

Did someone say ménage?

I'm a sucker for ménage stories. Especially MMF.
It's like getting 3 for the price of 2!

I really enjoyed reading These Men. Andrea Smith has managed to make me fall in love with all the characters in this short amount of time. Loved the slow build up and "Le Grande Finale" at the end..*wink wink*

My only complaint would be... I NEED MORE!!!

Holy bat mobile this novella is hot.

I admit In the beginning Paige was hard to like but once she met Eli and Cain she really came into her own. It was great to see her blossom and succeed. She deserved to be loved.

Cain-He was just DELICIOUS! His sexiness just blazed off my screen and I just couldn't get enough of him ! All those intense looks and all consuming kisses would make any girl weak in the knees. (Where do I sign up?)

Eli-He came across as the more emotional and if you looked closely, wore his heart on his sleeve. I enjoyed learning more about his past and it was hard not to swoon all over him. Since I'm greedy, I would have liked more interaction with just him and Paige.

In a nutshell, I thoroughly enjoyed their story, it left me with a smile and have no shame in begging for more. Please !

Paige starts all over the place with her rotating bedfellows and poor choices in men. I can't quite decide if I agree with her brothers or if they're overreacting. Either way, I really like this realistic aspect of the story.

There are some funny moments (that wasn't paprika!), some cringey ones, and several dirty adventures.

I swear to God, these men could be as competitive in bed as Serena and Venus Williams were on the tennis court.

I received an author's copy of the audio book that I listened to as I read along. The narrators are Tor Thom, who I've enjoyed before, and Charley Ongel, who reminds me of Ruby Rivers. I like them both, for the record.

I can't wait to see where the next part takes us! (This ends with an HFN.)

Where to begin? I discovered this little jewel of a book in the anthology BEND. Having never read Andrea Smith's work before, I was obviously curious to meet this new author (to me, at least). Well, let me tell you...it was absolutely delightful. Hot and sexy mixed with humor and sass, this story takes you through the many first-date epic fails all the while a new love budding on the side. The characters are extremely well-developed and all grow and evolve throughout the story. Now, you may be a little put off by our dear old heroine but as far as I'm concerned, she simply cracked me up. Meh, maybe I'm a skank too and are able to relate to her? No, I'm just a woman who feels it's refreshing to find female leads that are not afraid to live their sexuality freely without guilt or societal pressures to be the virginal do-gooders of the world. Two thumbs up for me and a MUST READ stamp!

5/9/14 - Andrea Smith - These Men - 4 stars

Quote Love: "You want to know that, when I'm inside of you that it's just me and you-- and no one else, and that each and every time I thrust my cock into you-- that it's for you and you alone, and when I finally come-- it's because of you and what you do to me that made that happen-- and that it's all yours and only yours."

What I liked: This was hot. It reminded me of a Nicole Edwards book in some ways. I wasn't like the main character at first but as her character grew and developed I got that I wasn't supposed to like her in the beginning really. I thought the development was excellent for such a short one.

What could have been better: Well there were some parts for instance where there is an overweight couple and the character makes a comment that their love makes them beautiful or something like that... I thought that was really offensive! The main character as I stated was pretty unlikeable in the beginning. I stuck with it because I was liking the story overall but it was almost enough to make me stop reading at first. I also thought there should have been more communication with the main characters due to the situation that they were in. I won't say anymore than that as not to spoil anything.

EDIT 5/16/14

I'm bumping this one up to 4.5 stars. Why? Because Andrea Smith has to be one of the most responsive and gracious authors ever. She read my review, and took note of the scene that could come off as being offensive to some and she freaking re-worked it so that it conveyed her intended message and showed the main character to be shallow and fairly vapid at that point in the story... instead of how I originally interpreted it, which was that the other characters were okay with that kind of thinking. AWESOME!!!

This is a first Andrea Smith read for me and I actually quite liked this one, and given that the set-up is not my cuppa, and for me to have still liked and enjoyed it, I think that says a lot. Ms. Smith got me reading right til the end, for sure.

