Presented by the Ohio Lepidopterists, this book is to encourage interest and provide detailed information to increase our knowledge of butterflies, skippers, and moths in Ohio and its neighboring states in the Great Lakes region.
This is really "scientific". It is a report on butterflies and skippers seen in Ohio. There are color plates in the back, but most of the book is just individual reports on these insects. I've had a butterfly that was dead in the garage in the summer, clipped to a magnet on my fridge, and wanted to know about it. It was hard to trace it back from the picture page to the report on it, and I am not sure I know much more than I did. I need a handbook for the "common woman." We moved to an area near the Ohio river, and I'm interested in who is visiting my garden and what I can plant that will appeal to them.