Seeing that there's 2 H, and that this is a novella after all, I got enough details to get to know and like them. The h struck me as a sexually-charged brat, and that would just annoy me typically but it didn't here, and I don't dislike her at all. And as the story progressed, I did feel that she evolved and her thoughts matured. There is something about the way that Ms. Smith laid out the relationship(s) that made me appreciate the dynamics among the 3 MC's even if I don't understand it. Maybe it was the fact that added an interesting layer to the whole thing, I'm not sure. Regardless, things somehow made sense in my head.

I understand the h's brothers have their own stories in a diff series, so now I'm curious about that as well. Guess I found another author to keep an eye on...

Loved!!! Andrea Smith is in a class of her own. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Each book she releases is ever better than the last. If that is possibly. She continues to bring fresh ideas and characters that you can't help but love. Andrea is truly a master at her craft and I would recommend her books to anyone.

“We are all in this together.”

description

Paige is all set for starting a new chapter of her life as joining the FBI following her brother Tez and for that she moved across the country. She lives her life the way she desires which caused problems between her and her sister-in-law which left her with only choice to find herself a place to live there.

Cain and his partner Eli have room and they`re more than happy to use some extra cash, so Paige moves-in with them. Eli and Cain are to good to be true, they`re a perfect couple, madly in-love with each other and a complete package of SEX ON LEGS!

As the time goes by all three of them came close, they care for each other and turned into a trio, Paige love and care about Cain and Eli. The more she spend time with them the more she find herself drown to them and it wasn't like Paige is all alone into it but Cain and Eli were feeling the same connection.....

description

Will it be easier for Paige to have two men in her life who love her to pieces, can she handle both Cain and Eli who want to be with her?

I wasn't ready to change my taste buds in my reading choice because TBH I`m so not into M/F/M or M/M or F/F or F/M/F, they`re so not my cup of tea.
The books that I`d read with M/M and M/F/M plot, I can count them on my finger tips because there's only three books so far. So Yeah... when I started reading These Men I was a bit confused about if I should continue reading or not but Andrea has this magic mojo with her words that just enchant you under her spell and you can't stop reading....

In-short, it was exceptionally an amazing read.

4 "Sometimes it's right in front of you" STARS

This was one sexy, erotic, sensual read! It’s about Eli, first introduced in Andrea’s G-Man series (awesome) and his lover and partner, Cain and their new roommate, Paige Matthews (Taz’s – again from G-Man - little sister).

I loved Eli in Night Moves and absolutely fell head over heels for Cain in this story! He is one sexy man...just too irresistible.

Paige Matthews has a history of failure with men…she seems to unconsciously set herself up for this failure. Due to her not so discreet sexual escapades, failed and otherwise, she moves from one brother’s house to another and then finally, moves in with Eli and Cain. In the first few chapters, I was not so fond of Paige. Not because of her random hook-ups but because of her attitude.

 photo theseMen_zps1dc9d2ec.jpg

But, Paige finally gets the “memo” thanks to the guidance, love and support of the two men in her life and she smartens up her act. These men become a big part of Paige’s life.

“I wanted him- I wanted both of them- to do anything and everything that they desired.”

Andrea Smith is a great storyteller. While this is a novella, Andrea gives the story enough meat (pun intended ;-), with the slow build of friendship, attraction and relationship among the trio, to make this feel like a full book (almost…more would have been fantastic!). The chemistry between Cain and Paige is obvious but the ménage just seals the deal!

OK, so I LOVE Andrea Smith. I LOVE the G-MEN. Hell I love anything hot, steamy and taboo! This was to be an automatic Love for me...ugh, well then there was Paige Matthews...

Dear Lord, this gal drove me mad! I am all about getting what you want and going after what you need, no apologies. However, her lack of "Give a Shit" especially while in Taz's home lowered my opinion of her, majorly. No wander she needed to find he own place!
Then there were these two men...

ummmm, so you have a "cat", that's ok we like that too, lol! OMG did my temperature begin to rise! Cain and Eli were two super characters who you couldn't help but love. They welcomed Paige into their homes and into their hearts. Their decency could not do anything but rub on a hot horny lost
soul.

What progresses is a slow comfortable friendship and a simmering chemistry between Paige and Cain.

He pushes her a bit and with the full support of his life partner Eli he goes all in with wanting her. Luckily Paige gets a conscience and goes in with caution. Also, it does not take long for Eli to go all in with her as well. Now that she and "these men" are in love and in lust all is well in the world, as well as with my libido!

I could have read a book full of Eli and Cain...I just wish Paige would have not irked me...damn my grudge holding.

I read this as part of the Bend Anthology and loved it! This is my first book by this author and I love her concepts and writing!

The character development is strong and while the story kind of skipped ahead at times, it was a new and intriguing plot with lots of interesting characters! The chemistry and HOT sex will keep any fan of romance novels quite interested and tingly. ❤️ I could see some more spin offs here for sure.

The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5 is because I found the internal dialogue of the main character to be somewhat repetitive. Other than that, it's a great book! This was part of a BR with the group CD Canaries.

4.5 Hot Stars Not Quite 5

Reading almost all of the books from this author i have to say that this is def my fave. I loved this one. It's not so hard to guess why. If you didn't realize why till now than you don't know me at all. But i can tell you. When i read a book with some male, male action and even better throw a menage in as well you know it. I become an instant SLUT. So what?? Sue me. Nothing gets me better than this mix.
In special if it's good one.

So the question now will be why 4 Stars?

Well the answer it's simple. I WANTED MORE. More as in more sexual encounters between Cain and Eli and more action as in the threesome. But in the rest this book was damn good.

Recommend it read

These Men are was a pleasure to read! ;)

I'm gonna admit I didn't connect with Paige right off the bat. She seemed rather bratty and immature. But as the story unfolded, she began to grow, mature and I found myself liking her more and more. Besides, that is one things I most enjoy in a character - watching them grow and change, reaching their potential.

Paige makes some less than stellar decisions when it comes to men. She justifies it but it's becoming increasingly difficult for even her to believe. When she finds herself in need of new living conditions, Eli and Cain seem perfect. As they all get acquainted and become closer and closer, things change. These men change her life, really. They demand that she expect more of herself and from herself.

Both Cain and Eli are compassionate and yummy! ;) I felt as thought I got to know Cain a bit better than Eli, but I delighted in watching them, and Paige, figure out what they wanted and how they all fit together.

These Men is a spinoff of Ms. Smith's G-Man series and I will certainly be going back to read those. I liked Ms. Smith's storytelling and I'm interested in getting the whole story.

5 Sizzling Stars

This novella is part of the Bend Anthology and it is the first book by Smith that I have read. People who have read her other books will be familiar with the characters and this is Paige's story. Paige has not had the best track record with relationships, and now with her internship with the FBI she finds herself in D.C. in need of a place to stay after things did not work out at her brothers' homes.

Welcomed by two of the hottest roomates, Eli and Cain, she has no issue with their relationship. What becomes a problem for her is the chemistry she has with Cain and her feelings for both of these men and her desire to not hurt Eli. Little does she know that both men have interest in her and this allows for a unique situation.

This book was extremely well written and I loved how Smith spent more time focusing on the nuances of the relationship rather than just the sexual aspects. Don't get me wrong, she did that part just fine too, but it was the caring nature of this couple or trio that has you loving the story.

I loved this one...not so much because of Paige, because I must admit, until she sorted her shit out, she kinda irritated me. But Eli and Cain I love love love with a passion. I really enjoyed this story and I want to know more. This novella could be expanded and I want it to be. I have loved this series and was glad to catch up with the other guys too, but seriously, Andrea tackled ménage and I feel she nailed it. I felt the connection between the three, my only criticism was that it ended when it did, I felt the end was rushed when all I wanted was more.

I struggled a bit with this story. It had all the elements: two hunky men, a young, "feisty" 23-yo, FBI candidate as a roommate. But "feisty" Paige has severe boundary issues, which made her majorly unlikable. I don't like disliking the heroine of a story. It makes it hard to care. Also, there was some selfishness which got to me. But, by the end I was hooked. And the steam level was through the roof. Overall, though, it was another winner in the sadly fated Bend Anthology.

I loved this little story. Nothing new, and totally predictable, but a good menage story told well is something quite delicious!

It has it’s moments, but needed more story or more smut. I commend the author on a notably stirring cunnilingus scene. I feel as though art imitates life in this respect where it’s more difficult to write this act we’ll than it’s brother (fellatio). I also appreciate the guys in the triad being relatively normal (personality wise and they aren’t billionaire cowboy vampires or whatever). I haven’t read the rest of the series so not sure if it it’s fair to rate it. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt.
